Ada's parents names are William Kitteringham and Sarah EnglandWilliam's Parents are Joseph Kitteringham and Sarh. Sarah England's Prents are James England and Elizabeth

I am related to Ada Kitteringham through Sarah England and William Kitteringhan; there son George came to Australia.

George Kitteringham. 49, former Rockford high school football captain, former coach and sports official died suddenly at' a, Rockford hospital yesterday morning from a heart attack. "Kitty," as he was known to his friends, was a representative of the Illinois boxing commission, visited Freeport on numerous occasions and had many friends here.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at Masonic cathedral. Rockford. Very Rev. George W. Ridgway. rector of Emmanuel Episcopal church, will conduct the services and interment will be made in Willwood Burial park, Rockford. Masonic rite will be conducted at the grave.

Mr. Kitteringham captained the 1910 Rockford high school football team, considered one of the best at Rockford history. He later attended Lake Forest college where he also played football but was forced to withdraw from school because of the death of his father. He had been engaged in the sporting goods business at Rockford for a number of years. He is survived by his wife and a son. His mother, Mrs. Lillie j Kitteringham, also resides at Rockford.

Your Eliza Jane Kitteringham I thought just might have been my ggrandfather William b 24 ec 1824 Rotherhithe (not 1836 as you say)sister.
He married Sarah England at Parish Church, Kennington, Surrey, 22 Aug 1847.(1)
They had my grandmother Ada Eliza Kitteringham b 27 Mar 1862 (2).
She married my grandfather David Gray Parish Church, Poplar London 14 Sept 1890 (3)
I have certificates for (1,2,3)

I was pleased to read your query dated 2 march 2005.
The Eliza Jane Kitteringham b 1839 is my GGr mother and
the link with WILLIAM b1836 is cousins JOHN here father
and Williams father also WILLIAM were both born in
Northfleet, Kent. c1811-15.

I have Kitteringhams that were born in Rotherhithe, London.
I think there is a chance that your Eliza born 1839 could be a sister of my gt grandfather William Kitteringham b 24 Dec 1824, Rotherhithe.
My grandmother was Ada Eliza Kitteringham born 27 March 1862 in Poplar.

My interest in the Kitteringham name starts at my Paternal grandmother Ada Eliza Kitteringham b 27 March1862, 3, Gates St Poplar London.
Her father was William Kitteringham b 24 ADec 1824 Rotherhithe, Surrey (London)
His father was Joseph Kitteringham
Ada married my grandfather David Gray b 1 Dec 1865
Kris Gray who you have written to is my 2nd cousin, just found him recently
That's as far as I have got with my Kitteringhams.

Sarah Harper & Henry Kitteringham, children

Sarah Harper, daughter of Benjamin Harper (b.1801) and Mary Pendle Harper, married Henry Kitteringham, son of William and Sarah on 5 Dec 1840 in Norfolkshire. They came to the U.S.in 1852 and were in Dane County, Wisconsin in 1860. Known children include Mary, Martha, John and Elizabeth.

We have information about Sarah's siblings and will share.

Hi Kris - I noticed your posting, but haven't
had a chance to look thru the various data
I've been collecting for the names you
mentioned. I'm pretty sure I haven't seen
an Ada, but - would that be a variation of
another name, do you know? Do you know any of the
other family names? Apart from my own tree, I do have
quite a collection of other trees or individuals
with the Kitteringham name, that I don't know
where they fit in yet....I'll have a look and
get back to you.

My great grandmother was Ada Kitteringham who married David Gray on 14th September 1890 in Poplar, London. I haven't traced her date of birth as yet but she was 25 at the time of the marriage. Her fathers name was William but until I trace her birth I am Unable to say where the family originated.

It would be nice to hear from you, perhaps we are distantly related.
