Hi

I am pleased to finally find a member of this side of the family tree, Sow Loo married my great grandfathers brother Christian, it is a side of the tree that has proved very hard to track down, Catherine lived on Selbourne Street Liverpool 8.
I have a copy of a letter relating to an inheritance claim back in 1953 from her side of the family as her father was Danish.
Far to much to go on about on the message board please get in touch via graham1robinson@aol.com and hopefully we could clarify a few things about the families. Many thanks Graham

Hi Julie

I got your message re Bernard Loo, yes I have got the same 2 Loo's in the 1911 census. All the Loo family seem to be related, my g grandfather was Bernard and so was his father both had sons Patrick. How are you related as my grandmother's brother Patrick also died in 1960 but in Armagh. I have a lot on the Loo family so if I know how you are related I might have more information. Are you in UK? I am going to UK end of Feb to do more research and visit with family. I am so pleased to hear from you as we don't get many replies for the Loo's. I am in Tasmania, Australia.

Elizabeth Ernest lizkered@bigpond.com

Did Betsy have a brother named Gust? There is a Lars Loo on the 1900 MInnesota census, living in Sargent North Dakota. His wife is Segerid. Then in 1910 I see a Segred Loo living in Alexandria Minnesota with her son I suppose, Gust Loo, and his family. My grandfather was in business with Gust Loo in Alexandria.

I know that Gust Loo was Swedish.

Taryn from Minnesota

The query has not been placed anywhere other than here. That said, he is included on the family truploaded to Ancetry.com and Genes reunited (uk).

The trouble I have is the Loo side of the family are all, but a few great grand children, dead and buried. I have found nothing in official records for Sow Loo although he existed at a time when I should have been able to find marriage certificate and death certificate at worst.

He is likely to be buried in the Chinese section of the Anfield Cemetery in Liverpool UK, but as I don't even know how to write his name in chinese, I don't have much chance of finding him. I can't find the official record or buriel too, but certain he is there.

Big question is though, even if I get things straight here, is there any way of tracing family in Canton through official records or is that totally impossible? Where did you get the info re the Loo Family, railway line and Canton and that sort of stuff?

Any pointers appreciated.

Sow Loo

Does anyone know anything about Sow Loo. He came from Canton to England and lived in Liverpool where he married Catherine Johhnson. We think he died at the end of the War 1945ish. He owned 3 Chinese Laundries and when he died he was held in some sort of Ritual holding in Liverpool's China Town.
