Lynn, great hearing from you. e-mail me at margiebren@aol.com and I will connect you to the family web site. we have lots of laughlands on there from all over the world. Are you related to Hamilton who lives in New Zealand? We know of laughlands who are in Australia, south africa, turkey, Ireland, US and of course scotland and england.
Most of us trace back to Kilmarnock. My brother John started the family website and there are pictures on there which are just so much fun. By the way I am in Schenectady, New York. write to me soon at my e-mail.
glad to hear from you. marg

margaret, I obtained the information from my great grandparents marriage license So all I know is what is on there They were married in st. mary's chapel in1882 and it said her parents (that is catherine gaetins) were william gaetins and ellen laughland. They came to us in the 1880's and in subsequent census reports catherine always stated that her parents were born in ireland. My grandmother said that she believed her mother came from northern ireland .

YOu can contact me at margiebren@hotmail.com

I am looking for my Aunt, May Laughland (her maiden name) and her daughter Michelle. May was adopted by James and Sceanie Laughland. They lived in South Africa for a period between 1947 to about 1965. They returned to Scotland and lived in Kilmarnock in the 1960's and 70's. Any information would be appreciated.

Dear Margaret
Have been 'browsing' for my maiden name Laughland. My father William Laughland (dec)was born in Kilmarnock in the '20's. He had sisters called Margaret and Jeanette and brothers Hugh (lives in the Barbados) and Jim. My mother Vivienne is researching our family history and she would be very interested to hear any info re Dad's family background etc. I have convinced her to get hooked up to the 'net', so I think that is on her list of things to do next week! By the way my Mum sister and I live in Tasmania -Australia. Where am I writing to??
Best Wishes Lynne Logan
