Looking for Losoya family line from Zacatecas. I have found family connections with the above spellings. The Losoya's originally came from the Pozo Hondo,Zacatecas area, then traveled to Coahuila and eventually around the early 1900s came to San Antonio, Texas area. Losoya names: Marcos, Dionacia, Josefa, Macimianna (my grandmother who married Pablo Gonzales). If any of this sounds familiar I would love to hear from you.

HI, My Losoya connection comes from Zacaecas-Fermin Losoya married Guadlupe Villegas abt 1860s although have not been able to confirm through documentation. Maybe they came fro Chih. They had a daughter named Maccimiana (my grandmother), Dionicia, and Marcos. This is documented through baptismals of their childrens childre. Please review your records and see if any of the above names connect with your line. Thanks in advance.

Hi, I have Losoya in my lineage. My Losoya's came from Mexico (Pozo Hondo, Zacatecas). My grandmother's(Maccimiana Losoya married to Pablo Gonzales/z) father was named Fermin Losoya. My grandmother was born abt 1860s. She had a brother Marco Losoya and 2 sisters Josefa and Dionicia. Since your grandfather's name is Farmin I thought there might be a connection further back than his generation. As a side note my grandmother and her family also lived in Coahuila (San Pablo de las colonias) before coming to Texas and settling in Gonzales, Texas around 1908. Please consider the connection and let me know what you think. Thanks!
HRuiz

Hi, since I'm also researching my ancestry from Chih., I came across info. on Pedro Losoya. While looking thru the Camargo baptism records, I found a Maria Francisca de Jesus Lozoya(born 3/10/1886 in Camargo), daughter of Pedro Lozoya and Luisa Dominguez. Pedro is the son of Reducindo Losoya and Francisca Rodriguez. Luisa is daughter of Jose Maria Dominguez and Macedonia Rivera.
Reducindo is the son of Prudencio Losoya and Maria Felipa Dominguez or Rivera?? from Santa Cruz de Valerio, Chih.
We are actually very distant related. I have more info if you are interested. My email is carlos_lozoya@yahoo.com
Hope to hear from you!
.

<br&gt
Just curious... have you heard of an alternate spelling of Losoya? Refering to Losoria, Lozolla, Losolla. Do you have any Losoyas in Zacatecas?

I have read as many books as I can find about Losoya 's > I read in a book that Pancho Villa was captured and held by two Losoya's for the federales to take him . I even found the brand the Losoyas used for branding their cattle. I think I found that in a book at the main library in San Antonio at least 20 years ago . I have so much packed away and started on researching genealogy .

Antonio, my name Ruben Losoya. I was born in Alpine, TX. I am the son of Ruben Olivo Losoya and grandson of Abel Losoya, and Great grandson of Don Jose Losoya. My father keeps talking about the Federales that captured and killed Pancho Villa was a Losoya. Our relatives come from the Del Rio and San Antonio Area also. My aunt Anita Losoya Pyle has researched alot of information on the Losoya surname. I would like to chat a little bit on Losoya. Which means "I am created now".

Talk to you later

I don't know if you're still out there-- hope so! My great-grandfather had a sister named Maria del Rayo Castro Prieto. My great-grandfather married Andrea Losoya Calderon. Her parents were were Anselmo Calderon and Carmen Losoya. Her siblings were Clemente, Miguel, Virginia, Ricardo, and Elfida. I don't know if we have a LoSoya connection, but certainly a Prieto one!

Hi zzyaquistar,
I have never heard Yaqui mentioned in the Losoya family but that doesn't mean it is not possible. I have heard of Kickapoo lineage but I have yet to prove or disprove. Did any of the names (Fermin, Maccimiana or Maria Guadalupe) sound familiar? My g-grandfather Fermin was probably born about 1825 and my grandmother Maccimiana was born about 1860 or so. Maccimiana and husband Pablo (Gonzales) eventually came to Gonzales, Texas around 1908. I do know that Maccimiana (Losoya) had family in San Antonio around the around 1920 and 30s but I do not know if they were siblings. Looking forward to your response.

H.
HI,
I too have Losoya in my family tree. My Losoya connection came from Mexico but I do not know exactly where. Possibility of Zacatecas, Coahuila and Jalisco. My g-grandfather's name was Fermin Losoya married to Maria Guadalupe Villegas circa 1850s. They had my a daughter named Maccimiana who married a Pablo Gonzales who's parents were Sevas Gonzales and Felipa Rosales. I would appreciate if you would look in your lineage to see if there is any connection. Eager for a response.

H. Ruiz

I did research at THE ALAMO in San Antonio ,they said the reason the Lozoya's are all related from there is because the rest of the Lozoya's was told to return to Mexico with a promise that they could return. Also the Lozoya's I e-mailed you about lived at different times up and down the Rio Grande Valley. They have one daughter Josefa born in 1920. I would really like to connect with the entire families of all the descendants.

I have traced my Lozoya family and they are related to the one 's in San Antonio. My grandfather Pedro Lozoya I'm sure was from Mexico. He lived in Brownsville, Tx with his wife Manuela (Marine). His fathers' name was Jose and his wife was Refugio Torres. Not having much luck at this point. From 1900 back and forward is what I' trying to connect with

Hi Danielle,
Since your posting is under the Losoya message board, I was wondering if you by chance have a Maximiana/Masima Losoya in your family tree. She would have been born abt. 1860 and she married a Pablo Gonzales. They lived in Coahuila but I am not certain where she was born.

Hope

Hi Daniel,
I wrote to you about 5 years ago regarding Maximiana Losoya. I was wondering if since then you have come across her name, especially if you indeed researched Del Rio. I am and have been at a dead end with this elusive Losoya family. I was recently told of the possibility of Maxima being Kickapoo Indian. Have you come across any Losoyas with that connection? Anxious for a reply.
