Ransom Burnell Lydell (#19 on this ancestor list) and Mina Covey were my great grandparents. They had 8 children I believe - only 3 are listed here. I knew Ella who is listed. My grandmother was Bessie Miranda Lydell Ellenberger. I also knew one of her other sisters well, Lulu Lydell, whose twin brother was Lucius. I can fill you in with more on that line if you're interested.

visiting Archives Office,would they mind looking for
the above marriage in parish registers.Fathers names will
not be recorded (pre 1837) but perhaps witnesses may be of
help if siblings.

I have Thomas Liddell (1806) Bromsgrove, m. Susannah ? (1806) Kings Norton. They moved to Studley abt 1841. Had a son Thomas Liddell (1839). He married Hannah J. Russell (1845) Stourbridge. She had a sister named Sarah Russell (1850) also Stourbridge. Cannot find a marriage for her. Thomas (1839) & Hannah (1845), known to family as Anna, lived in Kingswinford. Thomas was a machine clerk and eventually a glass cutter. They had 6 children: Emily(1865), Henry(1867), Annie(1870), Florence Mae(1873), Ada(1876), and William(1878). Florence Mae is my Grt Grandmother. They immigrated to US in 1884. Am looking for family related to Thomas(1806) & Susannah(1806). Are they related to the many Liddell's of Bromsgrove? Who are their parents? Do they have siblings? Do you know this line? Thank you.

I am resarching the LIDDELL family of Bromegrove, Stourbridge, Chaddesly Corbett, Worcestershire. And also of Kingswinford and Pensnett, Staffordshire. And Studley, Worwickshire. These area's are all very close together, and it seems my family moved from one to another of these towns until settling in Kingswinford. There are 12 families of 47 people of LIDDELL's on the 1841 England Census for Bromesgrove. I can't figure out what the relationship is between these poeple, they are probabley related. Does anyone have any information about these people?

I am searching for any information concerning Eva Winifred Liddell, who was born in October 1888 in Oxford.

She emigrated to Canada sometime around 1910-1912. In October 1913, she married Edward James Turner in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

Any information about her parents, siblings, etc. would be appreciated. I also can't help but wonder if she was related to Alice P. Liddell, the young friend of "Lewis Carroll"?

I had a quick look at your query and I dont think there is an immediate connection, but you never know. My ancester was Joshua Liddell son of James Liddle and Elizabeth. Joshua was born about 1828 in Lambton Durham, he married Isabella Taylor and they lived in Sherborn Hill. They were a family of coal miners in Durham. In 1858 they came to Australia with their children. Joshua had several brothers and sisters, James, Margaret, Joshua x2, John, Edward, Joseph and Anthony (probably others) I dont know what happened to them. I searched my tree for Mary Ann and only found one who died in Australia in 1898. Sorry I cant help but I do know there is a family of Liddell around Oxfordshire. Try googling Edith Liddell and Alice in Wonderland. She is the girl who the story is based on. I cant place her in my tree but you might be the lucky one

I am searching for info on my GGGranfather James LIddell he died in 1927 in Rookwood Asylum. He deserted his wife Elizabeth HUnt in 1896 and left her homeless with 4 children who subsequently went into state care for a while. I would love to know what happened to to him in those missing years

Amongst my grandfather's (Henry Brooks 1893-1979)keepsakes are some photos and letters from WW1 time.
One is of a wedding photo and signed on the back - Loving cousins Mark & S Liddell. Also photos of Liddell family at Coatham House and the one with lady & boy (written on the back is Ethel & Mark). There is also a xmas card and it is to Uncle Harry from Olive Brooks Liddell. I believe Olive is Mark's daughter. Can anyone help me out? I need to find out how the Brooks(or maybe Auther) & Liddell families are connected.

Hi all,

I'm at a loose end with this and just wondered if anyone could help with making a connection please or even point me in the right direction.

I have some information about her but nothing concrete even after a day searching the local archives.

