L'Inglese lo conosco a malapena, spero che sia comprensibile in Italiano.
Casualmente ho visto una ricerca sulla Famiglia Leoni.
Mia nonna si chiamava Giulia Leoni, e la famiglia proveniva da Portico di Romagna. Mi è stato raccontato che era una Famiglia di origini Ebraiche e benestante. Non ho conosciuto mia nonna morta giovane (34 o 36 anni) ma ho conosciuto mia Bisnonna morta a 94 anni a Forlì. Se mia nonna e di quel ramo dei Leoni mi farebbe piacere conoscerne la storia della Famiglia. Un cugino di mia madre era Luigi Leoni mobiliere a Meldola.

Looking for GG-GF Victorio Leoni. His daughter, Marie Catherine (Leoni) Piaggi died in Smith Flat,CA 1939 & buried in St. Joseph Cemetery in Sacramento CA. Beleive he was attached to family that owned Leoni Meadows El Dorado County, CA.

se vuoi ti posso dare notizie certe di origine del cognome Leoni fino al 1404 dopo si possono solo dedurre.
questo perchè le tradizioni orali riportano le stesse che sono scritte dal E.Repetti 1833 georgofilo e dal Villani che descrivono i luoghi e i fatti avvenuti nel 1404 , cioè la conquista di Castrumpriori ( primo di due castelli )
da parte di Jacopo Salviati per conto della republica fiorentina ai danni dei discendenti di Uguccione della Faggiola possessori di Castrumpriori odierna Castelpriore sull'appennino Tosco Emiliano, infatti tale luogo è stato di possedimento fiorentino dal 1404 al 1926 anno in cui Mussolini ne fece di quei territori provincia di Forli.
quindi sappi bene che a Castelpriore ci sono tre ceppi di Leoni tuttora esistenti ed originari ed esclusivamente di quella zona .................... poi se ti interessa te lo dirrò.

My great grandmother was Carolina Leoni (born 1900), daughter of Angelo Leoni from the Milan area in Italy (Bariano and Cuggiono). She also had a nephew Angelo. She married Vincenzo Moroni (born 1890, married 1920) and they moved to the U.S.. Her nephew Angelo joined them later. If anyone has information on any of these relatives or possible connections to them please contact me.

Salvatore and Pasqualina Leoni

We are trying to locate any information of the following... Salvatore Leoni, his wife Pasqualina (Silvagna or Silvagni)They lived in Bridgeport, Conn. and died somewhere between 1929 and 1931. The only info that we have is they both may have been born in 1884. Salvatore was born in Delia, Sicily and Pasqualina was born in Ortona, Italy. We have searched many databases and can't find anything about them. They were buried in St. Michael's Cemetery in Conn, although no-one seems to have a record of them.

My leoni family came from northern Italy, near Milan. My grandmother's name was Carolina Leoni. If this is any relation to you, I would be very interested in any iformation you have and would share the small amount if info I have.

"Fatal Accident. -- We learn that Mr. Antonio Leoni, an old and well known citizen of Mobile, accidentally shot himself day before yesterday at Citronelle(this is in north Mobile County, AL)."

My great grandfather came to the U.S in the 1800's. They were 5 of them. One became a president somewhere in the Latin countries. My great grandfather join the U.S. Army and was stationed in the Philippines during the Spanish American War. He married a Filipina and had 6 kids. My grand father live for more than a century.

Carlo J. Leoni, 75, of San Diego died Monday. He was born in Clinton, Mass., and was a design engineer with General Dynamics. He served in the Army during the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife, Joy Leoni; daughters, Val Summers, Paula Abeyta and Michelle Leoni; son, Robert Leoni; stepdaughters, Robin Igo and Darenda Wolfe; stepson, Dale Marshall; mother, Clair Leoni; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

No services were planned.

Arrangements: Bayview Cremation & Burial Services.

