Hi, I know that Francoise LeFleur was Henry John Moberly's third wife. My husband is a decendent of Henry John Moberly and his first wife Suzan Cardinal Karakontie Moberly. I have also been tracing the family tree but can't seem to find much info on any of the three wives but have met up with some cousins in B.C.

Wondering where were your Charles, John and Edward living and when? We have a Charles, Edward, John and James Lefleur/Leflore in South Carolina 1790-1820 or so. Charles moved on to Alabama, Edward stayed in South Carolina, James died early and I do not know about John yet. It is said that the family came from Canada but we do not know that much yet.

Hi,

Looking for Julia C. Lefleur or (Julie) who married William H. Barney in Sault Saint Marie, Canada in 1849. She was born in Sault Saint Marie in 1830. In the 1860 census for Sault, they are listed and 5 children. William, Peter, John, Mary, Charlotte, Charlotte married Daniel LaBat. William Jr. is my GGrandffather. The next door neighbors in the census, were Lefleur's Francios, Alexs, Andre. I think of them or all of them were relatives. Does anyone have any information, I have been puzzled for over 5 years. Thanks Lucy

Great grandmother a LeFleur

My great grandmother was a LeFleur. She married Mickel (Michael) LeBonte/Goodness ca. 1887 in the territories, probably Iowa or South Dakota. She must have been born around 1860-70. They had one daughter, Lillian Goodness, my grandmother. This LeFleur died when her child was only two. Michael Goodness remarried and had several more children. It is the LeFleur line I seek. Any help anyone can give me will be much appreciated. Sue

To Douglas:

Thanks so much for your reply to my message even though I think we're looking at two different Priscillas. My Priscilla had a son or grandson who was "M.C." LeFleur (spelling might have been different?). He was supposed to have been born in Kentucky (no confirmation of this yet), although his daughter Teress was born in Tennessee in 1877 (don't know if either he or Priscilla had any other children. This is one super-elusive branch of my family tree so far!).

The only Priscilla Lefflore that I know about is Priscilla Donly daughter of John
Donly of Nashville. She married Greenwood
Leflore on June 9, 1834. I do not know if she had Indian blood, Greenwood was one fourth Choctaw and a chief. They had just one child Rebecca Cravat Leflore born May 4,
1837. She married James Clark Harris on December 27,1855. Greenwood's first wife was her sister, Rosanah. hope that this helps
They lived in Carroll County,Mississippi

Priscilla LeFleur, possible Indian ancestor

Hi, I'm looking for information on a possible Indian ancestor whose married name was Priscilla LeFleur--if she originally had a tribal, rather than English, name I don't know what it is yet.
My info starts with my great-grandmother, born Teress Adra LeFleur in Nashville, Tennessee, on March 18, 1877; died March 29, 1952 in California, with many years in Seattle and Alaska in between these times. Her death certificate shows her father as M.C. LeFleur, born in Kentucky but with no full name or birth city shown; he probably would have been born in the 1840's or 1850's, and he either was divorced from Teress's mother, Louise Grove (unknown birthplace), or died before Teress was grown; I don't know if they had any other children but haven't found records of any others so far.
Priscilla should have been either M.C's mother or grandmother, and she was supposed to be a fullblooded Indian, maybe Cherokee. The only other info I have on her is that after she died, her children or other descendents supposedly couldn't decide who should get possession of a dress she had worn, so the dress was split exactly into two pieces, with half the buttons and half the dress going to each "side"--Teress must have gotten half of the original because it's out here in California with Teress's granddaughter (my aunt) who can provide no further information other than that the other half is "somewhere back East with some other of her descendents." I'm having no luck so far finding ANYTHING further back than M.C. LeFleur's mention on his daughter's death certificate--any additional information will be greatly appreciated on any of the people mentioned above, or on any other people related to any of them---thanks!

I would like information on Mr. LeFleur's parents. He eventually married Marge Sorensen and had 2 children Michael and Cathy. Leon was probably born around 1920 or so also and probably in Nashua, NH. Any help appreciated. He passed away at age 49 in Washington state.

Lorrine, do you know where or what year your John Edward was born? (LaFleur). I have made little progress on my grandfather or his family's history. It has been said that he left his family in Canada never to look back rt some kind of money problem (I believe he was cheated out of an inheritance), cannot be sure though. I'm looking for someone born around 1830-1850. Remember, emailed in 20001 and you were looking for John Edward and I was looking for Edward and Charles Edward LeFleur, Flora? You can email me if you'd like at MaryFlora2@webtv.net Thanks.
