Debbie - I posted a notice a couple of years ago attempting to find information on Paul Joseph LeBreton, my maternal grandfather. I was able to determine that Paul Lebreton had a sister named Inez - which I believe to have been Ms. William Post. Your posting stated that you were attempting to identify information about the Lebretons who were listed on your family tomb. Paul Joseph Lebreton married and had three children, one of which, he named Gilbert or Guilbert, after a then deceased member of his family. It is my understanding that Paul Lebreton divorced and that his ex-wife moved to the Ft. Worth, Texas area with the three children. I am looking for any information anyone might have on Paul Joseph and his sister Inez Lebreton. I think Paul was born some time between 1909 and 1912. He passed away in New Orleans around 1982 or 1983. Thanks -

John, a soldier; mother Susan O/Flaherty. Nothing - I mean nothing - known about them or any other family, where they lived, etc. Not found in any Jersey census/research to date. There was a Flaherty family at St. Helier ex Limerick, Ireland, from 1854 but no link to them by this Susan found to date. Will hold your letter on file. Les and Gloria, Napier, NZ.

There were only 8 George LeBreton in the Channel Islands, in the 1881 census. Ranged from 1813-1880. No Charlottes. If your George arrived in the USA after 1881 he will be in these 13. If not he arrived before and married Charlotte in the USA. Come back with anything further as we have some LeBreton census material for other census. Les and Gloria.

I am in search of information regarding Albert Charles Vital LeBreton of Fougerolles -du-Plessis, France. This man held French passport to the US in July 12, 1848. He married Francisca Lujan of San Elizario, Texas. The marriage did not last long and he left Texas. His brother was a Knight of the Sepulcher who was also in Texas at that time. Albert was some sort of clockmaker and his work hangs in a large Church in Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico.
Any iformation would be greatly appreciated.

Pierre LeBreton

I am seeking information about Pierre LeBreton - b. 1745 in Nantes, France d. 1813 Newburyport, Massechusetts.

The information I have is from "Records of a California Family"
<http://lcweb2.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/r?ammem/calbk:@field(DOC...;

Peter Le Breton was a native of the city of Nantes, France. As a young man he visited Newburyport on the business of an uncle who was a sugar-planter of the West Indies. He became interested in Elizabeth Pearson and returned the following year, 1776, to marry her and make his home in Newburyport. He was called Captain, and owned some vessels in trade with the West Indies and France. A Frenchman and a Roman Catholic, he seems to have conformed to the customs and religious life of his neighbors, and to have been a respected citizen, noted for his liberality to the poor. An altar, found after his death in a small room to which he kept the key, showed that he had not forsaken the church of his childhood.

Hi;

My mom is Audrey LeBreton at birth (1928) her father was Ernest LeBreton and my mom's father and a boy (my mom's brother) also Ernest. He was born in 1904 and died at 64.

I understand my mom's aunt "Lottie" or Charlotte lives/lived in New Hampshire. My mom's grandfather (George LeBreton) had three children? Ernest/James/Charlotte (lottie).

I think George LeBreton married a woman named Charlotte who would be my mom's grandmother who mom never met. Also, mom's father Ernest left my mom at 6 months.

Does this help?

Dear Debbie:

I do not recognize any of the names you listed. My gggrandfather was Charles Etienne Gaston Lebreton who married Marie Idalie Delery. I have heard that all of the Louisiana Lebretons are related. Would love to help you. Please let me know again the oldest ancestor you have. Would also like a list of the other surnames you have that are buried with the Lebretons.

Sincerely,

Bonnie