La ringrazio per le sue immagini che logicamente non hanno nessura referenza. La mia ricerca ha trovato che la famiglia di mio padre sono stati residenti in Africa, perció la palma, mi immagino durante il periodo coloniale, per quanto attraverso corrispondenza trovata credo che abbiano avuto anche una residenza in Bologna di carattere notevole se uno puó credere a un inventario trovato. Purtoppo io sono residente in Ighilterra da molto, molto tempo e anche il mio Italiano é arrugginito. La mia bisnonna paterna era originaria di Chambery!

Gentilissimo Sig. Leoni,
la ringrazio per le immagini che mi ha spedito. Potrebbero essere interessanti ma occorrerebbe sapere quale provenienza hanno, se esiste una prova che siano appartenute ai suoi ascendenti diretti. Purtroppo oggi esistono circa 9000 famiglie Leoni in Italia e gli stemmi che si trovano in giro non sono facilmente collocabili.
Io le invio due stemmi. Quello raffigurato sul palazzo si trova a Forino (AV) dove la famiglia Leoni nel 1700 aveva un omonimo palazzo. Il secondo mi è stato inviato da una lontana mia cugina francese, ereditato dalla famiglia.
Difficile dire quale sia il più attendibile, di sicuro vanno scartati quelli che non rispettano le regole araldiche. A proposito le suggerisco il libro di Araldica scritto da Caratti di Valfrei.
Alcuni stemmi inoltre dovrebbero trovarsi presso gli archivi di Stato, ma non ho verificato.

La ringrazio del messaggio, sto andando avanti con le ricerche sui Leoni, fino ad ora sono giunto al 1800, quando il padre di mio trisnonno si sposò a Portico di Romagna. Non credo che ci sia un collegamento con il suo ramo, ma mi farebbe piacere ricevere le due foto jpg del sigillo dei Leoni.
Da parte mia posso inviarle tutto il materiale finora recuperato riguardo allo stemma (due immagini e due descrizioni), anche se saranno poco attendibili potrebbero aiutare le nostre rispettive ricerche.
Un'altra cosa: mi risulta che una famiglia Leoni intorno al 1780 si rifugiò in Romagna, perseguitata dai Borboni di Sicilia, dovrebbero essere miei antenati: le risulta qualcosa in proposito?

Ho letto con interesse la sua vecchia indagine e le posso dire che io sono in possesso di un anello siggillo con stemma e un altro siggillo in ceralacca che ho potuto copiare tutti e due in JPEG phtograps che posso mandare nel caso ci siano dei contatti familiari. il mio ramo dei Leoni viene da Como, Milano per quanto ho evidenza che durante il periodo ante-bellico della II Guerra erano in Abissinia e durante la guerra erano a Bologna, Torino e Asti.

Anche io sto tentando di trovare dei dettagli storici riguardanti la mia famiglia.Sono solo riuscito a stabilire che Samuele detto ettore nato a Verona il 17.09.1846 e trasferito a Roma 12.04.1918 ha avuto Ada Antonia il 14.02.1877 a Padova coniugata con fausto lolli e trasferita a Ancona il 30.10.1904; Attilio(mio nonno) nato a Padova 17.02.1878 trasferito a Milano 14.11.1906; Emma Gilda nata a Padova 18.07.1879 coniugata con Renato Vallisneri trasferita a Capua 25.02.1912; Carlo Leone nato a Padova 19.05.1884 iscritto a Milano il 16.06.1912
Vorrei sapere se ci fosse un rapporto fra le due famiglie e che cosa era la professione di Samuele.

Sai mica da quale paese dell'Emilia giunsero i Leoni della tua famiglia e come si chiamava il tuo capostipite del 1750?
Il mio più lontano antenato (nonno del mio trisnonno) era Luigi Leoni, sposato con Maria Anna Tartagli, nato intorno al 1765 a Portico di Romagna. In teoria potrebbe essere un fratello o un figlio del tuo capostipite. (Tenendo sempre conto che oggi i Leoni in Italia sono diverse migliaia...)
Se hai altre notizie non esitare a comunicarmele, da parte mia sono a disposizione per fornirti le eventuali scoperte (attualmente sto spostando le mie ricerche nella Curia di Forlì, dove conto di indietreggiare nel tempo di almeno un secolo).
Per la cronaca: io sono di Genova, dopo che mio bisnonno si trasferì in Liguria ai primi del '900.

