I sent you an invitation to add you as a member on my Ancestry family tree. All my research is there with pictures.

I don't have pictures of Henri Lagacé but I have pictures of some of his brothers and relatives like Adolph Lagasse and Idala Lagasse.

Alyce who is the granddaughter of Idala had pictures of people whom she did not know. I found out who they were...

This is one article I wrote.
This was easy because most of the research I had been done before.

The Lagasse who you are talking about is not related to the same Lagacés. André Mignier is the ancestor. He came to New France in the 1660s.

I know nothing about that Henri Jean Lagasse. Sorry.

It is easier to look for our ancestors in Quebec with the parish registers that were kept by the priests. You will find some errors sometimes, but most of the time they are accurate. This is how I could link Nikki with her ancestors.

This is the article I wrote on my blog in 2009.

http://steanne.wordpress.com/2009/12/19/marcelline-david/

I have written more than 250 articles about genealogy since 2009.

Pierre, you have done a great job. This is not an easy task. I have been looking for an Henri Jean Lagasse who was born somewhere in France on May 9, 1831. I just am not sure where to look in France. He died in New Orleans. Have you come across this Henri? He was married to Matilda Dazet in France. Where? They died 20 days apart. He died 4 Dec 1909 and she dies 24 Dec 1909.

Keep in touch?
Major step?

I am just waiting for Nikki to reply.

I have found everything except the coat-of-arms and the coffee mug.

All the pieces of the puzzle fit in with what she wrote.

Henry Charles Lagasse married Edith Mullane.
They had these children: Elmira, Henry Charles, Edith, Ursula, Ovila, Louis, Ida, Rita, Dorothy.

Henry Charles Lagasse is the son of Henri Lagassé who was born 20 November 1854. I have an image of his birth certificate. He is the son of Pierre Lagacé and Marcelline David.

Pierre Lagacé was the brother of Stanislas Lagacé, my great-great-grandfather who is the godfather of Henri!

Need I say more?

I had also found all of Henry Charles Lagasse's brothers and sisters.

How about some pictures of them?

I have been working on those two branches of the Lagacé family tree since 2007.

I hope I did not make a fool of myself writing this.

Hi again,

I think I found her ancestors. Nikki is probably related to me by Antoine Lagacé who is the father of Stanislas (1816) and Pierre (1825) Lagacé. Pierre married Marcelline David. I know everything about that branch even more than my own if this is possible. Henry would be the son of Pierre. Henry married Celanire (Elmira) Alexandre. I am just waiting for more input from Nikki.

Hi Nicole,

The only Charles Lagasse I have in my family tree is a 2nd great-grand uncle. He was the son of Basile LAGACÉ and Élisabeth BIBEAU (my 3rd g-grandparents). My Charles Lagasse was born in 1855, though, so he wouldn't be your grandfather. You are right that the Lagasse line is French-Canadian. Many of my Lagasse ancestors lived in Haverhill, MA. If you provide me with more information (names, dates, etc.), I'd be happy to help you. Who knows- we could very well be related.

~Melissa

Contact me and we will exchange information.

Zepher Legacie is my great-great-great grandfather. He married Maude La Fontain and one of their children was Edward, born in 1850. Edward married Annie McDonald in October of 1874 in lle De Montreal, Quebec. One of their children was James Matthew Legacie, born on April 14, 1880. He married Josephine Taunt on November 29, 1906 in Abord A Plouffe. They moved to the Lawton, North Dakota area and had several children, one being my grandfather - Herbert Legacie. He was known as "Hub." He married my grandmother - Borghild Olivia Olson, on Christmas day in 1939. They had a dairy farm near Lawton. They had three children. My uncle Donald, who is a retired Minister and lives in Sparks, Nevada. He has three daughters- the youngest would be about 36. My aunt Diana Paulson lives in Jamestown, North Dakota. She has one son, Eric Diseth, who is about 43 and lives in Montana. My mother, Bonnie (Legacie)Kuchar had 4 children -Donald Edward, Jodi Marie, Lisa Ann, and me- Debra Kaye. Hub on March 22 of 1955 after battling cancer. My mother passed away in August of 2004. Borghild died in 2005. Hope some of this helped.
