Looking for any information about Thomas Kentish, 1800s; adult and author between 1837 and 1866'

Walter Frederick Kentish

I am trying to look for daughters or if they had their own familys. Of the late Walter Frederick Kentish born 1882 St Albans.
His parents were Emma Priscilla Haggar and Herbert James Kentish both were born St Albans area.
They all moved to WANSTEAD E11.
Walter Frederick Kentish emigrated to Canada.His wife name was Jane she came from Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
As far as we know they had 3 daughters one died at 20 months old her name was Dorothy. Another daughter was Judith
and there was another who was married.
The last known place they lived was CHILLIWACK CANADA
and someone has kindly found Obituries of Walter and Jane.

A Nathaniel Lipscombe KENTISH, he was, i believe 3rd cousin once removed from a James KENTISH, my g-g-g-grandfather. His father was Nathaniel and his mother a LIPSCOMBE, so this may be the son of your Nathaniel. According to my information Nathaniel senior was a naval surgeon and the son trained as an engineer. He came out to Australia working in Sydney, South Australia, Tasmania and Melbourne. He surveyed parts of SA and Tasmania. Was also into newspaper publishing. He seemed to be associated with much dispute, even as a minor taking legal action over a will and estate. He had disputes with authorities employing him and others in publishing - this got him a gaol sentence in Melbourne. I have further information.

I am looking for evidence that my grandmother Ethel Brockman once lived in dover...Born in 1882, immigrated to the Us around 1901.....anyody knowanything about this lady?

Her date of birth was 1813 give or take a couple of years [I have seen variations of her age},she married 11 December 1836 at St Dunstans in Stepney to Thomas Meakin.My next step is to go back in the Parish records and find the name of her parents,is she one of the siblings?

Do you have an approx date of birth? I have about 5 Marys in my Kentish line dating from 1777 onwards but as they were all siblings of who Im researching I havent researched their lines yet.

Anna, I am trying to find my gt*3 Grandmother who according to her Daughters Birth certificate was Mary Meakin nee Kentish probably born in the parish of Kingsland ,which is just north of Shoreditch in London.Would you have any links to her that might be useful.An alternative for place of birth is Stepney.

My gt x3 grandfather. He was born 1752, married Elizabeth Lipscimb in Feb 1783 in Hampshire and was listed as a "surgeon.....and man midwife" in 1784. Any cousins out there?

You're very welcome, I found it on ancestry.co.uk, all I did was put in Kentish and looked for someone who married a Sarah, around 1830 due to the ages of the two daughters.
If I can be of any use or help with any other then please feel free to drop me a line. free BMD does not start until 1837, but most people are looking for info before that.

Having a quick look, looking at the dates of the two daughters names, I have found a marriage that could be the one you are looking for, Sarah Compton and Thos Kentish (Thomas?), 1827 Bloomsbury St George.
Maybe you could do some digging.

Clara Kentish born abt. 1830, Clerkenwell - daughter
Lydia Kentish born abt, 1838, St. Pancras - daughter.

this taken from 1861 census, Sarah Kentish age 68 a widow,would like to find the name of her husband.

William J E Kentish

I am looking for William J E KENTISH b.1900 in St Pancras. His father was William Edwin b. 1864 and mother Julia Emma Aldridge b.1866. William Jnr's mother died in childbirth and William Snr went to live with his parents James and Ellen Kentish, together with two of his brothers Alfred b. 1870 and Walter b. 1872. The family had a small building and decorating business in St Pancras. Any help would be appreciated.

I am looking for any information on the KENTISH family, from the Bucks area. Any relatives of Samuel Kentish who married Flourence Turney, both born 1866 in the Bucks area. They had five children, Gertrude, Harry, Bernard, Netta and Stanley.

John Kentish - Goldsmith - London

I am looking for the descendants of John KENTISH (1721-1779) and his wife Frances RUSSELL (1727-1803). They had at least 12 children but the ones lasting past infancy were
Frances who married Richard TURNER
Ann who married Capt. John BULL
William 1748 - 1772, married but not positive of his wife's name or any family.
George 1756 - ?
John 1744 - 1775
Frederick 1757 - ?
Samuel 1762 - 1819 married Susannah HOLDEN
Mary (1765 - ?) married Thomas Hawkes.

All the family weere born in London around the Cornhill area and many of them died at Harlington, MSX.

Anyone have any of these people on their 'Tree'?
