My mother susan died in 1994 my grandmother Charlotte died 1994 and it looks like Rose my great grandmother also died in 1994 but I don't know when Sheila my grandmothers little sister died. I'm 71...Jewish. I have a brother...Steve Meyer who lives in Amarillo. Apparently he sent you a message awhile back when his wife found your name. I'm getting generations mixed up. Charlotte was your grandma and her sister...not their mother Rose died the same year? And jack is your grandma'S brother??? Are you in your 30s? I have 2 Sons in their 40s.

Well I always wanted a big family but never knew my grandmother had any siblings or even that her mother might still be alive. My grandmother died of lung cancer and my mother died of a drug over dose when I was 20 years old. My grandmothers sister died from Brain cancer at least that's what great uncle Jack tells me.

I think it's great to find a living family member. Can I ask you a question? What's your religion and how old are you. Do you have any siblings?

I'M probably not able to offer too much info....will be searching just like you. This may be a little too personal...but your gr. Grandma, grandma and your mother died the same year. That is so sad. What happened?
Wish I would have been in contact with my Aunt Rose. Had thought about her so many times throughout the years. My dad, her brother, died young...62. Had you been in touch with any of the siblings? Guess the whole family was not interested in knowing each other. I have felt I have cousins but didn't know how to find them. Finding you is great.

My mother had two brothers and only one of my uncles live. He's mentally unwell so he lives in a care facility in Los Angeles his name is Blair. I live in Livermore, Ca my twin sister lives in Chesterfield, VA. We pretty much are all we have. We have one cousin named Kirsty and she is my uncle Brian's daughter he passed when she was 3 years old. I found her 3 years ago on Facebook.. I am also very excited to find a family member. I wish my grandmother would have been open about her history. I'm starting from scratch so I have only spoken to her brother a couple of times..

I moved to Marshall, TX 20 hrs ago ...lived in Glendale most of my life prior to then. I don't remember any of Rose's kids. So sad. Your mother died so young. Are the other siblings still alive? Have you found any of Rose,s siblings. My dad was Albert. He died in 1972. Where do you live? I am very excited to find you.

Interesting my mothers name was Susan Smith daughter of Charlotte Kirschner Which was Rose and Morris first born then they had Jack and Sheila. Never met my great uncle or aunt but found Jack and spoke to him 2 years ago. My maiden name is Abrams (Jennifer Abrams) also known as JJ but now I'm Jennifer Gonzalez.

I didn't even know her children who were my cousins. My maiden name is Meyer (Susan Meyer). Its Lynch now. There were several siblings to Rose and Albert. Thanks for responding. I am sorry, but we are not of the same Kirschner family, at least in this generation. Maybe as we go back further, we would connect. Our family is located in the Neckarkreis of Wuerttemberg, Germany in the Esslingen area which is down further south than the locations you gave.

I noticed that there was a request to do research for hire on your post. I have used a man named Martin Koepple that I found through the Ancestry Hire an Expert. He was very fair and thorough.

Additionally, Reinhold emigrated from Germany to Bogota, Colombia in 1935. He married my grandmother, Auguste Julianne Kirschner (nee Werner) in Bogota on March 7th, 1938. My mother, Auguste Friederke Marie Kirschner, was born in Bogota on July 17th, 1939. The family left Bogota for the United States, entering through Miami, March 4th, 1946, on a Pan Am flight originating in Barranquilla. While I have record of their entry into the U.S., I have been unable to find any information in Colombia substantiating their residency there though this is attributable to poor record keeping, deliberate records destruction and other factors at play during that period of Colombian history. If anyone has any thoughts as to how I might further clarify this part of their history, I'd appreciate it greatly.

This is what I have on this part of the family. My grandfather's history in Germany remains enigmatic.

I have found info on Friedrich's parents, his father was born in Saderlach and was one of the intial family settlers of Kowatchi.

I am still searching info on Emalie Kirschner, b 1864.

She may have been previously married. Family lore has that she had a son, Stefan Berezcksi or something similar (this is phonetic).

Lore also says Friedrich had a daughter Barbara.

their daughter Louisa/ alouisa married Stefan Horvath. I have no other info on them either.

My Kirschners are Nicholas (b. 27 Dec 1874 in Panscova Hungary), his wife Sophia (b. 2 Apr 1876 in Panscova) and their two kids both born in Panscova, Matthew b.1894 and Sophia b.1898. They immigrated through Ellis Island on 18 Nov 1910 on the Carpathia, sailed from Fiume. They settled in Los Angeles, CA.

