Barbara Kettles - married Hammonds?

I have a Robert Grover Hammonds
b. 11 Jun 1887
d. 11 Sep 1960

In the Alabama Deaths and Burial Index his parents as listed as John V. Hammonds and Barbara Kettles. Both of these parents are dead ends for me. If anyone has any suggestions of where to look or information regarding this family I would appreciate it.

Albert is pictured in the 1943 yearbook of the 20th Ferrying Group, based at Nashville, Tennessee. Their duty was to transport aircraft from the United States to the Allied front. I'm not kin but thought this might help others researching family.

Unfortunately none of my Kettles lived in Kentucky, a few of them settled in NYC but the majority settled in Canada during the 1840's. They originated from Scotland in the Perthshire district.

i have found a kettles in my line im a allen and she just might be my gggreatgrandmother accorrding to kentucky marrieage licsence she married a cecil allen my ggreatgrandfather is cecil stanton allen and i got my info from logancounty genealogical society so maybe we can help each other im searching for my greatgrandfathers parents and kentucky shows dortha kettles and cecil allen had children just cecil wasnt born at that time the cencus was taken they had 3 children at that time in kentucky logan county kentucky

Just found the record to confirm that Jennie Kettles was married to JOSEPH LeCorre on Nov 22, 1895 in Brooklyn. He was listed as Carr and she as Kettle (at least in the index I referenced). Now would like to find Joseph's date of death. If you can help, it would be appreciated.

My grandmother; Susan Kettles, b. 1880, Glasgow, Scotland, parents were Andrew Kettles and Margaret Ralston Kettles. Susan had a sister, Jennie/Jenny, The family came from Scotland and settled in NYC and NJ. My grandmother, Susan Kettles married James Yuill. Lets talk.

Kettles Surname Project

I have been researching the Kettles family for the past 26 years and have established that descendants of my line of Kettles reside in Scotland, Canada, Australia and the USA. My brick wall comes in Perthshire, Scotland with a Thomas Kettles born 1762. In my research I have come across at least five other unconnected family lines that other researchers are currently following, and would like to establish if they belong to my Kettles family line.
I have set up and am the volunteer administrator for a Kettles Surname DNA Project with a known Lab situated in the USA and the UK. It is my hope and goal to connect Kettles family members via DNA. I am hoping that through this project, these five or so unconnected lines will be able to find a common ancestor with each other as well as connecting to my line of Kettles.

Saw your posting on Simmons message board decided to post here as what I found concerns Kettles-LeCorre.

Found 2 Le Corre marriage records:

Edward B. Le Corre married 1897 to a Caroline R. Ure in Brooklyn, Kings Co. NY

Mamie F. Le Corre married 1897 Samuel L. Barriet in Brooklyn, Kings Co. NY.

If this is the same family as Charles, with Jennie's oldest daughter Catherine birth in May 1896 and dau Jennie J. b. March 1899, then I would think her husband would have been Charles.

Obit - Lester Lawrence Barr - Colorado - son of George and Bessie (Kettles) Barr

Lester Lawrence Barr, Florence, CO, died Oct. 31, 2004, at his home. He was born May 30, 1919, in Cheyenne Wells, to George and Bessie (Kettles) Barr. On June 19, 1940, he married Dorothy Jane Boyd in Goodland, Kan. She preceded him in death Oct. 7, 1998.

He and Dorothy lived in Cheyenne Wells until 1948, at which time they moved to Portland and operated a dairy farm. In 1954, they moved to Rainbow Park and operated the gas station on the corner. In 1959, they moved to Florence where he lived until his death.

In 1953, he started working at the Florence Feed Store and worked there for 37 years. Mr. Barr and his wife retired in 1990 and enjoyed their retirement until her death.

He is survived by children, Barbara DeMoss, Robert Barr, Bill Barr; granddaughter, Paula Sue DeMoss; brothers, Wayne Barr, Don Barr, and many brother-in-laws; sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.

He also was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Kevin Leroy DeMoss in June of 1995; a brother, Dale and sisters Lois and Iva.

Burial in Union Highland Cemetery in Florence.

Wanting to find any info on a James Kettles who married Ann Young in Kingfauns Scotland and had a son David and Daughter Ann who came to Australia and lived the Nagambie -Baillieston area. David married Jane Smith and Ann married John Toohey.

Looking for info on Jennie Kettles born 1875, daughter of Andrew and Maggie, mother of Catherine and Jennie. She was born in Scotland, parents lived in NJ, seems she married either Edward or Charles LeCorre and had 2 daughters in 1897 and 1899. She was found living with her parents in 1900 census, but marked as married. Believe she later married John Simmons. If anyone has info on first husband, it would help us piece together our LeCorre history. Thanks.

Searching for Kettles born in or around Hell's Kitchen -in New York. In perticular off spring realted to Thomas and Mary o'Neill Kettles- 11 of their children were baptized in the Sacred Heart Church of Jesus.I have no date or place of their marriage but believe it to be of England. They had a son John who does not appear in any U.S. records. The church lists their children as: Ellen Ana(1878),Johanna(possible Hannah)(1880),Margaret (1881), Agnes (1883),Jacob Joseph(1887),Catherine (or Katherine)(1889),David(1892),Gertrude(1893),Alma(1896),Thomas, and Mary Elizabeth.I also have a small listing of their spouses. My earliest known KETTLES ancestor is WILLIAM, b Mar 17,1843 in Cora Goal, Fermanaugh, Ireland. He married Catherine Montgomery, born the same place, and they came to the Ottawa area.

I'm searching for a brother to my ggrandfather, Edwin H. Ellis. Their mother was Elizabeth. Her sons were: William Harrison Ellis b. 1847, John J. Ellis b. 1849, Edwin H. Ellis b.1853 (my ggrandfather) and Franklin Merrill Ellis b. 1857, all b. VT. They were in Vernon Co.,WI in 1870 census and John J. was gone by 1880 census in same county. He may have moved from WI to MN, near Minneapolis. There also may be a connection to Willmar, MN. I'm hoping to find any information about John J. Ellis, or know his descendants.

Our family stories say our ELLIS family came from Ashville, NC, but I haven't found proof of that yet. My grandfather was passing through that town and a stranger said, "You must be an Ellis". Then when my grandfather questioned as to why she would say that, she said, "You look like the Ellis'". So, I can say that my grandfather was 6'3" and had blue eyes and brown hair. We also have stories about the family originally coming over from Scotland. I sure wish I could see a photo of some of the Ellis clan in NC, to see for myself.
