Hello,

I am looking for information on my great great grandparents, Telesphore Lizotte and Germaine Lange. They lived in Madawaska County, New Brunswick, and the only child of theirs that I know of is my Great Grandfather, Lionel Tady Lizotte who was born in 1917, he was married twice, first to Attrude Elizabeth Smith and second to Blanche Doiron (they married in Maine) . Any information on Telesphore and Dermiene or their son, I would appreciate.

Thank you!

I'd need more details to know for sure (which I understand you don't have), but I would guess any relation is extremely distant at best.

You never know, though - people did travel!

That said, I did check my tree, just in case. But I didn't find any Alfred Lizottes nor Alfred Joseph Lizottes.

However, I will definitely drop you a line should I come across any likely matches during the course of my research.

Best of luck with your research, & thanks for being in touch!

Re: Evelyn Lizotte

Hi there. Yes, I have lots of information on Evelyn. She and Charles had two children: Ruth E. (b. Aug of 1899) and Leroy F (b. July 19, 1908). Ruth later married a Mr. Mullin. Leory married but I do not know his wife's name. Leroy worked as a police officer and he served in WWII. He died in Dec. of 1970.

I believe that Charles Dailey died sometime before Leroy was born. On June 26, 1911, Evelyn got remarried to William Emerson Bass, son of William Bass and his wife Mary. Evelyn had Walter had at least six children: Etta, who was known as Lila (b. Nov 15, 1911); Loretta R. (b. Nov. 8, 1914); Dorothy Myrtle (b. Jan 15, 1917); Catherine G. (b. Nov 19. 1918); Mildred (b. abt. 1920); and Walter E. Jr.

Lila married first James H. Morris on Sept 6, 1930. She later married Harold Lovelace. They lived in Warwick, RI and he was a truck driver. He died in Oct of 1978.

Loretta married Mr. Gonsalves.

Catherine married Henry Crossman. They lived in Danielson, CT. Catherine died on Oct 21, 1998, and Henry died on Feb 15, 1976.

Mildred married Mr. Lamphere and they lived on Apple Blossom Lane in Providence. She later married a Mr. St. Pierre and had three children. She died on May 26, 1995 and was buried in the Highland Memorial Park in Johnston.

Dorothy married Byron Soule around 1935 and they had nine children. When the kids were very young, Dorothy vanished. She walked away from the marriage. Byron had to place all of the kids in an orphanage, and they were adopoted out to various families--split apart forever. Dorothy then moved in with a William T. Farrell and had at least two children with him. Around 1951, she walked away from that marriage when the kids were small. Mr. Farrell put those kids up for adoption.

Around 1952, Dorothy moved in with Albert R. Charboneau. He wanted to get married, but she refused. (She knew she had never divorced Byron Soule, and so that would be bigamy.)She told him that she only wanted to live together. She never told him anything about her previous children, or Byron, or William, etc. They had one son, Albert Jr. He died in 2001. For 47 years, she never mentioned one word to Mr. Charboneau about her children. One of them found her and called her one day. She hung up on him.

Dorothy was a very cold and heartless woman. Mr. Charboneau suspected that she was unfaithful during the time they lived together. She worked as a home health care nurse for 47 years, at the Rhode Island Hospital. She died on Nov 7, 1999 of stomach cancer and was buried in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery.

Meanwhile, her husband Byron Soule moved to Dallas around 1954 and became a cook at the Candlelite Restaurant in Arlington. He died on June 1, 1977 and was buried in the Moore Memorial Gardens. There is no marker at his grave.

Please contact me.

I'm wondering if he might be the same as your Charles LEZOTT (b.1867-New York).
He married Julia Mayo and raised a family in Nashua, NH.
Did they move back to Canada or stay in Maine? I'd like to understand if they are the same people. I have little information about Bruno Lizotte and Caroline Chaloup.

One thought was that Joseph Lizotte, brother of Bruno, assumed his identity when/if he moved to the US with Caroline. Would like to confirm this or not if this is one of your relatives.

Gentlemen,

It is with great pleasure that I address you both a decade later & I genuinely apologize for this.

As you both might be well aware that this kind of work gets very confusing & trying at times & at least for me it is a reason why I takes breaks from time to time.

Since I have restarted my research a few months ago ... I have compiled a vast quantity of information regarding our ancestors. This time I have my mother in law, the former Susan Lavoie, Robertine's granddaughter on board who is of great benefit.

