Anthony Kilkenny married Anne Charles and had 8 children. Anthony and Anne were born about 1830 - not sure where. Ther children's names were Patrick, james, Margaret, Mary, John, Susan, Peter and Bridget

Hello!

I am looking to learn more about my great great great great grandfather Matthew Kilkenny, specifically who his parents were and where they came from.

His stats:

B: 1834 - Boyle, County Roscommon
D: About 1910/1911 - Boyle, County Roscommon

He and his wife Anne Dillon gave birth to Joseph, John, Bernard, Mary, Matthew, Patrick, Anne/Annie, James, Elizabeth/Lizzie, and Owen (my great great great grandfather.)

Any help would be much appreciated!

Mohill in those days was a Barony. I am a Kilkenny from the parish of Cloone. But in doing research I have found the same person listed as being born in the parish of Cloone, also in the Barony of Mohill. The dates could be off by a couple of days. The reason, you had a few months to register in the Barony (British Law) before they would fine you. Birth-dates changed to avoid the fine.

Those are my grandparents. I was searching info about Christopher Borgman who is my great grandfather and ran across this post.

I remember George living in Ted's barn down below his home in Tunnelton.

Calvin Homer Wilson b.1875 Athens Co. Ohio,died 1970 at Zanesville, Muskingum, Ohio. He is buried at Oakwood Cemetery near Corning Ohio. He was marrid in 1903 to Mary Kilkenny, b.1885 in Monroe Twp., Perry Co., Ohio and died 1953 near Corning , I think Ostego.

Mrs. Mary J. Wilson, age 68, wife of Homer Wilson, near Corning (Otsego) died at 1:00 o’clock Saturday after a lingering illness.

A lifelong resident of Perry County, she had spent most of her life near Corning.

Surviving in addition to her husband are 3 sons, Wilfred of Otsego; Cecil of the home; and Arnold Wilson of New Straitsville.;

4 brothers; Walter Kilkenny of Corning; Roy Kilkenny of Canton; Webster Kilkenny of Douglas City, Arizona and George Kilkenny of West Virginia.

4 sisters; Mrs. Nora Morgan of Hemlock; Mrs. Dolly Beavers and Mrs. Alice Wall both of Columbus; and Mrs. Catherine Buck of Buckingham, Ohio.

4 Grandchildren; Mrs. Mildred Kochs of Columbus; Mrs. Velma Davis of Zanesville; Wilfred Wilson Junior of Guam, and David Wilson of new Straitsville and 2 great grandchildren.

Service at 2:00 o’clock, Monday afternoon at the Corning Methodist Church with Rev. George Eley officiating. Burial will be in the Millertown Cemetery.

You have the wrong parents for Thomas...could be a connection with bridget carney, there was a john kilkenny mentioned on anthony's naturalization process, however state death index spells his name differently.
bridget was NOT his mother. thomas was born in abt 1841, New York.buried at Millertown ..check out www.findagrave.com

Grandmother Ellen was born 1-1-1877 and had a sister Margt.
Ellen entered the US at Boston, Mass at the age of 19 or 20. That's all the proven info I have.

I am ALSO related to the to Anthony Kilkenny that married Nora Anne James.
He was descended from Ted Kilkenny, son of George Potter Kilkenny. George's brother Walter was so sweet...I miss him still. Anthony and Nora A. Kilkenny are my Great Great Grandparents., Tom and Rilla my Great grandparents. My mother stayed with Rilla a lot, in fact Rilla practically raised Mom.George's sister was a twin Callie Kilkenny Buck.

Also Dennis Kilkenny married a woman by the name of Edith Galbraith Hall who just happened to be the step grand daughter of my great aunt (paternal side) katherine Galbraith

I think I might be able to help you out, my great grandfather was Michael Kilkenny from Liscat, near Knock in Mayo and she married someone called Cuttle - her sister Catherine also married a Cuttle but I have no idea if they were related. As far as I know there were 8 in the family but no James (I could br wrong on this). Their parents were Patrick Kilkenny and Mary Cunnane.

Anthony and John Patrcik's father was John Kilkennny, born in Mayo in 1825 died in Kansas in 1889. John did have a brother named Anthony Kilkenny (born in 1822 in Mayo and died in 1900 in Kansas. Anthony was married to Bridget Robinson. Have been unable to locate information on Anthony and John's father.
