Kiziah, Kizziah, Jackson Co, AL, 1800's

I have run across the Kiziah name in a few instances in Jackson Co, AL in the very early 1800's. I am interested in the family because of where they settled. Anyone familiar with the family - origin of the name, family history in northern AL, later emigration, etc.

I would love to have the picture of Thomas Kiziah. If you could send me a picture by email, it would be great. I also have the family traced back a little further but have met another roadblock. Thomas's father was Mathew Kisiah m. Martha Melinda(patsy) Harmon. Mathew b.1827 Martha b.1828 children W.Thomas, Alice, Amanda, Jane, Martha Katherine, Clementine,Roxanna, Sarah. I believe we are from the William Keziah branch in Union co. but it is not confirmed and I find no list with Mathew at this time. William's brothers all went to Alabama, Texas, and Georgia. Some then went on to Oklahoma. Very few stayed behind in North Carolina. So the family here is hard to trace. Please write me privately at kathy@aristy.us. I look forward to hearing from you.

I am looking for information on the Thomas Kiziah family. He also had a daughter Martha Etta Kiziah (Harris) my grandmother. She is also shown in the 1900 census in Caldwell co. in Thomas and Bettie's household. Her son John Harris is listed as Thomas's grandson. I have a picture of Thomas Kiziah and Bettie but very little information about the Kiziah family.

Gamewell Kiziah was born to W. Thomas Kiziah born in Caldwell County in 1857 and Bettie born 1855 They also had William M.1881 John Henry(my great grandfather)1885, Thomas D 1882, Dallas 1889, HattieM 1893.
Beyond this, I have yet to find. This info is from the 1900 Census of caldwell county.

I am looking for the parents of my g-grandfather Gamwell Kiziah( 6-1--1891 to 11-1971 ). Gamwell was married three times . First to my g-grandmother Ada Fox. When Ada died he married again . She died and he married a third time.

A fleeting thought: In your family line, is "S-H-E-L-T-O-N" ever spelled out like this in your geneology instead of Scholten, the way you spell your name? One of my great-great aunts married someone named SHELTON but no trace of him has been found to date.

Julia Ann KIZIAH b. December 31, 1841,d. March 13, 1897,m. John Seals COX b.January 12, 1837, d. February 14, 1901. They probably lived in Mississippi at one time but moved to Mt. Pleasant,Titus County, Texas and raised their family and both are buried side by side there in Titus County, Texas. These were great grandparents of mine. Unusual name, KIZIAH, no info about Julia's family. All the info available is her name the fact she is buried beside her husband, John Seal COX in a cemetery in Titus County, Texas. She was my great-grandmother and I would greatly appreciate any information you may have on her and her parents. Siblings, unknown, also.She John Seal COX had 5 children named: Caleb William COX; Joseph E. COX; Walter COX; Sallie COX; and Lou COX. Thank you for any information you can share with me.