I don't know if you guys will be alerted of my reply (so many years later] but hopefully we can reconnect & join forces.

Warmest Regards,
Isabel C Collette
Robertine's Great Granddaughter in law.
Family mystery

My great grandfather was Bruno/Henry Lizotte dit Morin.

Birth 9 juillet 1854 in Québec
Death 19 Nov 1941 in Mattawa, Ontario, Canada
father Joseph Lizotte
mother Esther Hudon dit Beaulieu

Prior to moving to Mattawa, he went by Bruno Lizotte and married Caroline Chaloup in Montreal. This is where the mystery starts. There are no records other than the marriage between the two, and then he shows up in Mattawa, going by Joseph Morin instead of his Bruno Lizotte.

There are family rumours about misdoings, trouble with the law, etc... I'd like to get any information about this Bruno Lizotte, Caroline Chaloup and what happened in Montreal...

Thanks for any help

Basilisse Gagnon, m. Thomas Lizotte, L'Isle Verte, Qué > Connor Plt/Van Buren, ME, trying to document American Indian ancestry.

Hello, I'm looking for any information regarding the family of Basilisse Gagnon (1843-1921), particularly with regard to her American Indian heritage, along with any other family information & history anyone may wish to learn and/or share. Basilisse Gagnon was b. 1843 in L'Isle-Verte, Qué, m. 1861 in L'Isle-Verte, Québec to Thomas Lizotte (1838-1922) of Ste-Anne-de-la-Pocatière, Qué, & d. abt 1921 in Connor Plt., ME. Soon after they married, the couple relocated to Van Buren & Connor Plantation, Aroostook co., Maine. Baptism & marriage records list her parents as Pierre Gagnon (1806-1881) & Marie Emelie Hudon dit Beaulieu (1810-1891). Thomas & Basilisse (Gagnon) Lizotte had at least 11 children, one whom was Peter/Pierre (1871-1936) who m. 1897 to Febronie Dubé (1879-1944). Both Peter & Febronie were born in Connor Plt, ME & both died in Winslow, ME. There is extensive first-hand familial knowledge of the fact that Peter Lizotte's mother was an American Indian of unknown tribal affiliation or descent. My research has yet to provide sufficient documentation of this fact, however. And while I'm still actively searching for this information, and while I don't necessarily expect to be able to document it conclusively, it would be most delightful to find any fellow descendants out there who might be able & willing to help fill in some of these intriguing branches of our family history. And to be clear - my interest is certainly not limited to learning about our American Indian heritage; & I'm equally interested in learning and/or sharing any information related to any & all aspects of our family history - it's ALL fascinating to me! Many thanks in advance for your interest...

Lizotte - MA

In doing research on a branch of the Lizotte family that migrated from Lake Linden (Hancock), Houghton County, MI to the Fitchburg/Gardner, Worcester County, MA area ca. 1893, I offer the following to other researchers looking at this line:
Adolph Lizotte (b. Feb 1852 in Canada) (1900 census shows surname as Ligotte). Adolph married Hermiline Baril 25 Jul 1875, Ste. Ursule, Maskinonge, Que(she died in 1887 in Houghton). Children: Henry/Henri A., b. 12 Apr 1881, d. 1951; Edmond A., b. 17 Dec 1883, d. 1954; Rose, b. 1892,d. 1941. Adolph remarried to Pheilonise/Felonise Marineau 8 Jan 1889 at Ste Leon, Maskinonge, Que. Daughter Florence born 1907. Both Adolph and Pheilonise died in 1918 and are buried with Adolph's daughter Rose in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Fitchburg, under a headstone labeled Charette, family name of Rose Lizotte's husband, Sylva T. Charette. Henry and his wife, Emma Landry (1881-1981), and Edmond and his wife, Cordelia (1878-1934) are also buried in St. Joseph's Cemetery. I have additional information and welcome comments.

He was born Feb.20, 1941 in Massachusetts. I still do not know his fathers name. I think that I am going to have to get his birth certificate and find out.

this is fascinating - but it only makes me ask more questions: what happened to Vilmiere & Philomene? Are there dates of death known? Are they buried in Marlboro?

When my grandfather refers to growing up in a house full of family on Lincoln Street, is that house still standing?