Basically the little i do know is :
- born 1911 in Stockton
- baptised in Thornaby on 18 June 1911
- married John Thomas Heeley on 15 August 1931
- buried on 10 April 1942 in Stockton

I know that she died quite young and John Thomas Heeley went on to marry again and have more children with his second wife.

If anyone could help me out it would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks, St. John R. Liddell, a confederate general during the Civil War, was a slave owner in Catahoula Parish, LA. He was killed (Feb 1870) in a gun battle with another Catahoula Parish slave owner, Charles Jones. Again, thanks.

I don't know of anyone connected to the Liddell family with the surname "St. John." My guess is the Liddells took "St. John" from the Bible. Southerners often named their children from the Bible, and sometimes named their children such things as "Queen Elizabeth" or "Doctor."

EAST SIDE WOMAN DEAD ON CHAIR.

Had been Talking to Son-In-Law a Few Minutes Before.

Harriet, widow of John M. Liddell, was found dead on a chair at the home of her daughter, 339 N. George St., about 5:55 o'clock Friday morning, death having occurred between 5:39 and 5:55 o'clock, she having conversed with her son-in-law, John Edmonds, shortly after 5:30 o'clock. Deceased has been in ill health for some time, and it is thought that heart trouble was the cause of her demise. Deceased was a lifelong resident of Pottsville, having been born here. She was a member of the Methodist church of town and was well known locally. Her husband died 17 year ago, and until a short time ago she resided on Minersville St. A couple weeks ago she decided to live with her daughter, and resided with her at the time of her death.

To survive her she has one daughter, Annie, wife of John Edmonds, and a son, Morgan, employed as shipping clerk at the P. & R. C. & I. Co. shops. A grandchild also survives. Interment will be made in town on Monday.

Hi guys, i am looking for my maternal grandmothers family that may be residing in liverpool. My mum carol was born in 1965 in liverpool N, my grandmothers name was/is lillian liddell/leonard born 1941, my mum also has an older half brother richard/ricky liddell born 1960. my mum hasn't seen any of these family members since she was a baby and would like to find out if anyone knows or is related to the liddells i'm talking about.

My Robert Theodore Liddell's father was John Liddell, born about 1809 in England. He married Emily of Emeline Wooden in Baltimore, Maryland. She was born about 1812 in Maryland. John died 2 Apr 1854 in Baltimore, and Emily died 24 Oct 1860 in Balrimore. They had 6 children. Family legend says we go back to Scotland, bur I don't know anything more about John.

Susan E Liddell's maiden name was Susan E Bomberger. She married Robert Theodore Liddell about 1865 in Baltimore, MD. She was born 9 May 1844 in Baltimore, MD and died 25 Jul 1924 in a Methodist Church Home for the aged in Baltimore, MD. Her parents were John H Bomberger and Susan Loudenslager. I mistakenly geve Susan Loudenslager as Roberts wife in another post.

Robert Theodore Liddell was born 4 Jan 1844 in Baltimore, MD, and died 4 Oct 1914 in Baltimore, MD. He married Susan Loudenslager.
They had a son Robert Liddell, born 1872, and died Bef 1910.

There was also a Robert T Liddell born 4 Mar 1893 in Baltimore, MD, and he died About 1978 in Baltimore, MD. This Robert, a relative of Robert Theodore Liddell, married Natalie Unknown.

I think we might be cousins! In the 1900 census, there is a Norris Liddell, age 5, listed in the household of Reese Liddell, who was my grandfather's oldest brother.

Hello - My cousin Vincent Bragg and I have really been working hard on this lineage. We found that instead of Moses our ggg-grandfather was named Morris Liddell. Our ggg-grandmother was named Eliza Cockrell-Liddell. They and their children were born in South Carolina. The family members were buried in either Anderson or Lovern Cemeteries in Winston County, MS. I will look at your information, and see if I can find any connections. Thanks for responding.
