Jules Henri Lachance, born 28 Aug 1893 at La Passe was the son of Hubert Lachance and Sara Anne Robert. I am unaware of Hubert having married AFTER the marriage to Sara Anne Robert.

Sara Anne was his 2nd wife whom he married on 12 Sep 1892 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, La Passe, Ontario. The record clearly shows he is a widow at the time of this marriage. For Sara it was her first marriage as she is listed as a “spinster”.

Hubert Lachance did have another marriage BEFORE Sara. He married Henriette Lamarche, daughter of Stanislas Lamarche and Catherine Brady, on 15 Oct 1878 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, La Passe, Ontario. Henriette died 11 Feb 1892 and was buried 13 Feb 1892 at La Passe.

It appears that Hubert and Henriette had at least 7 children before she died, the last one having been born and died in December 1891.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Larry Lachance
Jacksonville, FL

I am looking for more information re. the Jules Lachance, Ida May Rose Lines upwards.
My grandfather was Wilmer Lachance(married to Mable May Michaelis, parents of William Lachance, James Barry Lachance and Gloria May Lachance), son of Jules and Ida. So far I have located information which suggests that Jules' parents were Hubert Lachance and Sara Robert...does this coralate with information that you have...also...I am under the impression that Jules' father had a second marriage following the death of his first wife. I have quite a bit of family aquired information regarding the Jules\Ida lines down...but anything that you have may help me to update my own records. Thanks.
Stumbled onto your post while looking for a Louis LaChance that lived with the Watsons in Madison Co.,Mo in the 1900 census. Mr. Henry seems to have had 3 marriages, Mary LaChance being the 2nd. Just wondered if you are interested in this family.

Lachance / Paterson of Canada

Someone had given me the information of Marion Paterson, daughter of William Paterson b. 1890 in Scotland and Helen Ginther. There is a military record in Canada of this William Paterson dated 1914 and listed as not married. So, they were married something after 1914. Supposedly they had one daughter by the name of Marion who married a Lachance.
I am assuming this all took place in Canada.

Honore (aka Henri) LACHANCE & Philomene DESCHAMPS (Michigan & New Hampshire)

Honore LACHANCE, also known as Henri, married Philomene DESCHAMPS in Iosco County Michigan, 10 JULY 1883. They had at least five children, three of which died before the age of 2 years. One, Joseph LACHANCE, born 14 APRIL 1891 in Oscoda, Iosco County, Michigan, went on to marry Marie BILODEAU (don't know where). Joseph died in 1971.

Honore LACHANCE, based on the age recorded at the time of his marriage (28 years) would appear to have been born sometime around 1855. It is assumed that he was born in Quebec but not proven.

At some point, Honore/Henri LACHANCE died, sometime between 05 MARCH 1895 AND 21 JAN 1898, possibly at Hurley, Wisconsin and Philomene returned to Quebec where she married again, Philias DENAULT on 21 JAN 1898. From there, the couple move to Nashua, NH and had at least three more children, Donald, Lydia and Albert. Philomene died 24 OCT 1924 in Hudson, NH at the age of 61. Philias DENAULT married again, this time to a widow, Marie (BOUCHER) MARQUIS.

All said, I am trying to find the parents of Honore/Henri LACHANCE as well as his birth date/place and his place of death and burial.

Anyone with information about the LACHANCE side of this family, please contact me directly Larry AT lachance dot org

My husband, Paul LaChance is the grandson of Edward LaChance, Julius LaChance's younger brother. Family lore has it that once Julius and his wife fell through the ice, their children were sent out to distant relatives across Canada and the family farm on Howe Island was sold for back taxes. Where did your father in law grow up? Also, family legend has it that when Edward LaChance wanted to marry his wife, Stella O'Brien from Gananoque, the O'Brien family had reservations because the LaChances had "Indian blood". Have you found out any more information in your search?

Hello, I am also looking for information on Benoni Lachance as he was my great grandfather. His son Hercule Alfred Lachance was my grandfather, and Hercule's son (my father) was Joseph E Lachance who passed away on Feb 28, 1982. I would like to exchange info whereas I didn't have the chance to learn that much about the family until recent. Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

Joe LaChance

I very much appreciate you passing that along! I had been able to find the family before, and had strongly suspected that they were the right family, but until that, could not find a record that actually had Joseph Amede in it. I have since found some more! thanks again!

And, out o my curiosity, how is it that you fit in to this family? Wondering if perhaps we are related...

I'm looking for a connection to Gervais Pepin dit LaChance who was possibly married to Caroline Caron in St.Genevieve, MO. They had two daughters, both who appear to have married Aubuchon's.