Nicholas lists his nearest relative in his home country as his mother, Eva Kirschner in Panscova, but I don't know anything else about her.

My wife is the Great Granddaughter of Frank Kershner (Kirschner) and Selma "Salusha" Manikowski. Their daughter, Mary Ann Fabronia Kershner married Frank Maher.

April 24, 1845, a son of Charles and Wilhelmine(Schure) Ewald, natives of Prussia, who emigrated to the United States in 1858, settling in West Seneca, where he died December 24, 1893, and his wife February 22, 1885. Robert Ewald was educated in Germany and came to America with his parents; he attended school one winter, then learned the shoemaker's trade, which he followed for twelve years, and also kept a shoe store. He is now engaged in farming, being the owner of three farms, consisting of ninety-eight acres. Mr. Ewald is a Republican and served as justice of the peace eighteen years in succession and has been twice appointed tax collector. In 1867 he married Amelia Kirschner, born in Germany and came with her parents to America when a young girl. To Mr. and Mrs. Ewald have been born five children: Charles, Emilie, William, Mary and Anton. The family belong to the Evangelical church, in which Mr. Ewald has always held some office and taken active part; he is now president of the church. My family name is Zucker but my late grandfather, Jacob, was ZUCKERKANDEL. His father was called Solomaon and he had a brother Isaac and a daughter, Rose. The family lived in Poland in a village called. Podhitzy (this may not be the correct spelling).
Rose and my granfather survived the war but the remainder were lost in the holocaust

I recently bought some photos that seem to be related. One is identified as "Clara Zuckercondel, Sam Pelz's sister". This photo is of a young girl in a dark velvety dress with a lace front wearing a heart shaped locket. The photo was taken by Feinberg Studio located 228 Bowery in New York, New York. Sam Pelz lived in St. Louis, MO for a while.

The other Pelz photos consist of David Pelz, Sollie Solomon Pelz, and a Pelz woman taken in Bromberg, Germany. David Pelz and his family lived in MO, OK, and I believe NY. Sollie is enumerated in the census with his wife Ernestine and their children.

I'm not related, but I would like to connect this photo with a family researcher.

She was born Dec. 17, 1945, to Virginia and Frank Buffa in Beloit, Wis. She attended schools in Beloit, Maryland, Canada and Beirut. She graduated from the American Community School of Beruit, Lebanon. She also attended Northwestern University in Chicago.

She is survived by her mother, Virginia Buffa, brothers, Jay Buffa and Todd Buffa, Green Bay; and one nephew, Avery Buffa, Chicago.

She was preceded in death by her father, grandparents, aunts and uncles.

I was born in Crystal City on February 14, 1931. My parents named me after the local doctor, Robert F. Martin. When I was about eight years old, I won a spinach-eating contest held in the shadow of the famous Popeye statue. As a reward, I was introduced to the crowd at the rodeo held in conjunction with the Spinach Festival. I got to ride a horse to the center of the rodeo arena to be introduced.

My dad worked for Piggly Wiggly and later owned his own grocery store, which was called Kirk's Cash and Carry. It was located on the town's main street. We lived a few blocks from the large brick elementary school, and not too far from the band park and the Baptist church.

I graduated from the eighth grade in Crystal City and remember several of my teachers: Miss Penshorn (who later married Mr. Ray, another of our teachers), Miss Reed, and Mr. Campbell, our principal. Hispanic youngsters attended their own elementary school and so did African-American youngsters. We competed against the Hispanic students in baseball, and were friends off the school grounds; however, as I remember it, we did not attend elementary school together.

I have lots of fond memories of those years. My parents separated when I was about twelve years old, and my mother and I moved first to Arizona, then back to Crystal City, then to California where my family and I live today.

My dad, in later years, worked at the internment camp and even later yet as a night watchman for Del Monte.

I had four older brothers: A G, Knox, James, and Henry. Two are still living. My brother A G established a scholarship a few years ago in memory of his deceased wife. The scholarship grants $1,000 yearly to a high school senior from Crystal City who plans to become a teacher.

I think my husband's were from Prussia/Austria too, way back, but we can't get beyond India, (grandfather) yet. I wondered if any of your rellies, particularly Ernest Herbert K. went to India at any stage? He was born circa 1870.
