Sherry,
I have some Lasiters in my tree that I'm sure have Cherokee blood. My great grandmother was a Lasiter and we believe her mother a Pope is where the Cherokee line came from. I know most of the family that stayed in Georgia. I don't know about the children of her brothers who moved to Texas and Arkansas. Unfortunately, I don't have a William Oscar. There are several males who could have had a son born in 1920. Email me at jdatlboy@comcast.net and I'll send you a file.
Jay

Help with Lasiter

I am working on my sons grandmothers side of the family and have hit a road block immediately. If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated. His Grandmothers name is Donna about 1943, and she married Joseph Harvey Rivers 1928-2005. She is of Indian heritage, I believe it is Cherokee. She is unable to help with any info about her parents and so. What info I was able to get is very hazy, she made mention of a grandmother whom was buried on an Indian Reservation with the last name of Kennerly and Missouri seems to be where the majority of the immediate family is. Any help at all would be great.
Thank You in advance,
S

Harmon Lasiter/Nancy Rainwater? or Nancy/Nicey Bounds: NC/SC

Hello All,

I am looking for information on Harmon and Nancy (Nicey Bounds) Lasiter who married in 1796 NC. I believe they may be the same people who are on the 1830 census for Chesterfield, Chesterfield, SC.

I am looking for the names of their children. I believe the Jno. Lassiter who is living next door to them in 1830 is a son and is the same John Lasiter who shows up in 1850 in McNairy Co., TN.

We are trying to prove a link between this Harmon and Nancy Lasiter and the Jesse, John, and William Lasiters who are beleived to be brothers who are all listed on the 1850 McNairy Co., TN census living next to each other.

If anyone has any information on this family line, please contact me at bgraves34@texoma.net

Thank you,
Bonnie Graves

Lasiter born and died on the same days only it says he died in Arkansas. Is this coincedence that there was two born and died on same day or is someones info wrong?? The Montague Co. came from Tx death index and the Arkansas was from a family tree with no email address. Thanks for any help, Stephanie

Dorothy Lasiter/Dorothy Barksdale

I am looking for information on a woman, Dorothy Barksdale. Barksdale is or was her married name. I am not sure if her maiden name was Lasiter or Williams. Her mother had been married more than once so I am not sure of her last name. I am her oldest granddaughter by her middle child Mary. Dorothy walked out on her husband and three children 45 years ago;in Sept. or Oct. 1955. she had been living (with her husband and three children) in Kansas City, Kansas.
