Thanks - except for the Lilliam Lockerman marriage date, I have all that info, plus a lot more of the descendants. John and Mary (along with granddaughter Mattie) were buried in the field behind their house (which my family still owns) but their stones were moved to Zoar PFWB church around 1990. Incidentally, Ancestry transcribes one of their kids as "Panda", but it was Panola. I was hoping to find anything further back for John or Mary, but we have only stories and guesses. I have pictures and other info if anyone would like them. Email me at Ddregs444@juno.com
I have trying to find out about my aunt who was sent to Kansas by orphan train in 1911. I know through an obituary of a family member that her name in 1940 was Mrs. Rena Lockerman and that she lived in Kansas. Does anyone know anything about her or what Lockerman she married? She would have been about 33 in 1940. She grew up with the Lakeman family who lived in both Clay County and later moved to Reno County Kansas.

I would be very appreciative if anyone knows anything about her.

I am a descendant of Louisa Catherine Fardwell and George William Kirwan and would like to see what you may have discovered. I have seen the listing of the chancery papers on the MD State Archives web site, but have not had a chance to go look at the film or order a copy. Was the Chancery paper useful? Have you found other info on either family?

Thanks,
Dave

George (H) W Lockerman from Dooly Co GA is my greatgrandfather

My gg grandfather was John Lockerman born 1810 in NC married to Georgia Rebecca Wilson born 1812 who both moved from Sampson County North Carolina in the mid 1800's to Dooly County, Georgia. I am trying to determine if our branch of the NC Lockermans can be traced back to Maryland/Delaware areas and then to the New Netherlands (Early New York) to three Lookerman brothers named Govert, Pieter and Jacob who came to the America's from Holland. John and Rebecca's children that I have found include; Britton Alexander, Willis J., Arron J. Enoch Ward who died in Union prison camp, John Allen who fought at Sharpesburg, MD, Elizabeth, Zadie , Melinda or Melissa, born 1852 and George Henry Washington Lockerman born 13 April, 1858. Both John (father) and son Allen also called John Allen were in the l8th Regiment Georgia Infantry. A good bit of Civil War history is available on John Allen and his later marriage to three Johnson sisters and another Johnson sister Marcella lived with them. Enoch Ward was captured at Cumberland Gap and died in prison at Fort McDonald, IL. My grandfather was John Thomas Lockerman and his father was George Henry Washington Lockerman (The W was sometimes used for Willis, seems he used Washngton and Willis interchangably. GHW Lockerman born abt 1847 married Ella Henrietta Downing and they had 13 children; Zephariah L., John Thomas, Rebecca M., Walter, Wallis, Allen, Rosa B., Charles W. and twin Chesseley L., Ola M., Mattie L., and George Willis Lockerman. My grandfather John Thomas born 1880 died 1933 was married to Kate Magnolia Hudson born 1890 died 1972. They had the following children Pauline, John T., Maude L., Roy (died infant) Myrtis, and my father Hollis Eugene Lockerman died 1987. Reguesting any info on this family, especially links to and from North Carolina. Birth and death dates, places of burial, etc are available for anyone who might be interested. I also have a little more info on the ones who fought in the Civil War.

I have been searching for alot and have gathered alot information by myself and through many other kind people who did look ups for me . Are they any photo's of Louisa Allen or her parents in Exsistance or the Burgess'es I heard that Sissie Burgess Folbs is the one who donated the land for oakland cemetery do you know if this is true ? My Grandmother started me on this quest for family and i never thought i would enjoy it as much as i do. I have always liked Mystery type books and movies and could'nt wait for them to expose the plot or what truly happened . I guess is why my grandma choose me to do research. I have all the names of everyone buried in oakland except for two and the bad part is there are 4 graves in the cemetery 2 of them are John Wesley Allen Mary Emma Ivey my delimma is which two are them and who are the other two. . I don't know much about my Cross linage . Also i am looking for the Burial place for Sallie Lockerman Wright and Green Wright do you know anything on them ? Thank you so much for all the info you sent you don't know how much i appreciate it . I am very greatful . Thanks Lori Webb spud16@bellsouth.net

Hi. I'm looking for any information on Leila "Lilly" Lockerman who married William Fardwell in Baltimore, Maryland on October 28,1819. Leila and William had these children: Elizabeth Leila, Eliza Isabelle, Mary Ann, George, Louisa Catherine. I think Leila was the daughter of a Josiah Loockerman. Also, William and Lilly Lockerman Fardwell's names were listed in a Chancery Court document of Dorchester County regarding the estate of Thomas Loockerman. Thanks.

Sorry, but as far as we can tell, our relative John Mason Lockerman of Salemburg is not related. I haven't been able to go back any further than him, so I can't be sure. Family legend has it that he came from Great Britain, although the census records say he was born in NC in 1829. We still have some digging to do, so there may be a link.
Interested in finding lineage of Enoch Lockerman. He married Nancy Starling. Their daughter, Colon Lockerman married Jonathan Nunnery, my wife's great grandfather. Colon was born 14 Aug 1848 and died 20 Jan 1930. They are buried in Hall's Cemetery across from Macedonia Baptist Church in the Stedman area. If you can connect them with your group, let me know. My e-mail is fernaldj@juno.com. We lived in the Autryville area for years and are still close by. Would love to see what you have.

Stacy, why the spelling change, is most likely due to folks not being able to read and write so therefore whoever was doing the "writing" for them spelled it how they wanted. Within my grandmothers the sibling spelled it differently: Lockamy/Lackamon/Lockerman.-Do you have any info. on the early arrivals, I am looking for a James Dalton Lockerman/Lockamon who married Alice Orene Dale.
