I'm sorry to hear about Betty passing away, I had talked to her several times, got nice letters from her especially at Christmas. I'm also curious about this castle in England. Hadn't heard about it before. Tell me more!

Have a great day!

Bob in Wisconsin

I ama descended from Henry Kettering and wife Susanah Sluss through their daughter, Julia Ann, who married James Preston Coleman(Coalman)about 1835. I keep on seeing that Susanah was a survivor of "the massacur" and never see any one say what that is all about. Do you have any info? James is buried in Hayesville NC (Clay Co) Methodist Church cemetery and Julia came to Texas with her younger children and is buried in Shannon (CLay Co) Texas in the towns cemetery. Her youngest child, Nebraska America Coleman Matheson, is my great grandmother.

I hear there are two books now and I am sure its more than $25 if you can give me any information on this I would appreciate it. Is there info on Henry Ketron who married Susannah Sluss and there son Joseph who marries Elizabeth Cookenour to Sarah ann b 1844 d1923 marries David J. Hobbs Thanks again for your time.
I have the 1978 edition of the book, which is over 1500 pages. I'm not sure if there is a later edition or not. The front page has the following: "Compiled and Published by Henry Hardy Catron, Springfield, Illinois" and "Lithoprinted U.S.A., Unigraphic, Inc. Evansville, Indiana 47711 1978". Mr. Catron was born in 1907, so it is unlikely that he is still living. Good luck.

Hello: I went to an estate sale in Virginia, near Washington DC and the pictures were there, might have been Arlington or Upper Alexandria. I did not find out if the sale was that of a descendant of Michael or not. I meant to ask the name so I could look for connection of the family but forgot and this was last day of the sale.
I was touched by the pictures and maybe silly of me to buy them but I do hope that one day, somewhere, pictures of my family will be rescued and a note placed on the boards and so that is why I sometimes buy some pics, letters and bibles. I think you can click on my name above and get my e-mail address if you want to write direct. I don't know about putting up pictures through here. I did find a tree listing this family and left a postem but there was no reply. Main pic of whole family and two others of, I think was, Sarah and Clara, pics are downstairs and I will get them out of box and more details if you think they are related. Let me know if the family is yours. Kind regards, Cherie Lynn

Where did you buy these at? My folks have a Michael Ketterning, but I need to go back in our tree, and find out details of his origin. We can from the Black Forest in Germany, over to Maryland, and down into Virginia. I would love to see the pictures, and hear details of how you came across it. Thank you in advance.
Hello: I am Cherie Lynn and want to share photographs I got at estate sale of Michael Ketring and family and one of Sarah and one of Clara. The two individual portraits of Clara and Sarah have their names on the back. and The third portrait is a family group photo, no names but I recognize the girls in photo and bought them together. Hated to see them in the rubbish bin so I bought them home and looked for trees. I placed postem but no reply... Are there descendants of Michael and co or the girls? Regards, Cherie Lynn

There is a home in Lemont Illinois built by John Kettering son of Adam from Palmyra, Lebanon, PA. It's vacant recently purchased by a builder that wants to develop the land. This would include the leveling of a beautiful 1840's or 1850's Mansion! The home was a residence up until about 5 years ago. since then it's been badly vandalized by teenagers... for more information email me. drutter322@aol.com

There seems to be a missing generation early in the Kettenring family tree. Hans Jacob Kettenring, Jr. (as listed in H. H. Catron's book) is probably the grandson of Hans Jacob Kettenring, which would make him Hans Jacob the II or III.

Thank you, Kaye for the information. The family must have refered to her as, Rebecca and not Margaret. The way the Will is written it makes one think there are two people.
