Just a note to lt you know that I have just noticed your message and to let you know that I, too, am a descendant of Richard and Ursulla, through their son, Benjamin. I am from Canada, just north of Montana, so at one time we were in close proximity, within a few hundred miles, if that can be called close. My mother was born in Oregon, and came to Canada with her mother, who was a Kimball. I have no information on any of Richard and Ursulla's other children, with the exception of Abigail. I do not know her spouses name, but have a daughter listed as Elizabeth Severans. Her descendency line goes to Daniel Webster. This information was obtained from a book entitled, "Life of Heber C. Kimball." My relationship to you would be quite distant, probably quite similar to your co-worker.
Duane

I checked the source given by Carroll, but couldn't find any information about Amos in the Morrison Sharples book, but did find him listed in Volume II of "History of the Kimball Family in America". This volume covers generation 7 of the descendants of Richard Kimball who immigrated to the US in 1637. More information about Amos is detailed in Volume III covering generation 8. The information Carroll lists is correct.

The original book by Morrison and Sharples, revised in 1988, contains corrections and additions to the book by the Kimball Family Association, a non-profit organization researching the Kimball genealogy. Volumes II & III were published in 2011. If anyone is interested in getting these books, they are only available on the The Kimball Family Association site (kimballfamilyassociation.com).

I've seen a lot of books being sold of the old original 1897 that have been photocopied and reprinted, but this book contains a lot of errors and omissions. It also costs more to buy it than the revised editions. Besides, there is no need to buy this book as it is available online through "Internet Archive" at http://www.archive.org/stream/historyofkimball00morr/history....

I volunteer as the Web & Newsletter Chair for the non-profit organization, The Kimball Family Association. If anyone on this discussion forum is interested, I've created a Facebook page for KFA. I'm really not a huge fan of FB, but it has a lot of built in features that our KFA org. can leverage quickly such as a way for anyone to post to the Wall, add photos to the Photo Galleries, and add useful links.

You can check it out, and if it has any value for you, follow our organization, at
http://www.facebook.com/pages/Kimball-Family-Association/185.... KFA also has its own site with more information about the Kimball descendants of Richard Kimball who emigrated to America in 1634. Go to www.kimballfamilyassociation.com to find out more.

Samuel (Asa) and Maria Kimball - parents of Wyman P., Samuel M., Benjamin F., and Daniel H. among others.

First, my apologies for listing the subject as is, but it coves a wide variety of researchers who have been looking for the real identity of the parents of Wyman, Samuel, Benjamin "Frank" and Daniel, as well as Sarah Ann, Hannah, and likely several others.

I recently came across a legal brief document, published in 1876, in Concord, NH, which details the plight of Maria (nee Meacham) Kimball Dalton Phillips. It is a sad story, especially towards the end of her long lift, but based on the accounting given, it is about as "nail on the head" as any genealogical evidenciary might be. For several years, we've known the mother of these children was "Maria", and had thought, based on solid research, that the father was named Samuel. The case of Sullivan v. Grafton in 1875, proves otherwise. Maria (Miram Meacham in IGI records), was born in 1794, and married Asa Kimball in 1810. They lived together about 30 years, before Asa "moved on", and was apparently not heard from thereafter. These dates fit with some of their children ending up in Enfield Shaker Colony, in 1837, perhaps the year Asa "deserted" the family.

Maria/Miriam, went on to live into the 1870s, and the case in 1875 provides details on two later marriages. One to a Mr. dalton, and later to a Mr. Phillips, as she was called Maria Phillips in 1875. I have a customized PDF of the greater details of the case, which I would most happily share with others. It's also on Google Books, if you wish to download the FULL version of Volume 55 of the State of NH Superior Court book... The abridged version I've created is under 1Mb, while the full volume 55 in PDF is over 35 Mb.

If interested, please e-mail me at jedh@jedh.com and I'll happily send on the extracted pages for your reading pleasure.

There is SO much more to this story, but I wanted to quickly share the "find" with all those of you who have also been seeking the KIMBALL connection for Wyman, Samuel, Benjamin Franklin, Daniel Harvey, and other Kimballs of this family line.

Cheers,

Jared
I show that he married Ruth Pierce on 2-03-1946 at the Nauvoo Temple. From your list he married several other women at the same time. This was shortly before they left Nauvoo. She did not go with him. She was married to Monroe Crozier at that time and pregnant with a daughter. They had several children already and went on to add one more son to their family. Ruth was one of the wives who separated from Heber. She married John Harrington after Monroe died in 1859 and they had a daughter.

What can you tell me about Heber's marriages to these women at that time?

