I Am looking for my great grandmother Anna Marie Kidney. She was born on Nov 1857 in Tyrone co Ireland. The town was Fivemiletown. Her mother name was Catherine her father name was John.The family came to the USA when she was a baby. She later meet Henry Carlson in Chicago Ill USA came to Neb USA got married in 1876 made a farm in Franklin Neb she passed away in 1896 in Stockton Mo. I can not find the port they came to or the ships name? Or anything about where they lived before Chicago. Or anything about family as a Child OR if she had brothers or sisters? Or anything about her parents?

Do a search for John/ Jan Kidney on the internet with google search engine . Gary Kidney has done the research for The Kidney family. I have seen George connected. We are connected also in Chillicothe, Ohio. The family came from Barbados then to Albany, New York.

Lula Kidney Ward would be my grandmother. Her daughter's name was Elizabeth Louise Ward Arch, my mother. She died in 1980 the same year my father died. She passed away in Kentucky and is buried in Ohio. Please contact. Jim Arch

I read your message board note. My mother's maiden name was Elizebeth Ward. Her mother was married to Harley Ward. His full name was Harley Samford Ward. His wife was Bessie Ward. Her maiden name was Kidney. My father told me that I had second cousins. All the names that you mentioned at the end of your message are the names of my second cousins. When I was about 3 years old my father would take me wp to see my cousins. Larry, Luke, James, and etc. My name is James Arch. I would like to know more about the Ward family and the Kidney family. Some live in Kentucky now. That is where I was born. Please contact.

My great grandfather was born in 1849 - his father was David. There may well be a connection though Maurice didn't have a brother James. A cousin maybe? My Maurice left Ireland when he was about 15 and joined the navy, afterwards settling in Portsea Island, Portsmouth. Maurice as a family name has lasted in my family too. It would be interesting to see if we had some relationship!

That is my great grandfather - I have got quite a long way with the Kidneys - the trouble now with going back before Maurice is that although I know his parents' names, records of course are harder to come by. I am also after Lydia's family - the Newmans; she was born in Dublin but all her brothers and sisters were born in England. Thanks for your interest!

Hi Doreen not sure if you have any luck in finding Maurice Kidney, but on the 1901 census there is a Maurice Kidney (Naval pensioner - born abt 1849)living in Portsmouth who was born Queenstown, Ireland who is married to a Lydia Sarah Kidney born Dublin & their children (Agnes, Maurice, Wm Patrick & Mary)

Doreen--I'm just beginning to research my family hisory and know that my great grandfather, Maurice Kidney, was from Cove (Queenstown) Ireland. His father James was born sometime in the mid-late 1840s, he married Ellen Fitzgeral, but I do not know too much more about him. perhaps there is a connection. The name Maurice has stayed in my family--my father, grandfather and great grandfather.

while researching the marriage of John Bransfield to Mgt.Kidney at Lisgoold Co. Cork,( 5th Oct 1862 witness william hegarty and timothy kidney) I took some photos of Kidney grave stones in Templecurreen Carrigtwohill and most had a Ballyannon connection

md. 08 Dec 1856 to Elizabeth Pocock.
I have the 1851 Census in Quebec for this family.
Also have some historical.

The only thing he gave me was a memorial from Jesse Kidney's civil war company. I have a picture of your grandparents wedding that belonged to mey mogther. I think I also have some snapshots of him that she had. I would love to have any informatin you receive and copies of pictures. I also have a photo album that was my grandvather's and have no idea who the pictures are of. There is a picture of Jesse Sr. in the Ulster Guard web page. Barb

I've recently contacted Gary Kidney and sent him some family photos that I had. Did Dad ever mention who he might have lent some photos to. He might have lived in Minnewaska or Mohonk. Iam looking for my great grand mother Anna Marie Kidney.she lived in Tryone co Northern Ireland. Almost in Fermanagh co.The name of the town was Fivemile Town.I got to go there it is a farming town. She came to Chicago in then meet her husband. Henry carlson. Came to Nebraska in they married in July of 1876. In Adams Co. then moved to franklin Nebraska.
I can't find what year she came over to the USA. Are what port. I have heard she was a baby. Who she came with?

Dwyers and Kidneys?

Is there some connection between the names Dwyer/Dwyre and Kidney? My ggg grandmother is Bridget Kidney (m Edward Blake in Missouri in 1858), with birth listed in Ireland. Her mother, however, is a Mary Dwyre. Also, in searching for her sister Ellen under then name Ellen Kidney, I have ran across an Ellen Kidney living with a Catherine Dwyer. Are these two families related? Is it some sort of name change/Anglicization of Dwyer? Any info would be helpful!