Per quanto sono riuscito a scoprire, un ramo della famiglia leoni arrivò nel 1750ca in Seravezza (lu) ove tuttora risiedo.
Erano fabbricanti d'armi e provenivano dall'Emilia.
Non sono a conoscenza di stemmi o araldi, ne so se vi è sangue nobile nella famiglia.

mi chiamo Corrado Leoni e sto facendo una lunga ricerca sulla mia famiglia, originaria di Portico di Romagna.
Come avrai visti dai messaggi che ho lasciato sul sito "Ancestry.com", anch'io sto cercando i vecchi antenati, ma è un'impresa assai ardua. Finora sono risalito al 1765, contattando Archivi di stato, Comuni ed ora anche la Curia di Forlì.
Mi farebbe piacere avere notizie da te, forse riusciremo a trovare qualche vecchio legame.
A proposito di stemmi dei Leoni, hai qualche cosa? Io ne ho trovato già uno in un vecchio palazzo di Forino (AV), ma presto una mia parente me ne farà avere un altro.
Spero di ricevere una tua risposta, ho notato che noi Leoni siamo molto legati alle nostre origini.

I know that a man named Olinto Leoni, lived in Brazil and probably was the uncle of my grandfather.
Do you know something about him?In Bahia there is a square (Praça Olinto Leoni) dedicated to him.

Leoni from Portico di Romagna

My research gave me some good results (see last message).
Now I know that my family comes from Luigi Leoni and Maria Anna Tartagli, that born in Portico di Romagna around 1770.
Their son, Antonio Leoni (1802), married Artemisia Bandini (1800) on 1826 and five years later born my tri-grandfather Francesco Leoni.
If someone descend from the same family (brothers of Luigi Leoni or Antonio Leoni), probably from Portico, Rocca San Casciano, Tredozio or Dovadola, please contact me.

They had three children, two boys, Guillermo and Marco Antonio (my father), and a girl, Alma.

Guillermo died at 13. My father had two wifes and three children: Guillermo and Marta (first wife) and Antonio (that's) with the second.

Do you have an idea where your ancestors come from? We have several conflicting stories. Our branch is supposedly from the North of Italy near the Swiss Border. I have also been told, Corsica or Cassino (Monte Cassino) north of Rome. Our branch came out to NZ around 1860 from ??

I can't help you in your research of Corinna Bragaldi's descendants, but I could have some news about Marquis Mario Bragaldi's ancestors.
Giovanni Damasceno BRAGALDI was born in Castel Bolognese in 1765 and he was a famous politic during Napoleon's domination of Italy in the beginning of the eighteenth century. Giovanni Damasceno Bragaldi died in 1829 at Castel Bolognese. I know that one of this sons was a famous scenographer in Italy and then moved to America. I know also that he died in New York. His name was Mario Bragaldi.
Is this Mario Bragaldi the same Mario Bragaldi who is one of your ancestors?
Could you give some informations about the well known artist and architect MARQUIS MARIO BRAGALDI? I don't know anything about him.
It would be nice for me to discover that Marquis Mario Bragaldi was born in my little town and it would be nice for you to know something about your ancestors of seventeenth and eighteenth centuries!

I am looking for descendents of Francesco Leoni and his wife Fortunata Gherardi, born on 1832 in Portico di Romagna, Italy.
The parents of Francesco was Antonio Leoni and Antonia Bandini.
Francesco had 24 children, one of them was my grandfather's father, Luigi.
Today I have found only the discendents of his brothers Elisa and Gaudenzio.
