Dear Jeanette,
You finally found me. I have been trying to find you, but evidently ancestry.com had an old email address. I even googled you and found you on the committee for some reunion for the Jourdanton Centennial. Couldn't find a facebook id either. So very glad to hear from you. \

Is your grandfather the one I see listed as Joseph "Jose" Kaiser, or is that another Kaiser family? Also, do you know of a Claude Kaiser? He visited my family once in Houston. Where do you live? I now live in Cedar Park, in the same county where obviously our grandfathers once lived.

So anxious to talk to you about so much more. My direct email is judy@theburgesses.us Look forward to seeing you soon. Pax

Re: Looking for Peter Erlin Kaiser of Canada, descendants

Four of us who are first cousins through the Kaisers, all grandchildren of Benjamin Thomson Kaiser (m Grace mcGee, 1912)
born 1888 Collingwoood, ON, have decided to try to create a family history (contemporary, as well as historical) for our children and grandchildren. I believe Grandpa Ben to be a descendant of Peter Erlin Kaiser, United Empire Loyalist, due to a Kaiser family tree booklet I saw earlier in my life. We live in Saskatchewan (me), Winnipeg (Laurie Kaiser and Candace Brown, Vancouver, and Vancouver Island.

I accidentally stumbled upon Caroline's birth record in the Cincinnati Ohio 18?? to 1910 records. It listed her father as Herman and her mother as Catherine. Now is there any help out there for me to obtain more information about her? Her death certificate listed her father as Clem. and her marriage certificate listed her mother as Caroline Krambrook which may be a changed spelling of her german name.

William Reid Kaiser was born 29 Feb 1868. One of his sons', Jesse , was my grandfather on my mother's side. His middle name, Erlin, has been found to be spelled many different ways. In his military records, it is spelled Erlyne. I was in Ottawa a few years ago and looked up some records in the Archives, and found that he hyphenated the Campbell-Kaiser while he was in the First World War. I do have a photo of William and Alma on their wedding day. Also, I believe that I have a family portrait of the Jesse and Mary Kaiser family, including numerous children.Perhaps you have already found out all this info, i've just started with ancestry.com.

I am looking for information about a Barbara Kaiser b. 7 April 1917 in Grabatz, Romania. She and her husband Sebastian Engelhardt (b.25 Jun 1913) moved to Chillicothe, Ohio in 1952 then to Chicago, Illinois in about 1956. I am looking for any information about Barbara's parents or possible siblings.
There is a chance her parents names might be Adam and Teresia. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I am certain now that my grandmother's parents were Clem and Helen (Lena) Kaiser. According to the 1900 census, she had a sister named Josephina and several brothers one of which was named Frank. When she married George William Dechant in 1903, she had three sons, two of whom she named Charles Clement Dechant and Frank Henry Dechant. I know for sure that there are relatives to her somewhere. I would like to have some contact with them to discover what she might have been like. She died January 11, 1914 in Mill Creek Ohio.

It would take much research to see if there could be a connection prior to 1600. According to the records of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS) Andreas Kaiser (my great greatgrandfather) came to America arriving in 1856, having left Freudenburg, a small village near Trier, Germany, on June 24, 1856. I don't have any information on Andreas' ancestors beyond the late 1780s. Patti

Can you provide a location where your ancestors resided in Germany? And where they relocated to in the USA? My furthest back known Kaiser ancestor was Jacob (Kayser) and his wife Elizabeth Kiefer from Bayern Germany. Their births would have taken place in about 1760, their son Michaelis was born 21 July 1783 in Freudenburg, Germany. The only other child I have listed is Nicholaus born about 1787. Have you any idea who Augustin's parents were? His birthdate is near that of Jacob & Elizabeth's children, but I don't know if they had other children. Patti Laessig