Mary-My mother was Irene Kidney, Clarences cousin. Her father was George's brother Jesse. Check the Ancestry.com family tree site for Kidney/Bush. Pleasg get in touch with me about your family. My name is Ruth Kidney Johnson and I live in Newport, KY. My grandfather's name was George Kidney. My dad was James A. Kidney, Sr. and I had an uncle George, Lawrence (Larry), Luke, and Bill that I remember. They must be your second cousins. My father James (Jim Kidney) died when I was 19 and I am now 52. I do remember the name Lula Kidney but not more than that.

I have very little information on the Kidney family. However, there is a Ken Mueller that responded to me on here and he had quite a bit of information on Kidneys. If I find any information out I will post. Thank you.

My name is James Ansley Arch. My grandmother was Lula Ward. She married Harley Samford Ward. Her maiden name was Lula Kidney. She had a daughter, Elizabeth Louise Ward. She was my mother. Arthur Charles Arch married her in KY. She had two sons. Harley Joseph Arch and James Ansley Arch. George Kidney, James Kidney, William Kidney, and Luke Kidney are second cousins to me. They are brothers but I don't know if they are alive today. I know that some of there children are. I am interested in gettion to know more about my grandfather and mother. I have Samuel Kidney in my family tree data base. He was in Bucks County, Pa. born April 3, 1796. His wife was Hanna Hoffert, 17 June 1797. Samuel is my ancestor,my 3rd, great grandfather. Source is the Bucks Co. Historical Society. His father was John, married to "Catherina."

The following is from old family stories with absolutely no proof. I have never located him anywhere except Ohio.

My gggrandfather, Nelson Kidney (b. c 1806 in Georgia)parents were originally from Spain and settled in Georgia. He had followed immigration to New York, Pennsylvania and finally to the Ohio northwest, where carpenters were needed. About 1833 he married Elizabeth(Betsy) Anne Clark who was born March 5, 1816, in PA of a combination of French, Holland-Dutch and Spanish parentage. They probably married in eastern PA, as some of their children were born there. Aurilla, Nelson Jr., and Alfaretta (m.1871 Henry H. Woods) were born in Stark Co., OH.

I have seen a Nelson Kidney b. 1819, connected to this family, however I'm not convinced it is the same Nelson Kidney.

Was John the only Kidney who came to America from Barbadoes? He was born there but died in Albany NY. The name is suppposed to have come from Ireland and there are still Kidney's there. Don't have any link but would like to know more about the Barbadoes family.

Hi Doreen, just seen your posting re Maurice Kidney. My grandparents Daniel & Elizabeth Hennessy were from Cork / Ringaskiddy area & my grandmother maiden name was Kidney born 1881.

What is interesting my grandfather joined the Royal Navy abt 1906 & between 1901 & 1908 Elizabeth Kidney left Cork for Portsmouth,(Portsea Island) Hampshire where she married my grandfather in 1908. Its believed that their was a close connection in Cork between the Kidneys & Hennessy's which resulted in their marriage in Portsmouth in 1908.

Her father name was Timothy Kidney born abt 1855 & I believe her mother name was Mary McCathy born abt 1868 (possibly his second wife)the names of her brothers & sisters, Minnie born 1874, a brother Timothy born 1876, Kathleen 1883, Patrick born 1886, Hannah born 1891.

I wonder if there is a connection, could Maurice be a brother of GG grandfather. Long shot but you never know.

I am trying to research my husband's "tree".
His gr grandfather Edward/Edwin/Edmund Herlihy married a Jane Sullivan (daughter of Patrick Sullivan and Nora Kidney).
I am searching for any information on Jane (her birth abt. 1845, her marriage abt. 1865) and any info on her parents.
The county in Ireland is Cork somewhere near the City of Cork.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

my grandmother on my fathers side was named Stella Kidney. from what i understand she was from Patterson,NJ. I have no clue who her parents were. i know of possibly 2 siblings by the names of Arthur Kidney and Irene Kidney. Stella married a man by the name of Walter Jesse Allison who at some time or another moved the family to the New Paltz,New York area. My father Vernon Allison was born in New Paltz. i would appreciate any help you could give as to any relationship between these names. sounds like Samuel Kidney could have been my grandmothers father/or possibly an uncle.

Frederick is a common name in my family. My great grand-mother was Margeret Nash and she married my great grand-father Frederick Kidney. They had a few children one was my grand-dad William(whilly)Kidney. My Dad's name is Frederick.

Searching for any information on a George Kidney who married Lola Davidson Stafford in Redfern NSW AUSTRALIA in 1922. I have no details about him ie birth or death. the only information I have is that George & Lola resided in Roxborough Street, West Maitland NSW AUSTRALIA in 1930 then in Kings Road, Darlinghurst, NSW AUSTRALIA in 1936.
