Kitcher is the closest I've found to KITCHUR on here. I'm searching for info on a Jacob Kitchur/KYCHUR/Kiczur & wife Mary Makohoniak/ MAKOHANICK m1910 in wpg. also his brother sylvester jozef Kitchur/KYCHUR/Kiczur & wife Rosalia m??, immigrated to canada 1909 from galacia.

Convict Henry Kitcher born 1818

I found a Henry Kitcher born 1818, who was transported
for 14 years. Where does he fit?
Here is some information
Henry Kitcher b. 1817/8
5 foot 2 inches 23 years old.
single, Protestant, Southampton Assizes.
offence: Sheep stealing / not known
Stealing Shoes / 3 months
Stealing ducks / 1 month
Having tobacco in
his possession / 7 days cell
Once for fighting 7 days
If he did time for these offences why did he get transported,they must have needed "settlers".

He was sentenced to 14 years transportation / Van Diemens Land
He left Portsmouth 12/4/1841 and landed in Tasmania 21/8/1841
I found him on a Convict Muster( census) in 1849
They usually served their sentence plus 3 years probation.

It doesn't look like he had a ticket to leave.
So, he must have remained there.
Does anyone have him in their family?

May I repeat my request for information regarding JRLK?
He lived in Westrow, Southampton, for many years and I believe he was married twice.
JRLK was born near Ashford, Kent, in 1903 and died in Malta (on holiday?)in 1974.
He married Elsie Jeanette Lewis on November 7 1925, and his address was given as Hicknor Cottage, North Stoneham.
His occupation at that time was Asphalt Chemist.
Was he an engineer to do with roads? I was told he had something to do with the old Winchester and Basingstoke by-passes. Also with The Mall in London which apparently at one time was used to research traffic wear.
One member of his family, Angela, was killed in a plane crash in the Isle of Wight in 1957.

Kitcher is not my direct family, it was a distant relative line. If your really interested in the Kitcher family, give Angie (Kitcher, Canada) an email at akitcher@shaw.ca she has every Kitcher under the sun!
I havent touched my family tree for 4 years or more since I managed to get over 10,000 names, 4,000 different surnames..I then was sent a virus which in turn, lost all my 23GB of information and somehow made all the CDROMs full of info redundant. sorry.

I have reason to believe his daughter Angela was killed in the flying boat crash on the Isle of Wight in the 50s.

Just spotted your request for information on the Kitcher family. Ivor Idris Kitcher was my father and Carrie Goddard was my gran. I've added pictures of them to the website so you can do a search and see what they looked like. I've not been able to establish when Carrie died, I know it was approx 1968 but cannot find any records to support this. I can remember going around to her flat with my dad when I was about 6, she died shortly after that. My dad wrote a book called Just blame Doreen, it wasn't a great book but you can still find copies of it on the "Abe books" website. He used the name Jan Kitcher while writing.

James Richard Lavender Kitcher

I would appreciate any help regarding James Richard Lavender Kitcher, born Boughton Aluph, September 28 1903,
and died on October 2 1974 in Malta where he is buried.
His parents were James (a gamekeeper) and Edith Annie Kitcher (nee Hill) who were married on April 17 1902.
I know JRLK lived in the Hampshire area in the 30s and 40s and possibly later, but can find no trace of his marriage to Barbara Myra Buch, mentioned on the Malta death certificate.
Also I am curious to know why there is no marker on his grave in TaBraxia cemetery in Malta.

Aaron b. 1781 Boldre Hants. Married Sarah Falkner

His parents are Joseph b approx. 1749 and Anne Ayling
noted in Comyns New Forest.

I will let you know when another friend and I have sorted
out who the Father of Joseph b. 1749 is.
I put the wrong date down first of all for the Chelsea Aaron, that is what confused me, it doesn't take much.

The information on this Aaron in London is right, but I can't figure out who his parents are: there are too many
Aaron, Joseph and Henry's in the family. When I have sorted
it out I will let you know more.
The Census for him and Sarah Ann in Chelsea ( 1841 and 1851 are the ones though).

In Comyns New Forest(page 93) listed at NOS 21 is a Joseph Kitcher
(name was Kittier), and his wife Anne Ayling Kitcher

These are Aaron's parents.
Other children of Joseph and Anne are John, Anne ( Baker,Ford), Mary ( Colburne) Aaron ( Sarah Ann Falkner),
Thomas, Hannah( Macey), William, Jane, Charles, Elander,
and James b. 1796.
Joseph's Father is another Joseph b. 1719. not quite sure
who he married.
Then there is Aaron( Sarah Spett), Aaron Jr. ( unknown wife), Aaron ( Grace). Henry, Henry, and finally George.
I don't know if you have seen the Honey Family Tree done
by another Pateman, but he has a photo of Selina Caroline
(Kitcher) Pateman.
If you need anymore information I will be willing to share.

