Let me start with hello cousin. You can email me direct at expowilliams@gmail.com and I would be glad to help you in any way I can.
I am LaVerna Ledbetter Williams....My dad is also 87. His name is Floyd U Ledbetter, one of 10 children of James Allen and Ruby O Mahan Ledbetter. Grandson of William Allen Ledbetter and great grandson of Tobitha Ledbetter (from Tenn).
My husband and I went on a trip from South Dakota to Barstow, CA in Jan to see my son stationed at Fort Irwin. We all went over to the Ghost Town near by and my son seen the picture of Bud Ledbetter and said, "Hey, mom, are we related to him." I walked over and seen the picture and said I don't know but I will find out when I get home. I have done family research for several years now. I have the Ledbetter's back to William Ledbetter born 1543 in Norfolk, England. When I got home I looked up Bud Ledbetter and found his family and seen the connection. So my next step was to see if there were any family members out there on his side. I have five brothers and two sisters. One of my brothers is Steve Ledbetter.
Please write me. I will look up the connection again and sent that to you later.
Thanks,
LaVerna

Hi! I am married to the Great Great Grandson of James Franklin "Bud" Ledbetter and have only just begun to research that side of our family tree. My husband, Steve, is the son of Annie Herne Simpson, grandson of Mary Josephine Ledbetter, great grandson of George Washington Ledbetter and great great grandson of J.F. "Bud" Ledbetter. My husband's mother is still living. She is 87 years old, grew up in Muskogee and was very close to her family and relatives back there. She is now living near us in Spokane, WA. I would love to help you by answering any questions you may have--if I can. Let us know how we are connected! Researching family ancestry has been a wonderful and rewarding experience for me. I am finding so many lovely relatives! Let me know how we may help you! SIgn

Tamara. I am Merville's son, Scott Ledbetter. He passed away yesterday, April 26, 2012, in DeKalb. We had lost touch with Rubye and didn't know if she was still with us.

If you reply to this, I will receive an email. Please do!

By the way, my father never liked his first name, and was known as Barney to everyone except his dear sisters! Dot and Rubye were the only people I ever heard call him Merv.

I am the great granddaughter of Lou Peace. There are photos of her and James Oliver on the Tidmarsh Family tree which are public. Also, photos of Meacham Peace and his wife. Lou's tintypes were uncovered in 2011 and recently put on Ancestry.

I do not know the url but if you go to "search" and type in "Sarah Louvenia Peace" the family photos come up. Our membership has expired so we cannot look at other people's sites but if you are an active account, you can go from the photo's into the Tidmarsh Family Tree. The site is registered under my daughter, who is "UnitedNations5." My grandmother was Myrtie Ledbetter who died in 1968. She had a book of 50 tintypes owned by Lou and dating back to 1865 of the Peace family, but only half were identified. We did not locate the tintype book until this last year completely by accident. Good luck.

Hello there,
I'm Tamara Reed. The person listed as "Living" Ledbetter in the post is my grandmother, Rubye. She and Leo adopted two children, Paul and Judy. Paul was my father. He was born in 1917. Rubye is still alive, but in her final days. I reached this post trying to find a way to reach Merv if he is still alive.

We (my sisters and I) do not know who John's great grandfather was, but we have family pictures that include John and Saphrona. We also have a nice one with just Rubye, Merv, and Dot.

Louis Vernon Cox my grandfather is your fathers 1/2 brother. He lived most of his life in Maryville, TN and his youth in Sharp Top community of Pickens Co GA with his grandparents. I am trying to find out who James A and Laura Cox were that she and John C Ledbetter were living with in the 1910 US Census in Forsyth Co GA. I also wonder if they had other children other than your father? Hope you find this so we can communicate. Doc

I'd sure like to get ahold of a good pic or two of them there folks, and place it/them on my site at http://brotherdan.tribalpages.com. I'm not willing to pay for a monthly ancestry membership to do it, though. Cheap I am. Wanna e-mail it to me? brotherdan@hotmail.com Thanks!

Hi, Trena, I think that you contacted me previously. I see that you have linked your family tree to mine. The William G. Leadbeater in our tree is not the same person you describe. Note that the name is spelled differently and our Uncle William was never married, nor was he a traveling salesman. He worked in the family apothecary until it closed after which he did not work.

Josephine Margrette Davis, was born 24 Jan 1920, in St. Louis, Missouri. Jo married David Eugene Ledbetter, 30 Nov 1960. Jo had a brother and a sister. I believe their names were, Harold Davis or David Davis, and Lucille Davis. I found Josephine in the 1930 US census with the parents being, Stewart and Elizabeth Davis. We would appreciate any information we can get on this family. Thank you so very much....
