Hey Sandy.. I cannot remember if I responded. There is no relation to the best of my knowledge. Cristobal's mother was a Lara. I recently received information from Spain that She was born in Marbella, Spain. This is the southern part of Spain in the Malaga area.I still do not know where Cristobal was born and where his father was from. I have help doing the research from a friend in Spain. If you check my information you will see that the tree has been updated. I have updated information on Antonio/Ana and their parents. It is accurate as it came from the civil records in Malaga:) Also.. we are having a Galvan picnic in August.. you are all invited. on August 11th. If you send me your email I can send you the document that charts this out for you... Your Great Grandparents had lots of children.. two sets of twins that died. Very sad.... Hope is all well. My mom Mariana says hi:)

The best way to do your genealogy, is to get a pedigree sheet put down all the information that you know. Starting with you. Also if you can find a LDS church house, there will be a genealogy library there. They will be more than happy to help you with your genealogy, and helping you find your family.

I have a Ramon Lara who was born July 1877 in Santa Rosalia, Carmargo,Chihuahua,Mexico. His father was Eusebio Lara born in 1852 with a brother named Encarnation Lara born in 1843. His father was Jose Francisco Lara born in 1820. A mystery I have is that Eusebio Lara married Vidala Fierro around 1876. She was born Feb 1859 but I can't find anything more about her.

My name is Maria Lara and along with my cousin, have become interested in our family roots. We are getting our family tree together as I write.

Just to give you a little history of our branch of the family, we're from Jalisco, Mexico. We are a VERY large family. I can only go as far as my G.Grandfather whose name was Jesus Lara whom married Maximina Jaime. They conceived about 8 children which we're still looking into. One of them was my Grandfather Francisco Lara which married Socorro Miranda. They had 11 children: Estela, Rigoberto, Guillermo, Leticia, Jose Francisco(JR), Ramon, Patricia, Juan Carlos, Lidia, Jesus and Miguel Angel. My Father was Jose Francisco Lara (JR) and he married Maria Olga Martinez in Mexico. My parents migrated to California in the late 80's and had 6 girls: Carla, Amanda, Maria, Solany, Marely and Coraly. We are currently residing in Los Angeles, California.

Like I mentioned before, our research is very pre-mature and we are working on filling the gaps.

I really want to get in touch with the Laras' that migrated to Mexico from Spain. Thank you!

Hi Peajay,
It sort of funny, Cristobal Galvan Lara married Ana Ruiz(your Great Grandmother) and Salvador Riuz (Ana brother) married Carmen Lara. Is there is a Lara conection there? If so Carmen family comes from Northern Spain. Grandma use to say she was from Jean.

Not easy. The records and indexes have not been put on line to the same extent as USA or UK. Google "birth records" and see what you get. The main work has been done by the mormons-try Familysearch.com.

In many cases you have to go to the town concerned, but you may be lucky.

There are people in Spain who will do it for you-expensive and they can spin it out to increase the cost.

Best wishes for 2011

Mike

Thank you for responding to my message on this site. I do remember your grandmother Beatrice Varela-Hermosillo. She lived in Menlo Park California, right? We lived in Mountain View California for a short time a long time ago. Our family used to visit your grandmothers family frequently when we lived there. But it was a long time ago. And it is just wonderful to hear from you!

You mentioned that you have pictures of my mother Dominga Varela Lara. I would love to have copies of them if possible. My mom passed away this past April 29, 2010, of alzhimers disease. Your grandmother Beatrice and my mom Dominga were close cousins who cared very much for eachother. But in the early 70's my father moved us all back to Texas (He was born and raised in Texas) and my mom lost contact with her cousins although she kept in contact with her brothers and sisters who still live there in California. I would love to hear back from you and I would love to have copies of those pictures that you told me about. I have two email address, so please feel free to write to me at either one of them. .... whisperingspirit@hotmail.com or hlquintanilla7156@yahoo.com

One last question, who is your mother or father? I do remember visiting my second-cousins during the time that we lived there near them. My name is "Hope Lara-Quintanilla" I look forward to getting your response to this message.

I think I just found the parents. They were in southern New Mexico, around Silver City. Pretty sure the parents are Fales and Marsalina, from the 1900 Hillsboro, Sierra census that includes a Jose and a sister Lupe. Jose's sister-in-law and niece are also in the same census, a few pages later.

I have a Jose Lara, who married Diega Jimenez in 1905, but would like to find out who his parents were. Right now, I have a possible 1900 census match, but am unsure. The census has Ramon and Virginia Lara as parents of a Jose, but am unsure if this is the same Jose. I'm guessing it is because Jose named two of his children Virginia and Ramon. Can anyone verify or refute these as Jose's parents?

Do you know what part of texas that they died? If you do, you also send for death certificates, this will tell you alot about your ancestor. If so you could start searching the area with Census. There is many ways of finding ancestors. Ancestry has online classes also to help Do you have a LDS Family History Center close by? If so find them, they will be very willing to help you start or continue your genealogy. I hope I have helped you in some small way. Good luck.
