I am the daughter of Silvie Gray London White County Arkansas. Most people called him Gray. My daughter and I have come to a dead end in our search and have many questions.

What we know for sure:

Marcus and Louisa wortham London had Thomas L. London. Louisa died shortly after Thomas was born and Marcus married a woman nicknamed Kizzie.

Thomas and Myrtle Taylor London had my father Silvie Gray London.

We cannot find anything before Marcus. A lot of people accociate my ancestry with Amos London. However, I have seen and read Opal Cox London's book and according to her book Marcus London, Amos's son, died of diptheria before the 1870 census. Any information would be greatly welcome and appreciated.

Clair County, Michigan, with his wife, Sarah (1837, Canada), and their

(1859, Michigan)...HE WAS LIVING NEXT DOOR TO AARON (1784, NEW YORK) AND NANCY LONDON (1785, NEW YORK).

The thinking is that AARON and Nancy were his parents. Looking for any definitive word on that or anyone who knows something about this line.

I am the granddaughter of Wenceslas Charles Pavely & Maud Peatling. They were married in 1910 & had 1 daughter Olive Maud born 1915 They emigrated to Canada, grandad about 1923 & Grandma & mom in about 1924. Grandad's birth was registered the first quarter 1889 but his actual birth date was Dec 28. His parents were, I think Peter Pavely & Elizabeth Ann Noakes. He was born in the district of Edmonton, Essex, Hertfordshire, Middlesex. Grandma was born in London Aug.4 1889 in during the chiming of Bow Bells .Her parents were Joseph Samson Peatling & Henrietta Buck. They each had several siblings. I am at a standstill as census records stop at 1910. I also used to write to a cousin in my younger years named David Delasalle . I have tried this route to locate his parents & grandparents. I would welcome any information for my geneology research.

Hello -- I am doing research on songs the Loudon/Louden/Lowden families may have brought with them from Scotland/Ireland for a book I am writing about my mother - a Loudon. One specific song is "Frog Went A Courtin'" -- This version is not the one I learned in grade school, but the one my mother sang to me. The words and tune are slightly different: "Frog went a-courting and he did ride,Rinktum, boby, minchy, cambo, Sword and buckler by his side.Rinktum, boby, minchy, cambo,Kimaneero down to Cairo Kimaneero Cairo Straddle addle ladda bobbo Ladda bobbo linktum,Rinktum, boby, minchy, cambo." My husbands grandfather Solomon London was a Polish Jew born Posen/Poznan (Poland/Germany) c1836. He married Emilie Mendel (possibly born Hamburg Germany) but we don't know when or where. Solomon moved to London UK prior to 1886... was this where the surname comes from or is London an Anglicised version of something else. On Uk 1891 & 1901 census he is listed as a master tailor.
Anyone got any ideas on how wew go about finding births and their marriage and possibly correct surname of Solomon as we have drawn a blank so far.

I know that Rosanna York was born in 1879 in Alabama(Probably Calhoun County)and she married Allen London. allen London died in 1912 and Rosanna married a Oscar Turns latter that year in Hopkins County,TX. It is Thought that Rosanna York London Turns(The daughter of Hiram York and Catherine Dison)died between 1914(when her daugher Pearl was born) and 1920 in Hopkins county,tx. However Texas does not have a record of her death and neither does Hopkins county or surrounding counties.
Any help to find when Rosanna York London Turns death date is appreciated.

With the help of a Younger Family researcher, I recently found a key London file at Giles Co, Tn. It is the settlement for Amos London, Jr estate beginning in 1859.The file contains the names of all of Amos Sr's children and their spouses, children, grandchildren and even one gr grandchild. This information adds a lot to the data found in "The London Family" by Opal London Cox including 2 previously unreported daughters - Elizabeth and Anna, who married Brice Jackson and John Palmer, respectively. I'll be glad to share this great new find but will have to charge for the cost of copying, postage and handling. It will run $12 per set.

My gr gr gr grandfather was Wiley O. Taylor, born in abt. 1807 inTennessee, died in Wood County, Texas. He married Adeline Elizabeth London, also born abt. 1807. I have information on the London family, but Adeline appears to have left the family and there is not as much information on her.

Two of her sons died in the Civil War, Wiley O Taylor, Jr and Charles L. Taylor. Another child was Amanda Malvina Taylor.

Family lore says that Wiley was related to Alf & Bob Taylor of Tennessee. Family lore also says that the Taylors had Cherokee blood, and family picture certainly show that possibility.

Does anyone have information on this family?

Samuel and Anna had a number of children, including Mollie Levy and Ida Levy.

I know that Mollie Levy married Abe London, and they had Evelyn London, Edith London, Fred London, and Faith London.

I do not know who Ida Levy married, but I know that her daughter's name was Loretta.

Any info on the Pokrasse family who emigrated from Russia (perhaps Ukraine) around the 1890s. Especially the contingent who came to London - some went to America.
They changed their name to Brandon in the early 1900s. I particularly want Henry - born around 1888 (presumably in Russia) and died in 1952 in London.

London's from Ranworth Norfolk area

I have a Charles London b. abt 1825 Ranworth Norfolk. I searched the 1861 census and it looks like Charles was very likely married to an Elizabeth Kerrison or Eliza Thurkittle in 1845.
Then in the 1871 census he has remarried to a Charlotte (possibly nee Davison) b. abt 1846 Bighton Norfolk.
Can anyone shed any light to his first marriage? Or to Charlotte's maiden name?

