Can someone please help me? My wife's 4th Great-grandmother is Ursula Letton (Litton?). She was born about 1804 in Bourbon County, Kentucky and married Stephen Terry on 3 Apr 1826. Besides the names of her children, I know nothing else about her or her family. We found several Littons living near them in the 1850 Census, but do not know the connections. My wife would like to find out more about her family. Can someone tell me about Ursula's parents, siblings, and other ancestors?

Thanks!

Hello,

You've probably obtained lots of info since your original post.

I'm a descendant of Benjamin Summers m. Grace Letton dau. of Caleb and Grace Letton. Actually, I descend from Benjamin's brother Dent Summers.

I'v done lots of research on my Summers family who migrated into what is now Monongalia Co, WV where I was born. I've just begun research on others who moved elsewhere and am presently concentrating on Benjamin and Grace.

Today, I found this website re History of Twinbrook development of Rockville, MD which gives history beginning with Caleb Letton. see at: http://www.docstoc.com/docs/2202252/Appendix-1-History-of-Tw...

I also found this website about the cemetery where Caleb and others are buried: http://www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/schools/meadowhalles/Hist...

Contact me if I can be of further assistance.

John Letton and wife Terisa - Scott Co IL

One John Letton (Lelton) aged 38 farm laborer born in Kentucky is residing in 1870 Township 15, Range 12, Lynville, Scott Co Illinois census with wife Terisa aged 30 bn Illinois, with children Ella 8 and Henry 2 both born in Illinois. By 1880, John Letton/Lelton is ?deceased and Mrs. Terrie Lelton/Letton has remarried Carroll C. Mayhew and resides in Jacksonville, Morgan Co, District 169 Illinois with her three children: Ella aged 18, Henry aged 12 and Sally aged 7--all born in Illionis and noted as "stepdaughters and stepson" of Carroll C Mahew. John M. Letton aged 28 born Kentucky and residing in Jacksonville, Morgan Co Illinois in 1860 is enumerated in the house of Mary A. Weaver who apparently has a son Charles S. Weaver aged 16, both born in Kentucky. Charles Weaver aged 27 born in Kentucky is residing in John Letton's household in 1870 --so believe that the John Letton with wife Terisa and John M. Letton residing with Mary A. Weaver are one and the same individual.

Would like to find information on maiden name of Terisa, her birth/death and her children. Am insterested in information on her second husband, Carroll C. Calloway who was a Methodist clergyman. Any assistance will be welcomed.

Jeannette Letton Baker

I am trying to locate any relatives of my mother. Her name was Jeannette Letton Baker and she resides in Elizabethtown, Ky. She was married to Caleb Reffett. We believe her father's name was David Charles Baker. Her mother passed away when she was a small child but we believe the name "Letton" may have been a surname connected with her mother's side of the family. Any information you could give me would be greatly appreciated. Kathy.
