Dear Anthony,
Your message really struck a cord with me.
Perhaps we are related. Yes, there are many Ludden's in the states but many of them are of the English line, who is supposedly not related to us but are english according to them.
There was a Fr. Paul Ludden in Mullingar in
1972 who had all the Ludden records including my branch of the family and he was my fathers cousin. Don't know if Paul is still alive or not.
Here's some of what I know myself. I've gone back as far as my gt. gt. gr. parents
who were John Ludden, Sr. and Bridget Hoben
who were both born in Ireland, possibly Mayo
or Galway. Their children were Patrick H, born Ireland; Bridget, Jr. born Ireland;
John Bennett; Michael J., Timothy Ellis; Thomas A.(Anthony?)who is my gt. gr father;
Ellen Theresa; and Mary Ann. Mary Ann went by the spelling of Loudden. My other lines
are Downeys of Cork; Markeys of Louth and Cork, McCarthy(Mor) of Cork. Tait of Donegal.
Thomas A. married Ellen Markey and they had:
Vincent Edward Ludden
Gabriel Francis Ludden
James Clement "Clem" Ludden
Marie Ludden
James Clement married Marie Elizabeth McCarthy and they had:
Paul Gerald
Kenneth Anthony(my dad)
John Clement
James Gregory
Jane Marie
Kenneth married Donna Mae Grace Batty and they had:
myself
Timothy John Ludden
Do any of these names sound familiar to you?
I want so much to make contact with my Ludden family in Ireland. Glad to hear from
you and welcome to America. Take care. Hope
to hear from you soon. DeeAnn Ludden Moore
