A few descendants of Longshore Lamb, a Revolutionary War soldier who was one of the very early settlers (by 1810) of Caldwell County, are planning to erect a memorial marker to honor his memory at the Lamb Cemetery, located near the Claxton community area in Caldwell County. Unfortunately, we do not know Longshore Lamb's exact burial location.
Longshore Lamb and his wife Sarah Lee had nine children:
Mary (Polly) Lamb who married William Crow
Elizabeth Lamb who married (1) James W. Reaves and (2) Joseph Vaughn
Levi Lamb who married Mary Smith
William Lamb who married Rebecca (?)
Margaret (Peggy) Lamb who married James Farmer
Jane (Jensey) Lamb who married Jesse Clayton
John Lamb who married Mary (Polly) Clayton
Moses Lamb who married Lucinda Smith
Martin Lamb who married Mary Gibson McElroy
We would like to locate as many of Longshore Lamb's descendants as possible who would like to join with us in honoring his memory.
Please feel free to contact me for more information at: RLMLFM@aol.com or lindamonticelli@yahoo.com.
