I have several unidentified photos taken by L. W. Keen, Jonesboro, Tennessee, in the mid to late 1800s. I would like to hear from anyone who may be able to help me identify these people or who might know where the negatives may be located.

Ann, I do not know the maiden name of Inez Keen/e but her name is spelled as Inez V. Keene in the Ohio death index. She died Apr 13, 1987 in Scioto County, Ohio if this is the same person. I don't have her death record but it is probably available and would probably give her maiden name. Social Security Death Index says she was born Dec 2, 1894 and her last address was Vanceburg, Lewis, Ky. The Cemeteries of Greenup Co., Ky CD spells the name as Keen with th same year of birth and death and says she is the wife of Joseph Keen and they are both buried in Siloam, Greenup Co., Ky.

It's been years so I'm probably out of luck reaching you but I thought I'd post anyway. By chance you get this, did you ever figure out more about Allen's parents? I have them as John Keen and Michel Truett but I'd really like to figure out who John Keen's parents were.

I too am researching the Keen family, my husband is a descendant. Coming down through the Hodges family to the Elizabeth"Betsy"Clay, then from William Mitchell Clay JR. to Millie Keen. Are you finding these names that may be in your line of this tree? William M Clay SR married to Martha Runyan. This info coming from family records.
Would appreciate any thing you might be able to help me with.I'm also 79 yrs. old and not to good at all this,most certainly appreciate the help. Look forward to getting your reply. Thanking you in advance.

Zebulon Keen was born in Pembroke, Plymouth, MA and descends from John Keen who came from England in 1638 on the ship Confidence.

Has anyone from your KEEN family line done Ydna testing ?? I am from both the Johnston Co NC ..into GA.. Keene line (on father's side) AND the colonial MD KEENE line (on mother's side), and we've done and are doing ydna testing on several male Keene's and having some great results, sorting out who is from which line! Having some interesting and some surprising results!!

My father's line goes back to GEORGE KEENE b. ca 1771 poss Bertie Co. NC, to Johnston Co. NC...thru his son WM, to GA by early 1800s...
My mother's Keene line is from colonial MD KEENE line, going back to Edward Keene from England, thru his son HENRY KEENE who mar ANNE HALLE, thru their daughter, ANNE KEENE who marr. George BUSSEY...into SC, then into GA...
Those are my Keene lines.
I have a KEENE KIN Facebook page ... and a long-time (over 10 yrs) KEENE email list with MANY KEENE's on it. Am also involved in recruiting many male Keene's for Ydna testing, incl my brother and sevl male (distant) cousins, and some NOT cousins...have sorted out sevl of the diff. early U.S. KEENE lines...and research continues!
Would love to hear from others!
(If your line has pretty much brickwalled, you may be ready for Ydna testing! It can be a huge help!) ... it has been to me and many others!

I'm searching for any relative from this Keen / Keene line. That can help with info on Zebulon and wife Hulda While living in Homer NY. They settled in Homer in 1796 part of the military land tract. They came from Brimfield Mass. Zebulon is the son of Isaiah Keen and Ruth Bisbee. Solid info on Zebulon & family while in Homer has proved most elusive, so any help would be a big help. Lovely to hear from a member of the Keen clan! As you state this is an old message and I finally made contact with the granddaughter of Elizabeth Ada in New Zealand and we correspond almost weekly.

It is lovely to hear from Rose Elizabeth's family as I am also in touch with the Grandaughter of Charles Frederick. I cannot wait to tell my father I have heard from another of his father's sisters grandchildren.

The Children you are missing are their first born Helena Jane who died in Nov 1888 as a baby. She was only a few weeks old and died of a cold.

The second was a twin of Herbert Reginald that died at birth, unfortunately I have not been able to establish a name.

For years I searched for these two children as my grandfather wrote his life history and said he was one of thirteen. I had hoped the 1911 census would be my answer.

Elizabeth Ada married a William Benjamin Arthur Wilkinson and Helena May married George James Eden.

I have their children's names if you want them.

Apart from Grace I did not meet any of my grandfathers siblings and your grandmother is the only one I do not have a birthdate for I only have her baptism on 10 May 1893.(Apart from the two that died)

Hi, Bit old I know but just saw your post. My grandmother was Rose Elizabeth Keen. My mother (who is still alive) believes that Elizabeth and Nell (Helena) emigrated to New Zealand around 1920. They lived quite close together in NZ. One of my Aunts kept in touch with them for a little while afterwards and told my mother that one of the sisters (dont know which) married a man called Wilkins.
I'm afraid thats all I can tell you. I'm interested to see that you belive there were 13 siblings - I am aware of only 11 (William, Charles,Rose,Ada,Henry,James,Helena, Herbert,Grace,Samuel,Henrietta,Stanley)Who were the other 2?