John Randall died before the Census in 1841.
1841 Jan/Feb/March quarter.
New Forest.
check this out to make sure it is the one.
Another John Randall died in 1841 at the end quarter.

I found that Thomas Randall married Mary Kitcher,
He is on the 1841 Census with his Mother and brother, James.
Then on the 1861 Census.
Thomas Randall, H.M. 38, Waterman,
Mary Randall, W.M. 40
Emily 16, Thomas 14, Samuel 10, Henry 6, Mary 5, and George 3.
He isn't on the 1871 Census as Mary is a Widow.
So he died between 1861 /1871. There is a death for
a thomas randall 1862 N.Forest A/M/J quarter.

In 1871 Census Dibden Dist. 9C
Mary Randall W.H. Washerwoman, Thos. Randall s. 24 seaman
Samuel Randall s. 20 Seaman. Henry Randall 17 seaman,
Mary Randall 15 Scholar, George 13, Scholar.
It seems they were all seamen, they probably took after
their father, Thomas.
1881 Census in Dibden,
Mary Randall H.W. Washerwoman
Henry Randall s. 27 Mariner
also nearby
103 : Samuel Randall, H.M Mariner
Charlotte H. Randall w.m.
Lily 7, samuel 5, Alfred 1.
104: Thomas Randall H.M. 34 Mariner
Ellen Randall W.M.
James 8, Ellen 6, Thomas 4, Albert 2 all were scholars.

Hello there!
I noticed you posted a thread on rootsweb some time ago, in which you mentioned my Gx3Grandad John Randall, Fawley, Hants.
I understand the family link with the Kitchers..that is to say Mary Kitcher and Thomas Randall and the family trail to date.
What I am really stumped on is what ever happened to John Randall. Although he had Thomas and James with Elizabeth(unknown). Thomas was last to be christened 12/1/1823. Elizabeth Randall is shown with her 2 sons on the 1841 census, but never any more records of him or his death.
I was therefore just wondering if you had any further information or could suggest where I could look?

A Mathilde KITSCHER was born in 1876 in Volhynia. See the databases at http://www.odessa3.org/collections/stpete/volhynia/

I do not know why Theophilies name is not recorded for 1880. Perhaps the surname is badly misspelled or she may have been missed in the conversion of local Kantor books to the Pastor's book.

This records should also help with your Rothenberger line.

Some of the things in your posting sound familiar to me.
I have Joseph Kitcher/Kittier born/bpt in 1719, he is
Aarons Father. Joseph's Father is Aaron Jr. bpt.
1690, his Father is Aaron born before 1670 and
his Father is Henry Kittier born around 1630.
Henry came from Arnewood, Hordle and was a yeoman.
(meaning he owned land,leased from a Mr. Bond).
Joseph had a brother, Aaron bpt. in 1715, and
my line comes from him.

Thanks a lot for the information, but I don't think the Mathilda born 1876 belongs to the family I'm looking for. I have traced her parents, Carl KITCHER and Louise SCHULTZ to the United States, where they took their young family. I know that my great-grandmother Theophilie was an adult when she came directly from Volhynia to Halifax, Nova Scotia, via Liverpool, England. She was never in the US, as far as anyone now living knows.

Hi,
I'm not sure whether there is a link or not is my honest answer! I haven't found any relatives in Hale yet. My part of the Kitcher family has lived in Southampton since the 1870s and before that lived in Fawley and Boldre. It would be worth finding out more about Dorothy Mona Kitcher - especially her birth certificate, which will help with when and where she was born and who her parents were.

Sorry, can't help with Henry Joseph, but my paternal grandmother was Dorothy Mona Kitcher of Hale or Woodfalls area. I know nothing of her family except that she had a sister, whom I vaguely remember when a child, called 'Aunt Lil' who still lived at Hale. She married my grandfather, William Deacon from Woodfalls. She died Sept 1983 aged 85. She and my Grandad, who died in 1952 were married in Eling Church, Totton. Could she possibly be related to your family?

Having had difficulty finding my GGGF Charles Kitcher in the 1871 census using Ancestry.co.uk, I found him eventually transcribed as Ritcher. I then searched for other possible Kitchers transcribed as Ritcher who had been born in Hampshire and came up with the attached list. I have checked quite a few of these and I am sure they are Kitcher, especially the Fawley ones. Please run your own checks on the images but it may help find missing links.

Does anyone know where Moses Kitcher was born? It was around 1760 according to his burial records in Boldre (1812, aged 52).

I know he married Elizabeth Reade in 1789 in Boldre (lived in Shirley Holmes).

I know it is not the Moses Kitcher, son of Joseph and Rachel in 1755 in Boldre (as he died in 1829 in Boldre).

I've just found that one of my relatives, Ada Florence Kitcher married a Henry Joseph Kitcher in 1921 in Southampton. Ada was already a Kitcher by birth, so I'm assuming she married some kind of distant/other relative. I'd like to find out where Henry comes from and what relative he might be. Does anyone know anything about him?
