Hi, I'm looking for information on this part of my family line. I know only of my grandmother, her siblings and her father with the name Kingston-Miles. I am told that some of my great grandfather's family also go by Miles-Kingston. Here is a decendancy of my greatgrandfather. Any help getting beyond what I have found would be greatly appreciated. All I know is that they are English and from around the London and Norfolk areas. Thanks

My Gt Gt Grandmother was Frances Ellen Kingston-Miles sister of Stephen K-M who was the father of the Stephen K-M that married Agnes May Linton.

My gt gt grandmother was Frances Ellen Kingston-Miles, daughter of William Kingston and Harriet Ashby. We have no idea where the Miles came from, although have found that William & Harriet were calling themselves Miles in the 1871 census...!
Frances, who often calls herself Ellen, married Charles Henry Allen, parents of my gt grandmother Harriet. Ellen died in 1913 of cancer followed a few months later by her husband Charles, who fell off a moving trolley bus.
William Kingston was born in Chisbury, Wilts and worked as a labourer on the railways until the mid 1850s when he became a dock labourer in the London Docks. He met Harriet Ashby and was married in Harbury, Warwickshire in 1852.
The Kingston-Miles/ Allens settled in the Plaistow/Walthamstow area for many years until my Mum married my Dad and they moved to Beds/Herts and now I am in Cambs!
Which of the Kingston-Miles do you trace back to? I know Frances Ellen had a number of siblings including William, Edward, Stephen and James among others.
Would love to hear if you have any more information - or can shed light on the double barrelled name!
