Joseph Richard Lanz is my great grandfather. His children were Clement Lanz, Bertie and Irene Lanz Mueller.

JR lived to be almost 103 (a few weeks shy) and we have a great family photo of 4 generations celebrating his 100th birthday back in 1972

JR's wife was Mary Yant Lanz - I am presently researching this info myself. My cousin is helping confirm, but I believe JR's parents were Antone and Teressa Lanz.

Please share any info you may have on where JR was born etc, in PA.

Thanks.

Hi Nikki. I am so sorry to hear about your granddad. It is very nice of you to post this message so that others know when to stop looking or where they might find help. Your grandfather's name was on the family tree for Leonard Henry Dudman, born Dec. 25, 1891 in England. On Christmas Eve, after many years of searching, I received my dad's birth certficate in the mail. His father was listed as Leonard Dudman aged 24 in 1916. He lived about 1/2 mile from my Gram but married while she was newly pregnant with my father. I am interested in ANYTHING about this family that I can get my hands on. Especially pictures. I did find one on a passport application and there was a resemblance to my dad. Is there any way that you could get this info to me? I would appreciate it more than you can imagine.
Adrian Daily Telegram, Wednesday, January 16, 2008, pg A2
Keith A. ‘Skeeter’ Lanz Obit
DEERFIELD — Keith A. “Skeeter” Lanz, 65, of Deerfield passed away peacefully on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2008, at the Lake Park Comfort Care Center in Sylvania, Ohio.
He was born on Nov. 30, 1942, in Adrian, Mich., the son of Carl and Regina (McWilliams) Lanz. On July 7, 1967, Keith was married to the former Janet M. Pieh in Deerfield, Mich.
Skeeter attended Deerfield High School and graduated in 1960. Upon graduation, he went on to serve his country in the United States Army National Guard. Skeeter worked at the Revco Plant in Deerfield, Mich., early on in his life and later went on to become a carpenter by trade. He was employed the majority of his life as a carpenter and estimater with Ann Arbor Ceiling and Partition in Ann Arbor, Mich., where he worked for 35 years, eventually retiring in 2004.
Skeeter was a member of the Detroit Carpenter’s Union Local #687, the Deerfield American Legion Post #392 for the last 37 years, the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Brooklyn, Mich., and he also served on the Deerfield Volunteer Fire Department for 20 years. Skeeter and his family enjoyed summers at their cottage at Marr Lake in Onsted for the past 25 years with their extended family, Jim and Sandy Witt, Jennifer Blake and family and Megan Karpinski and family. Skeeter was loved by so many, especially his lifetime loyal friends. He was a friend to all who made his acquaintance and was willing to donate his time and knowledge for anyone. He enjoyed fixing things and serving as a “handyman” to anyone who needed his help with anything. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Surviving is his wife, Janet Lanz of Deerfield; three children, Allyn (Rhonda) Lanz of Tipton, Amy (Mark) Madalinski of Blissfield and Brian (Jackie) Lanz of Milan; his mother-in-law, Georgette Pieh of Largo, Fla.; one brother, Gary Lanz of Tucson, Ariz.; one sister, Kay (Russell) Bierley of Sun Lakes, Ariz.; his in-laws, Bob (Dee) Pieh of Deerfield; his aunt, Ruth Gilson of Deerfield; his eight grandchildren, Dustin MacDonald, Stephanie Lanz, Kelsey Allen, Dylan MacDonald, Ryan Madalinski, Abby Jean Madalinski, Allycia Lanz and Ashlee Lanz; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Michael Clemmer officiating. Burial will follow in Deerfield Cemetery in Deerfield. Family and friends may call or visit the funeral home on Wednesday from 1 to 9 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Deerfield American Legion Post #392 or the Deerfield Volunteer Fire Department.

Please contact me if you are researching Emil C Lanz (1852-1933).

I have a conflict about where he was born: Prussia? New York?

Regardless, he appears in Madison, Dane County, Wisconsin by 1860. After the death of his wife, Celia Lohr (1854-1893), he leaves Madison and appears in Roanoke, Halifax County, Virginia by 1910 and then in South Boston, Halifax County, Virginia in 1920-1930.

He either returned to Madison prior to his death, or his body was shipped back to Madison for burial beside Celia.

It appears he had at least 2 daughters, Franziska "Frances" W Lanz (Born abt 1877) and Agnes Lanz (Born abt 1886).

UNFORTUNATELY AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO REACH HIM, I LEARNED HE HAD PASSED JAN. 2005. HE WAS QUITE LOST WITHOUT HIS WIFE HAZEL BROWN LANZ (NICKNAME BROWNIE). HIS GRANDDAUGHTER, I WAS TOLD BY WARREN, WAS TO INHERIT HIS HOME AS SHE HAD LIVED THERE IN THE APT OVER THE GARAGE AND WAS HER GRANDPARENTS CARETAKERS. I HAVE HIS EMAIL ADDRESS, PHONE NUMBER AND ADDRESS. EVEN THOUGH I HAVE EMAILED, HOPING TO HEAR FROM NICKI OR HER DAD, ROBERT LANZ, THE MESSAGES HAVE NOT BEEN RETURNED NON-EXISTENT. I AM GOING TO TRY AGAIN AND IF NO REPLY WILL DRIVE OVER AND CHECK.

I need some help with a Jacob Lanz that lived in Lucas County. His children were George, louisa, jacob jr, john, otto and walter. all children were born in the early 1880's. I can't seem to connect these people because of conflicting dates. Maybe they are cousins instead of siblings. Can anybody help me ?