TRAVERSE CITY - Jack London, 74, of Saginaw and Green Valley, Ariz., died Friday at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
Born Oct. 7, 1924, in Big Rapids, he was the son of Lola and Mary Jane (Gilmer) London. On Aug. 30, 1947, in Grand Rapids, he married Marjorie A. Vis.
Jack was a veteran of World War II and served in the U.S. Marines. He moved from Grand Rapids to Saginaw in 1956 and joined the Germania Club, the Elks and the First United Methodist Church - all of Saginaw. He had retired from Merrill Lynch as a vice president and stock broker.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie; a daughter, Linda (Randy) Williamson of Traverse City; a sister, Alma Yates of Hartford; two sisters-in-law, Frances Vis of Grandville and Ruth London of Jackson; and several nieces and nephews.
Jack was preceded in death by a brother, Ray, and a sister, Margaret Smith.
Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Road, Saginaw, and from 10 a.m. to the 11 a.m. services Wednesday at First United Methodist Church in Saginaw. Cremation will take place after services.
Memorials may be directed to the First United Methodist Church, one's hospice, or the donor's choice.

I am searching for any info on Elizabeth Elvira London (Londay) who married Hiram P. Parks in 1851 in Haywood Co., NC. She was is buried near Hendersonville in Etowah, NC having died in 1927. She is in the Berry Parks (grandson) household in 1920. Hiram is buried in the Meadowfork Baptist Church Cemetery in Madison Co., NC.
Londay was on an old marriage record that I found somewhere but I have found no other record of any Londay families anywhere. I could find no death certificate in Henderson or Madison Counties.

I am looking for the London Family Bible given to to Mrs.(P.W.) Hiden after Miss Lila London, grandaughter of Mrs Anne London Higginbotham died. Mrs. P.W. Hiden is Martha Woodroof Hiden and she has large genealogical collections in Newport News,Virginia, Viriginia Historical Society and the Library in Richmond VA, but the London Family Bible that was in her possession is not at any of those locations. Does anyone know if the Hiden Family still has the Bible or was the Bible given to a London Family Member? Has anyone from the William London line know of this Bible? My grandmother(Dorthy London Holden) is from this Line, Her father is Alllen Warner London who died in 1912. I would like to be able to see a photo of that Bible and have a photocopy of the notes in that Bible if possible. Any Help in this search is appreciated. I supect is the Bible is anywhere to be found it is in Virginia.

I descend down the following line: James London (1740 - VA) - Martin London (1787 - VA) - James Bartley London (1821 - TN) - Andrew Warren London (1860 - KY) - Clifford Bartley London (1890 - KY) - Julia Allene London (1912) - Mary Lee Sparks (1937) - Janita Dale Gaddis (1960).

Thank you for the opportunity to make contact. I am writing in reference to my ancestors Susannah Jackson and Richard Henry Jones. It has been very difficult to track these people down, and would be grateful for any assistance.

As far as I know Susannah Jackson was born in Launceston, Tasmania at approx. 1861 using dates from death records. She married Richard Henry Jones in 1879, Victoria, Australia. Susannah died 3 January 1934 at Kew, Vic. On Susannah's death certificate, it states that she resided in Victoria for 60 years, and in Tasmania for 13 years. I do not know as yet when Richard Henry Jones or Susannah came to Victoria, Australia.

Richard Henry Jones was born in London in the 1850's to 1861. According to the microfiche records of Deaths in Victoria, his parents were Michael Jones and Margaret Oughton (Houghton or Haughton). Richard Henry Jones died in 1924 at Kew, Victoria.

Richard and Susannah Jones had three children - Henry William (known as Harry) b.1887, Elsie may b. 1890 and Eva Esther b. 1895. Eva Esther Jones, my grandmother, was born in Brunswick, Victoria in 1895 . Eva Esther Jones married Henry Bracewell Cain in 1916. (I have some information from this point onwards.)

Apparently, Richard worked in the newspaper industry,as a printer for The Age newspaper in Melbourne, Vic. The Jones and Jackson families are found on my mother's side of the family.

I'm sorry there's not much more I can tell you at this time, but look forward to increasing any knowledge in this regard..

Would somebody in London who is able to look up death records, please help me. I'm trying to find a death date for John Gibson, who died sometime between Oct 1784 & July 1795 in London.
John Gibson was b. 26 Sept 1763 Saint Stephan Coleman Street, London. His parents were Jermyn Gibson & Ann Craddock.
He married Sarah Walker 21 Oct 1784. They had 2 children, John Gibson, & Ann. After her husband & son died Sarah & Ann moved to USA.
LDS history center tells me they have no microfilms for parish death records before 1825. If somebody in London knows where death records are stored & would look this up for me, I sure would appreciate it. Thank you very much. Phyllis

In researching the London family for a friend, I, like most of you am stopped by Amos London born in 1737. In trying to figure out who might have been his father, I came across a Jacob London in Massachusetts in 1698. He married a Mary Foster there.
I also looked in England and found a Jacob London, son of Abel, born 8 Mar 1711 in Pitstone, Bucks., England. Whereas three of his brothers are listed with children, there is no mention for him. He is the right age to have come to America and eventually fathered Amos London in 1737.
Do any of you have some way of finding out if there is any connection with these two I mention?

Written by R.B. Condry. His parents were Henry Clay Condry-Alabama, Sept. 15, 1844 & Sara M. London Condry-Georgia, Sept. 8, 1849. The book also lists their 18 other children, their birth & some dates of death. This is more of the life of R.B. (Russell Blevins). He was very much into music and how & places music schools started - in Oklahoma, some I think in Ark. or Mo. (not totally sure of that). The back of the book has songs, spiritual, that R.B. wrote and some pictures in the back.
