Hey there folks,

My husband's cousin Jill Lemin Lee found information on the Lemin family in Cornwall. At the moment I can not give you specific datess because I lost her info. But this is what I can remember:

Thomas Lemin b. abt 1820's Redruth area Cornwall
married but can't remeber the name
They moved across the river Tamara to Devon where their son Thomas was born in 1850. When Thomas became of age he immigrated to the States. He met and married Margaret Folliard (Ireland) at Franklin Furnance, Sussex Co., New Jersey. They were married 1873. They are listed in the 1880 Census in Franklin Furnance with two children, Thomas 6 and Anna 1. They then moved to Chester Co., PA and reared their family. The other names of the the children are John, Leo, Richard and Margaret.

Richard served in WWI at Love Field, Dallas, Texas where he met and married Shingo Marie Cabell. They returned to Chester where their first child was born, Mary Katherine Lemin, 1920. They later moved back to the Dallas area and had and reared their family, Mary Katherine, Joseph William , Margaret Ann, James Edgar and Earl.

I have started a Lemin site at myfamily.com. Would love to invite any and all who would like to share information, build a family tree, share photos, gossip and news.

you may e-mail me at susl@ccms.net

Good luck and I hope to see you all soon.

Hi Cheryl,
My paternal great grandfather was an Edward Lemin who married Elizabeth Whitford from the Cornwall, England area and immigrated first to Canada, then into Minnesota, and finally arriving in Pennsylvania. They were coal miners, all of them. Two of their sons were born in Wales, they were Edward Lemin Jr. and Mark Lemin. Edward Lemin Sr. died in 1900 at age of 47 years old, so he would have been born about 1852 or 1853. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Jesse.

Marsha,

Have you tried the soundex search on the name Lemin in the 1900 Census'? The name Lemin is spelled many ways. My husband's great grandfather is spelled Laman. They were in Delware County, PA.

I will keep you in mind if I come across something.

Susie

Marsha,

Do you happen to know the names of any of her siblings? That would help.

Susie