Does anyone know anything of Clara Keen b.1901. I believe her middle name was Alice.
Mother and Father: Eliza Eaton/Keen/Eccleston. Henry Keen
Brother and Sister, Arthur and Alice.
Born in darlaston, Staffordshire. Lived in Wigan around 1911.
Alice her sister was my Great Grandmother.
Any info would be great.

Hi, My grandmother was Susan Patterson born in Walhalla. In 1893 six years before she married my grandfather, Susan gave birth to Edith Frances Patterson. When he found out the father (unknown) disappeared to Western Australia. The child was pssed to Ellen who looked after her until Edith died of laryngitis on 1st March 1901 at the age of seven. She died at the Mount Gambier Hotel, 27 Palmer Street, Fitzroy. The Post Office Directory shows Ellen living there at the time. The death was reported by Alfred Jonathan Keen, Ellen's son who was a publican around the area.

I've been searching ancestry.com just now and saw a post you put on many many years ago about George & Angeline Keen. Angeline was my great great great grandmother. Are you still researching this line? I have lots more information for you, but am hoping you might have a little info for me. Angeline's maiden name is Craver, and she did mary Fowler Smith before she married George Keen.

Looking for documented evidence of Lewis Keen's parents, grandparents, etc.

Several trees have parents listed [including 2 possible moms?] but no documented proof, which I always require. I would love proof to back up the suspected list.

Is there any evidence for a marriage in Blockley in about 1834 for a Dinah Keen to Stephen Taplin? I know they were living in Blockley in 1851 and 3 youngest children were baptised there but cannot find a marriage record. Dinah was from Adlestrop I believe, illeg daughter of Alice Keen. If I can locate Dinah in Blockley before her marriage it may connect my Adlestrop/Lower Slaughter Keens with the Blockley ones.

I am connected to the Keens as well, have also connected 295 surnames of Blockley by marriage. I have all of Blockley's registers and census 1841-1901 also most of the Electoral rolls as well. I don't have the records for Ebenezer Baptist church however (now a residence)

I have a picture of William, Sarah, and their children made about 1912. They had four daughters. I can't put names on them. I found that Pinkney & Eliza Keen had the following children listed on the 1880 Census:
Lara L. (10),Mahaly E. (8), Jas. (James maybe)(5),Jasper (3) and John (9 months old).
So John is somebody new for your tree. :)

Thank you so much for all of this information. I'd love it if you could solve this mystery. The Keen's are on my husband's side of the tree. Robert L. Keen's daughter (Helen Gaye Keen) was married to Gilbert Sweat.
My mother-in-law was a Sweat before she married a Purvis.

Hello my name is Phillip Ray Holmes and I am a descendant of Jasper Keen, who was the son of Pinkney M. Keen. The only sons of Pinkney that I can remember in my research was Jasper, and James (called Jimmy or Jim Keen). My mother is Jo Marie Keen Holmes, her father & mother were William Hillard & Eurah Nash Keen. William Hillard Keen's parents were Jasper Newton Keen & Agness Evaline Watkins Keen. Jasper Keen's parents were Pinkney M. Keen & Eliza Morris Keen. I will look at my records to see if I can find out who this Robert Keen was who was living with Grandpa Pinkney Keen. Pinkey keen had many daughter's too. But I want to know what relationship Robert Keen was to you first if you don't mind! I don't mind if you call me! Oh and Pinkney M. Keen was a Confederate War soldier
in The Civil War, and fought against the Yankee invaders!!

I am trying to find out who the parents of Robert L. Keen are. He's on the 1910 (I think) census as being 4 years old and living with his grandparents (Pinkney & Eliza Keen). If you know who his parents are and what happened to them - please reply to this post.

I don't know if there is any connection, but there was a family of Keens living in Irwinton, GA. His name was Willis Keen and he married Margaret Elizabeth Scott. He was born in 1823 and died in 1862 in Richmond, VA. I don't see a Sallie.
His Father was William Keen from North Carolina.

William is pictured in the 44-A class yearbook of Curtis Field, in Brady, Texas. He is the asst. air corps supervisor. I'm not kin but thought this might help someone researching the family.