Re: Searching for info on my father, Ray Melvin Kimball
All I know is the following: He lived in Colorado Springs, Texas around 1951 when he met my mother, Bobbie Dee Hall. They were married that same year and had twins, Linda and Larry Kimball. They were divorced Oct.12,1953 in the county of Upton, Rankin, Texas i the 112th district court of Upton County, Texas - I have the Divorce decree. On the Birth Certificates - Dec.29,1951 he was 25yrs and worked as a Driller for a company "Gay,Inc." It also states he was in the Marine Corp and his discharge # 558033. I also have Birth Certificate for myself, Judy M. Kimball DOB Jan.26 1953 in San Deigo, CA. His job at that time was stated as an Oil Field Worker. I heard he had been married before and had kids from that marriage. He disappeared before I was born and was never heard from again. Can anyone shed any light on him?

Harold Raymond Kimball

I'm looking for clarification, I have a Harold Raymond Kimball(my step grandfather) who married my grandmother Rose Kathleen (Follis) Skidgell. Parents of Harold are Clarence Kimball and Blanche. Born April 2, 1912 in Washburn, ME. I also have a Harold R. Kimball who married Katherine Skidgell (Katherine is my grand aunt) parents of Katherine are Benjamin G. Skidgell and Catherine Taylor. Now both of this Harold's are born in the same time frame but have no info on the Harold who married Katherine to determine if same person or not. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Tina Skidgell Hollis
t_67_23525@yahoo.com

Please write to me concerning Buckner Kimball...anyone know any Buckners married into the Kimbell line earlier on to give him this name? MikeJessieCheek at cs.com My husband descends from a Thomas Peyton of Granville Co., NC who perhaps was married to Mourning Buckner in 1791. His older daughter, Sarah Peyton married Nathan Kimbell, whose great-uncle was this Peter Kimbell who named a son Buckner Kimbell. We are looking for Kimbell and Buckner connections earlier on...maybe even Buckner and Peyton connections earlier on. Hope you have time to write. My husband descends from Thomas Peyton's later wife, Nancy Griffin, whom he married in Morgan Co., AL in 1822. Sincerely,
Jessie Cheek

In the "History of the Kimball Family" by Morrison and Sharples in 1897 # 1107 lists:
Moses Kimball [Moses, Jacob, Stephen, Richard, Benjamin, Richard] born in Bradford Massachusetts 29 Oct, 1806 died 27 Nov 1846. Married 26 Aug 1834 to Mary L Bruce of Brooklyn, NY born 26 Aug 1809. He was in business in New York and resided there. He was lost on the steamer "Atlantic" on his way to New York. His widow married Samuel H Howard. She was deceased by 1897.
Children:
1 Kimball, Mary Anna b 28 Sept 1837 Married John Clinton Blair.
Re: James Clark Kimball of Maryland

Thankyou! I have the 1900 Census and My family is as follows James C kimball 35
Sarah M (Geise) 40) Joseph Mayo kimball 12 Annie Louise 9
(My GM) James C Jr 5 Julia M 3 and Mary C 4/12 they lived in Baltimore City and I think the family you are refering to was in Harford County Md.
I thankyou for taking the time to look up the information. I am planning on buying the Kimball Family book. As I know if I can can prove the migration to Md from Maine the rest will fall in line to the New England states and Europe.
My problem is all the older family is dead and I never knew any cousins /aunts/ uncles or grand parents. So I can only peice together history from records. And since the census is not available for 1940 and later I have been at a stand still.

In the 1900 census, James C Kimall, age 35 and wife Sarah M Kimball age 40 with 5 children were living in Baltimore.
In the 1880 census, the name is spelled Kinball and the mother is listed as Annie Sutton, a widow. Ephriam died 12 Feb 1877 in Baltimore as indicated by one source. Ann apparently married a Mr Sutton after 1877 but he soon died as she was listed as a widow.
1880 Census;
Sutton, Ann age 39
Kimball, James age 16
Kimball, Joseph W age 12
Kimball John M age 10
Kimball, Catherine age 7
In the 1870 census, we find the name spelled Kimmell, living in the household of James and Catherine Hubbard.
Ann is listed with 3 children, James, joseph and john with their father, Ephram, who is listed as born in Maine.
Ann's maiden name was Bouchet and in 1860 was living with James J Hubbard and Catherine who is probably her mother. The 1870 census shows Catherine old enough to be her mother.
The History of the Kimball Family in America by Morrison and Sharples in 1897 # 1473, a Clark Kimball born 26 Nov 1798 in Bethel Maine and married to Hannah Willis.
Children are
1. Joseph W Kimball b 1 march 1821 in Bethel, Maine - family listed
2. Ephraim Kimball born 31 May 1825 - no family listed
3. Jonas Willis Kimball b 24 March 1827 died 10 Apr 1827
4. Dorcas Barbour Kimball b 18 jan 1829
Clark Kimball parents are Samuel Kimball, born in Andover Massachusetts and Hannah Clark born in Gagetown, New Brunswick, Canada.
Samuel was the son of Asa Kimball, whom I descend, was born in Massachusetts, lived in New Brunswick about 1770-1775 and moved eventually to Bridgdon and Bethel Maine.
Asa's ancestry is [Jacob, Richard, John, Richard, Richard- who came from England in 1634.]
I've added these details in case you do not have access to the Kimball book.
Carroll
