My name is Ismael Laboy my fathers name is the exact same my mom passed away 6 yrs ago her name was Alexandra Rivera Mercado from la cuarta Ponce PR. My moms mother name is Delia Mercado from la cuarta and her dads name is Felix Manuel Rivera dont kno where in PR from, my fathers side of family is a mystery to me since ive never met my grandfather but I believe his name was Santos Oner Laboy from playita cortada Santa Isabel who had 1 child with my grandmother Paula Rivera who lives in Singapur Juana Diaz PR. I lived Brooklyn NY ALL my life but was born in distrito de Ponce and my father Ismael Laboy was born in Santa Isabel hope somehow I can find some relatives by this means.

Thanks for the information. My son's last name is Laboy and I was web searching for information on its origins. Im pretty sure now that its origins are from France and other regions of Europe. We live in the island of Puerto Rico in the caribbean so a few centuries ago our island was discovered by Columbus and many europeans moved to the island in the colonization era. I know their is a William Donato Laboy who just passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2011 in Puerto Rico. I hope she found him before he passed away. He was a wonderful man, caring father, friend. I do miss him dearly. Please do get in touch with me I really would love to meet your sister I have so much to say and share with her...

I have several Laboys within my mothers side of family. All of them from Patillas. Maybe we share some people along the line. Laboy Ruiz, Garrafa, Feliciano, etc. Is there anyway you could forward me this information from the demographic office? It would absolutely help with the many twists and turns I have found. Thanks!

my laboy heritage is from france

well i understand almost everyone here is from an isnland called puerto rico stating thats where the last name laboy is from. my great grandparents from my fathers side came to america from Normandy France and i have a lot of family spread thoughout lots of france, even switzerland as well as england all being LaBoy i am french and spanish my mother being spanish and my father being french i am a LaBoy. and history was that early 1800's last name was La jeune garçon
meaning "the boy" all i can remeber my grandfather telling me was that they use to make fun of it cause it was just funny i guess but they figured La jeune garçon
meant "the boy" in english but i think i remember him telling me how my ancestors lived on the coast of france close to england so im guessing thats how they figured. but they liked it hence substituting it coming up with LaBoy. then after that family's migrated ending up in different places but my heritage is french and im proud.

I would love information about the Laboys. my great-great grandfather was Jose Laboy y Marrero who somehow ended up in Barros (Orocovis) went to Cidra and then ended up near Guayama.

Hi, my name is Pamela Marquis, I have been searching for information on my aunt Billie Lefoy, a 1930 Census came up for Billie LeBoy, that matched information I have for my aunt Billie LeFoy. After throughly searching this document, my aunt did have another home while working as a Head Nurse at the Talledega Blind & Deaf Hospital, she roomed with another Head Nurse at the hospital, this is where I met Mattie Coker. And the reason I know this is because as a child I use to spend a lot of weekends with her in the Nurse's Quarters, when she would have to stay there and take care of children and others, who could not go home, because of their disabilities. I knew she had to have, what she called another home. If you look closely at the document you can see, it really is a F and not a B, in the last name. Please make this change, to your listing, I know within my heart and without a doubt, that this is my great-aunt Billie LeFoy. Thank you for taking the time to read and respond to this post.

As far as I know my part of the Laboy family come from Orocobis P.R. are spread though to Aibonito, Cayey, Villaba, and as far as I know to Ponce. I know that there are Laboy's all over but I know that we are all one family that in and around the 1700's and came from Spain and France. I also know that we most look at the name Lamboy because it is a name that some of the Laboy's name come from. We most in some way try to see how and when the Laboy's around P.R.can some how get together and share all of the information that we all have to see in which way we can create the main FAMILY TREE.

I've been going to the LDS Family history center and I remember the name"Cachela Laboy" in the baptism section of the church records of Luquillo. That's all I know.

My Dad's name is Jose Laboy. When his ancestors came from Spain they settled in Italy, France & England. Originaly the named was spelled Lamboy. Thru the decades it became Laboy but both spelling R the same family. U will find a province in France by the name of Laboy, There r towns in Italy & Spain named Laboy. My paternal grandfather Was Laboy. His sons were Francisco, Peter, Raymond, and my dad, Jose. He had 1 daughter, Margarita. All have passed away but my dad. For I am Rosendo LaBoy jr, My father is Rosendo LaBoy Senior whos father is name David LaBoy sr and mother Carmen Llull. David LaBoy's senior's father name was Miguel Anthony LaBoy and mother's name Genoveva Bando LaBoy. I do not know when Miguel Past away but my grandfather David passed in 2004.

I wish I had details to share that pertain to your searches and I wish you all luck with your search. I am also in search for family with the last name Laboy. My paternal grandmother is Arsenia Laboy, uncle William Laboy. It is my understanding they lived in Luquillo PR or Maunabo PR. If you happen to have any information to share it would be greatly appreciated. The story I have been told is that my grandmother Arsenia Laboy married Arturo Carrasquillo moved to NY and left to return to PR leaving her husband and son behind, contact between mother and son was never kept. My father died in 1983 and I have very little details but I am interested in knowing about my ancestors. My father Justo Carrasquillo was the only son from that marriage.

I would be interested in the tree you have created if you feel you can share it. My grandparents were Felix and Bernarda Laboy from Patillas, both born in the early 1900s. They moved to NYC in 1925/7 and had six children.

My name name is sonia . My father was Andres Laboy he was the first born of Agirpino his mother died when he was young and his father marry his wife younger sister Ametita. he had three step brothers Gil, Ladislayo, Pablo. there were also sisters sofia, susana, carman, nedia,yagin,coltilde. I hope i spelled it right. They came from Patillas Puerto Rico also. We still have a great deal of family still there.Alot of the family is here in New Jersey.We moved to New jersey in 1949 we lived in Lakehust first. Now we are all over.
