I can easily appreciate your frustration too, however I have had great help from those with public trees. NOT SO MUCH with some who have private trees, but I guess thats ok too.

I have not published because I too question some of my info and jus haven't gotten it together.

There are some TRUE professionals out there so I hope you will not stop trying to work with those who want to help.

Believe me they are out there!!!!

I understand the frustration. I have never published my tree because after 15 years I'm still not 100% sure about my info.
My problem with private trees is that I have only ever had one response from a private tree owner and it was very nasty. The owner stated what she had on her tree was none of my business, and to not ever bother her again.
So how are we to resolve this.
I am starting my wifes Kennedy line, and without clues I'm stuck.
All I ask is if I contact someone, please be respectful enough to at least acknowledge contact without being nasty.

I am looking for a Thomas William Kennedy, who was born in Ireland some time between 1908-1916. I know for a fact he lived at 29 St Clair AVe in Hamilton, On during 1938-1939. He was a lodger at my Aunt Lottie Mckenna's home during this time. He was friends with Margaret Ruth Hunter, she went by Ruth Hunter. He was married some time during mid to late 1939-1940, and then moved with his bride to the States. No idea where, and no name for his wife. There was a child born, but don't have their name either. All I can say for sure is that he lived in Hamilton ( was called Wentworth back then). I would really like to know more about him. He is a very important link to my past. Any one with even the slightest possibile hint or clue pls email. Thanks

It has her kids baby pictures in it and everything. Would like to offer to give it back to her or one of her kids. Please help me find her and have them send ID so I can be sure I'm returning this suitcase to the right person. I would hate to lose the kind of stuff that is in this suitcase.
Have any Kennedys found links to a John George Dron from London, England? One of my ancesters John George Dron, (on my paternal grandmother's side) left London with his new wife Isabella Tregear and took up residence in New York. He made several cross-Atlantic crossings finally settling in NY with yet another wife Jennie Kennedy, but I can't find them once they finally settled. Please reply if you can help.
Hi,
I just found out that my gg gf, William Kennedy (1840 NFD- 1927 Perth Amboy, NJ) had a brother named Martin. Their father's name was John Martin, and he was born and stayed in NFD. Martin Kennedy was alive in 1927 and living in the Runnemede Camden, NJ area. I have found a Martin Kennedy who lived in Camden, but because he was born in 1865, I believe it's his son.
Any info on either Martin Kennedy would be wonderful. He may have been living in Cat's Cove Newfoundland with his brother.

Hey there I am trying to figure out the closeness of the Colton's that immigrated from Ireland and the original Kennedy family. I understand JFK's aunt was Claire Colton who married Charles Joseph Burke, and I also know that Joseph B. Colton, the original fictional G.I. JOE has a huge connection to JFK. Could anyone please elaborate on this more and give me some more examples of Kennedy/Colton relation. Thank you.

Re: Abuse of Ancestry Kennedy Trees

I have to say that I see both sides of this issue. Being far from an expert in the field of researching, I will admit that I have looked at and attached information to my own file from other researchers where the tree was public. When it is attached, the information from that source is also included and the credit is given to that person.

On the flip side, I have gotten some hits on private trees and requested to speak to them numerous times and haven't received a response. There could be a number of reasons why a person don't respond, but that too is frustrating.

I think, or in my opinion, Ancestry is a great tool for some leads and can give one a path to search on, but ultimately, it is up to the "serious" researcher (skilled or not) to decide what they feel is correct information and place in their tree.

I will always keep my tree public. If I had not done so, I would not have found over 20 relatives and stories about my family that while heart wrenching, is priceless. It is up to me, to prove it.

John and Catherine Kennedy, Indiana

I am trying to identify the family of these children. I have a picture of 2 children, identified on the back as John Kennedy, age 3 and Catherine Kennedy, age 2. The picture was professionally taken but there is no studio name on it. I cannot say where or when it was taken, but from the clothing on the kids, it appears to date to the very, very early 1900s. I have 2 possible Kennedy connections to my own lines and am trying to "connect the dots". Does anyone have these children in their family?

Hi,
I am looking for info on my great Uncle James (1875 Cat's Cove, NFD, before 1910 census, South Amboy, NJ) and his family. He immigrated to South Amboy, NJ abt 1890. He married Anna KENNEDY (from Limerick, Ireland, no idea if related). In the 1900 census, James is alive and has one son, William (1899). In the 1910 census, Anna is a widow, and she another child, Roland, born in 1907, and is living with her parents, still in S. Amboy. According to both her parents' obituaries, she remarried someone named Shraffler, Shreffler, or Sheffler (spelled differently in the obits), and she was living in Baltimore, MD.

Kennedy Family Tree Abuse and Theft

I certainly concur that there are people who use Ancestry without giving thought to who the information really applies to. Not only that, but there is an individual who steals photo images from others and claims that once you post it, anyone has a right to it. Her name is Janice Cooper and the tree is entitled "Kennedy Family Tree." I think it is a shame that people steal information knowingly from others and claim it for themselves. I have considered litigation because the photo images she obtained from me were posted without my authorization. This woman has also distorted information giving incorrect dates and information. So "beware" and be "aware" of the person I just mentioned.

Good morning,

I'm looking for anyone who may be working on the Kennedy family that may have been in Mississippi. I have an Abraham Lincoln (Benjamin) Kennedy Born in Mississippi about 1865 (His father was James Kennedy born 1812 in Georgia) who married

Mary Lucy Pollyanna Willoughby born in Georgia about 1864. These Kennedys are living in Union County Mississippi on the 1880 census and in 1900 they were living in Chickasaw Nation (Oklahoma). Of course on both of these census records they are surrounded by other Kennedys.

If you have Kennedys in Mississippi in 1880 and then in Oklahoma while it was still Indian territory 1900 (Chickasaw)
I would love to share information.

many thanks,

Cathy
