I have traced Robert F. Loss back to Kansas. He married an Annie Crosby from Ireland there in 1871. He was in the military and came to Montana in 1877. His father was Frederick Loss and his Mother was Augusta Luxkey. He said that they were from Germany and they arrived in the US about 1852. He was born in 1847. Just curious if anybody has info on this family prior to 1871.

I am looking for information on Loss' in the mentioned areas. Of particular interest are Stephenson County and Jefferson County, IL, and Green County, WI. An older brother of my ggg-grandfather, Benjamin Loss, moved to Stephenson County around 1869. His name was John Loss and I've already accumulated some information. I am willing to share all the information I have on them as well as on all descendants of Jacob Looss (Looß), who arrived in Philadelphia in 1753 aboard the ship Edinburgh.

Loss Family - Italian origins

I have an on-line family tree (with photos) going back to the 1500's for the Loss Family from the Primiero Valley in Northern Italy. There are no know links to English or Germany Losses but there are still many gaps I'd like to fill out. Email me for details (rlossrd@cc.curtin.edu.au)

Ciao
Loss/Lose/Loos/Loose of Central and Southeastern PA

Anyone researching the listed surnames in Centre, Clinton, Mifflin, Schuylkill, Snyder, and Union Counties please come to the "Loss" site at myfamily.com. I just started building it so it's little more than a "trunk" right now. I have added a few branches. If you think you may be related to this line please feel free to contact me at dll37@juno.com (those are "L's" not ones). This line is descended from Jacob Looss who arrived in Philadelphia aboard the ship Edinburgh on October 2, 1753.
