Leader Family Tree...

My great-grandfather, David Millard Cooper (Everett, PA) married (Myrtle Leader) in the late 1800's and in 1890 they had a son... Joseph Harvey Cooper (my grandfather). In the late 1890's they moved to Bristol, Tennessee where my great-grandfather built a tannery. He died in 1928 and Myrtle Cooper died (I think in 1941). Both are buried in Everett, PA. Any of the Leader family please contact me through this site if you think we might be related. I would like to swap some family names (dates - etc) with you. Thanks...

Leader/ Sibley marriage c. 1837

Hello, I've been searching for the marriage of the following, but have not found it so far!

Robert Leader, born 1817, Shoreditch
Sophia Sibley, born 1819, Antwerp, Belgium

1841 Census shows the couple as married and living in Brook Street, Stepney. First child Robert was born in 1841.

I know Sophia's maiden name was Sibley because I have their daughter's birth cert.

I have searched Free BMD index as far back as possible (1837) but have an inkling the marriage may have been just before then, which is why I can't find it.

Sophia must have been young when they got married, I have not traced her back any further and don't know when she went from Belgium to London.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Frances Leader, born London c. 1848

Hello, I'm trying to trace my family tree but am having problems with the Leader family. Frances Leader was my great grandmother, born I believe in Stepney, London around 1848 (possibly 1846). She married Edward Robinson and they lived in West Ham.

I believe her father was William Leader, born 1820. His wife was another Frances Leader, born 1834 but she would have been too young to be the mother of Frances born in 1848! According to the 1861 Census the family lived at 54 Gopsall Street, Shoreditch.

If anyone has any info about Frances Leader I would be most grateful.

Suffolk, England - Leader

I'm trying to trace the family of Harriet Leader, who married Thomas Brewer in Felsham, Suffolk in 1824.

On the 1881 census, Harriet claims to have been born in Elmswell, Suffolk but as yet I cannot verify this.

Does anyone know my Harriet Leader??

I always have been interested in my family's past and present lives, including my Grandpa Leader's nationality and background I've asked my parents Debbie and Jack Leader about where he and his family originated from, but I always got the answer" I don't know" or "I have no clue". Is there someone that could possibly give some info on where the Leader family originated from I would really like to know.
-Thankyou

Leader Family Book--about 10 years ago

I am researching the Leaders for a friend. About 10 years ago, a man from the midwest (USA) contacted a bunch of Leaders around the USA was going to put together a small book. His wife was a Leader.

Does anyone remember this guy? Did he end up writing the book? Very interested in obtaining this book if it exists. Apparently he connected the midwest Leaders with Canada & the northeast.

I'm looking for the parents of 3 brothers, reportedly born in Medford, WI. My uncle visited the county courthouse there, but found no trace of any of the brothers. The town is full of Leaders, but they don't seem to be related. Here are the details:

Frederick, Charles and Ernest, supposedly born in Medford, Frederick around 1868. Frederick moved to IL, Charles to Marshall, IN, and Ernest supposedly stayed in Medford.

Frederick married Anna Braumeister and had 2 sons - Frank Henry and Roy. They worked for the railroad building bridges.

Roy married but never had children, Frank married Eva Longsway and had 6 children, 2 of whom died in childhood.

If anyone has any information on the parents of the 3 brothers, or what happened to Charles and Ernest, I'd really appreciated it. Thanks!
Leader of Marietta, Pennsylvania, early 1800's

I am searching for my SAMUEL LIEDER/LEADER and his ancestors. I find Samuel in Marietta, Pennsylvania (Lancaster County) in 1813 where he purchased property. He was a carpenter, according to Lancaster County tax lists. The last tax list he appeared on was in 1839. In 1840, his widow/wife, SUSANNAH, purchased a home by herself in Elizabethtown, Lancaster County.
Also appearing on the tax lists, and census data, are LEWIS and JOSEPH. I am assuming these two are related somehow.
Is there anyone researching this family?
I have gathered quite a bit of data on this clan at the State Archives and in Lancaster County Courthouse, (which I'd be happy to share) but have nothing to tie it together. Any help is appreciated!
Samuel is my brickwall!
Linda Stienstra
jimlindas@earthlink.net

I am looking for ancestors of the Leader's. Surnames I have seen in this branch include the names Wolf, Whipkey, and Slagle. They were from Pennslyvania and moved to Oklahoma and Missouri in the late 1800's. I have heard they were Pa.Dutch and/or Native American. Thanks for any info.
