There was a Celia Bonnah/Bonin/Bonnin born to Joseph Bonnah and Mary Ward in 1852. That Joseph Bonnah was born abt 1812 but some records have him born as early as 1800. Celia married a George Letts. I have seen the name spelled many different ways but never Bannaugh. I have quite a bit of info on the Bonnahs if you wish to see it.

Hi,. I am the grandaughter of Ernest Elijah Letts and wife Mary Jane Larigo..both deceased. EEL served in the Worcs Regt First Fzlrs in WW1. Mary Jane (known as Dolly) was a loving mother to 9 children. Ernest dec. Anne dec.Bill alive in Bordesley Gn approx 96yrs..Ron dec.Joe dec.Maisie dec. Ivy Weaver (my mother) alive in Torquay 88yrs. Iris alive in Northfield and June Rose alive 80 in Rockingham Western Australia. Father of MJ was John Larigo a tall dark man..some talk of Italian or Span. Letts and Larigo's lived in the Italian quarter of Brum in Deritend. All inquiries into the Larigo name petered out...does not appear to be Italian by historical research. The Letts crew hail from a small village in the country and moved to the city for work. You have relatives in Tamworth. Grandaughter of EEJ is Pauline Baker lives in Tamworth and two grandsons..Martin Forster in Amington and Andrew Kenny-Levick..dont have addr for him. EEJ died in 1968 never went to US neither did MJ 1958d. I have photos of Ernest Elijah, Mary Jane and Ernests mother Anne Amelia Fitzpatrick. EEJ had a sister Isabella who married Sidney Longstaff, they both went to Fort Quapelle in Sask Canada and settled there on the edge of Echo Lake. If you want more info...happy to help

My name is Ed and I am looking for info about Mabel E L Letts my Great Aunt born 1889 in London, St. Pancras, England. She was raised by one of her fathers sisters (Mrs.Kate Elizabeth (Letts) Beveridge and her husband Herbert Thomas Beveridge)because her parents were both dead by the time she was 12.She did marry and had a daughter Edna but I do not know the husbands name. Edna married a Jack Newman and they had several children one being a daughter Vivian. Mabel's father and mother were Alfred Albert Edward and Catherine (Rowe) Letts. He was the youngest man to have passed the bar exam in England at the age of 22 and died when he was about 29. My Grandmother (Mabel's sister) was Florence Mary Letts and she was raised by her Grandmother Letts from the age of 7. If anyone has any info i would be most interested in making contact.

This John does have a NJ connection but to whom is unknown at this time. As far as I am aware he married Ann. Nancy was a nickname for Ann in those days where as today it is a name in its self. Then he married Elinor. You may have more info. indicating that Ann and Nancy were different wives. I am unfamiliar with Lydia. Please feel free to contact me. I would be interested in hearing more about this family. I think I have read some of your older posts. Please bring me up to date. There is reference to a will for John Letts of Webster. Do you by any chance have it or live in NY? He is associated with the names Lyons and Inman in early Webster history. These surnames did exist in NJ and we do have marriages into the NJ Inman family. So I am very curious.
Jane
mjabsalom@yahoo.com
John Letts was New Jersey born, died in 1872 at age 90 in Penfield (Webster) New York. He lived in the Penfield area from 1810 until his death in 1872. He had four different wives, first Ann, then Nancy, then Elnor, then Lydia. John Letts is buried in the Webster Rural Cemetary next to his second and third wives. Any one know his New Jersey connection? Also would like to know information about his first wife, Ann.

Jean,
I do have this book but please let me know if you come across anything that may help with James and Mary Silver/s Letts in particular. I am sure there are plenty of sources out there that I may not have seen yet. I have found data on some other NJ families in Warren Co. in "The History of Warren County Ohio Part V. Biographical Sketches Union Township" (Chicago, IL: W. H. Beers Co, 1882; reprint, Mt. Vernon, IN: Windmill Publications, 1992) Page 1061. Familiar surnames are Perrine, Budd, Randolph, Laurence/Lawrence, Rogers, Lippincott, Engle, Silver/Silvers, Stokes, Barkalow/Buckelew, Wickoff/Wycoff, Tice, Cox, Borden, Crane, Emley, French, Hunt, Burrows, Haines, Lamb,
"ISAAC CAMPBELL, farmer; P. O. Oregon; was born in Salem Co., N. J., June 1, 1824, and is a son of James and Temperance (Bradford) Campbell, also natives of Salem Co., N.J." (note this is were Hannah "Silver" Letts's family was from) I know your Campbell's were from NY but Andrew found his way in to Hannah "Silver" Letts's family. (They owned a bit of land and in many parts of NJ.)
All these names are associated with the Monmouth, Ocean and Burlington Letts's either by marriage or location in NJ. So I feel this James Letts c. 1811 belongs with one of our Letts lines. I presently have James as a potential son of Campbell Letts son of James and Hannah Campbell with this James being son of Peter and Hannah "Silver" Letts. I am also aware of the distance between Ashtabula Co. and Warren Co. Ohio. I could be way off but it feels like a comfortable fit and deserves further research.
Thank you and keep in touch.
Jane
I find that Elisha's father is Peter and his mother is Hannah Silver.
I have not found any mention of a Samuel.
Joann,
I did not have Peter connected to any one yet and John son of Daniel had no data but I do have a bit from Peter to Mable and Lynn Hilliker. If this rings a few bells I would love to hear more and possibly see a copy of your certificates. They may have some clues that I may recognize. These Letts'es have names and places that over lap with my NJ Letts'es. I believe they may be related but I have to warn you that I found connections to a line from possibly Germany who settled in East Pa. and also owned property in NY. They crossed the river into NJ often and can be traced heading west. In any event they will fit into my vol. of unlinkable Letts'es. and include those who once spelled the name as Litts Lutz Lotts etc. which eventually developed into the spelling of Letts.
you can e-mail be at mjabsalom@yahoo.com
Jane
