thanks for the query,I can't see and Gertrude Lavington or Frederick just at a glance, but i will have a good look over the week end for you.

Funny My Great grandfather Charles Herbert Lavington was also a Police Constable but in Cardiff Wales.

any way i will get back to you if i find the connection, i now have 3000 family members in my tree, but i will have a good look on the Lavington side and see what i can find.

My Mother Gertrude Lavington born 1901. Father was
Frederick Lavington a Police Constable in London who
was born in Christian Malford on 1st April 1863.
I have a family tree going back to 1750 but can not
finds a welsh connection which I believe exists

Who was Jennett Lavington?

Jennett, Jennetta, Janet, Jane, Janetta Lavington or Levington appears to have been born, probably under that name, in Edgeley, Bucks in 1796 - or maybe 1795. Its easier to trace her marriages backwards rather than forwards. She married James Debenham in St Georges, Hanover Square in 1840 and they had no children, keeping the Red Lion Inn in Hartley Westpall, Hants together until he died. She continued to keep it for many years, assisted by her son James Hughes. James seems to have been her son by her first marriage. I haven't been able to trace the name of his father or the date of his father's death. Her second husband was Samuel Clift by whom she had at least two children. Charles, my great grandfather, born in 1833, and Jane.
I would love to hear from any of her descendants

Edward T. PRICE (age 52) is in the 1880 census of Clay, Onondaga, NY. His wife is Martha (41) and there is a son, Irvin (7), and daughter, Agness (3). There is also a nephew, William LAVINGTON (21) and mother-in-law, Mariah SMITH (84).

Who are the parents of William LAVINGTON? I'd also like more information about this PRICE family, their relatives, and ancestors.

I am looking for any information on the Lavington's from Hampshire.
Paul Lavington born 1744 married Martha Bakingham in 1793 in Houghton Hampshire.
Paul's mother was Mary Lavington who died 1808 in Houghton, Hampshire.

I now have come to a stop as I can not find Paul's birth registered showing his fathers name.

Maybe some one out their is researhing the same family and can help me.

my great grandma Violet was a lavington, daughter of Thomas Lavington (1863) and sister of (i think) Bill, Tom, George. I saw some photos of Thomas Lavington and his wife Anna Standbrook last week and it made me think about them all and how little i know!

Burden Lavington

I have that my 5 x great grandfather was Burden Lavington, I do not know where he was born but he married Elizabeth Clements in 1798 in Saltford Somerset. They had two children that I know of, William 1801 and John 1805 in Saltford. William resided in Saltford for all his life but his brother lived in Bristol, I think. Can anyone help! Christine

since writing the post I have more info on my Lavington line. John Lavington born 1825 Saltford Somerset married Emma Cox of Keynsham born 1835. John's father was William Lavington born Saltford 1801 along with his brother John 1805 to Burden and Elizabeth Lavington. I have no idea where Burden or Elizabeth originated from. Does any one have the name Burden in the family line? Christine

Hi, my GG Grandmother was Harriet Lavington c1855. Harriet married William Haines in c1878 in Somerset, they had Alice, Emma (my g grandmother), Albert, Florence, Arthur, Walter and Annie. I would like to know more if there is any connections to the Wiltshire Lavingtons. Christine

I have read your board with some interest.
I am the 13th John Lavington in line. The eldest son always being called John. My son is John (14th) and his eldest son is John (15th)
We have traced our family tree back to 1590 and a cousin has a farm in Dorset which has been in the family for 300 years.
Most of our kin came from Dorset, Wiltshire, Hampshire and Sussex.
Anyone out there know us?

My Name is Samuel Earnest Lavigton and am the third generation with this full ame. I was born in Wimbledon SW19 in March 1948. I am seeking to make a family tree and would welcome ay info, especially a Miss Lavington who seved on the Titaic. My Grandfather once lived in Kelham Nottinghamshire and was a farrier. My Father Sam Lavington is 83 and still living in Crawley sussex. My Grandfather was killed in London 1940 and believed to be buried in Southall grave yard. Lets conect this famous name into a large family tree as it is believed we are in the doomsday book under the name Hugh De Lavington from France.

A branch of the Lavington family is closely related to the Bruges. A William Lavington married a Margaret Bruges 14/02/1727. They had children William, Mary, Thomas, Anne and Matthew. Some Lavington family records were held by the Bruges\family but they are now at WRO. Catalogue 3238/ 31 - Various papers Bruges & Lavington. Eldest son. If you have anything connecting to the Bruges family I would be grateful. I have more details about William Junior whose trustees were William Bruges of Hatt and Thomas Bruges of Melksham.

I also decend from Lavingtons - from hampshire. I can trace back to 1770's. They are one of the longest running families in our village. Their graves are all in our church cemetry. Have you got a Thomas Lavington in your family tree? We own family bibles and heir looms from them. Do you think we are talking about the same family?

To all LAVINGTON researchers. I am looking for Phoebe LAVINGTON who married Thomas FREEMAN and was b.Jan 14, 1829. She died June 14, 1905 in Wymore, Gage Co., Nebraska, USA.
She was my gggrandmother and I have not been able to find out anything about her. Can anyone help?
She and Thomas had five surviving children Bartholomew, Mary Elizabeth,Thomas J. and Rossanna. All were born in the Tydd St.Giles,Cambridgeshire, England area. Possibly Wisbech.

As far as i know I had a great grandfather that worked in a senior position at the london docks and I think it was a brother of this man with the same name as I, I havent tried to trace properly as yet but my family have always talked of our ancestors located originally from Wiltshire, I will post again when I discover more. How are you related to the Lavingtons?

I am descended from William Lavigton from Hilperton, d1832 age65. His granson was John Compton Lavington b1825. A note on a family tree handed down says 'Thomas Lavington of Poulshot Selina Lavington stood as godparents to john Compton Lavington - probably related via William. Could this be the same Thomas you are searching for? I also have notes about coats of arms, and a photo of Betsy Lavington (1805-1893) with Lizzie(1830-1902) in a garden at Rowde, along with various old family trees/letters
