My father was a Luna. I know very little about his family. I will share what little I do know. Other family names are Leyva, Renteria. They were from Durango, Durango, Mexico. My fathers grandmother was Eufemia Leyva. I believe she married a Renteria. Don't know anything about her husband. Eufemia had 3 children. Maria Renteria, Palomon, and Juan Antonio. The boys migrated to the U.S. There was a Jesus Renteria who also came to the States. Not sure what the relationship, (cousin, Uncle) was between my the renterias and Leyvas and my father. Maria Renteria DeLuna was my father's mother. Would be happy to hear from you.

mi bisabuelo era Claro de luna died in the early 1900's he had many sons and daugthers. yo conosi a barios 1. juan de luna 2. Felipe de luna mi abuelo. Don Claro had a big family the only info that i have is that they had conflict and migrated to zacatecas and other ranchitos. Don Claro died en el rancho; ojo de agua de los montes, tepezala aguascalientes. we might be related?

Luna family in Hidalgo County, Texas

I am researching my husbands family and his Rivera/Luna family has a strong tie to the Hidalgo area, expecially Edinburg, Tx. His great grandfather Macario Luna Rivera (born in Mexico 1915) and lived in the Hidalgo area with his mother Josefa Luna (Luna is her married name and she later married a Santos Cruz) and his sisters Maria, Teresa and Anastacia who were born in Texas. I am trying to find any information on either Josefa or Marcario's unknown father. Macario and his Mother and Father were born in Mexico, I dont know where, and immigrated approx. 1916. I havent found their border crossing documents. His father passed away at best guess between 1925 (when Anastacia was born) and 1930 (the us census). On the 1930 census, Josefa was widowed and living with her brothers Francisco and Apolonio in Hidalgo county. She stayed in Hidalgo county and passed away in 1991. I havent been able to find the cemetery. Macario and his wife Hipolita had several children and there are still descendants in Texas as well as Washington state. If you have anymore information or a common ancestor, I would love to compare notes. Thanks

My name is Elmer de Luna and I am from Lipa City Batangas... I am also interested to know dig deeper into my ancestral family tree.

My great grandfather's name is Teodoro de Luna who, according to my grandmother, is a native of Lipa City, Batangas.

I am currently tracing my lineage from the past so it is very helpful and important for me to know other people who, in some ways, would be connected to my ancestral family tree.

I am trying to figure out the origin of my father. i do not know much about his family. My father's name is Felipe De Luna jr. His father was named Felipe De Luna Lopez Sr. He passed away when i was 8 years old. My father's mother name was Josefina Velazquez. My dad's family is originally from Aguascalientes, Mexico. Hello my name is Hector Gabriel Ibarra Gutierrez,but my real name is Hector Gabriel Luna Ibarra who's name was changed after my mother ran away from our home town Tala Jalisco with my two older brothers Fransisco Javier and Mario Jaime Luna Ibarra.I was born in 11/11/1965 about 3 months after my father passed away who I did not got to share any father and son momento, so I guess this makes me and my brothers your half uncles ? We all reside in Las Vegas , Nevada USA,except for Mario Jaime Ibarra Luna who now leaves in Tijuana Baja California Mexico. I do have 4 younger brothers who our Mother gave birth to from her second marriage. Martina de Luna was married to my great grandfather Petronilo Mata according to the 1920 census. He is buried in Big Wells Texas. Where is Martina buried? My grand father is Victoriano Mata, he was married to Virginia Garcia they lived in Big Wells Texas. I am looking for more information on Martina, where she lived and why she is not buried with her husband. Thanks for any leads.

My husband John 'Juan'Luna and his sister Maria Quadalupe Luna Aguilar was the son and daughter of Tomas Luna and Delores De LaGarza. Tomas Luna was the son of Casamiri And Antonio Luna who lived in Wharton, Texas. I know her maiden name but need to look up my records. There were additional children of Antonio and Casamiri, but again I have them on file somewhere. I know that John and Maria were named after siblings of Tomas. We once visited Tomas and his new family about 35 years ago. There were 3 or 4 kids in the home. He did not recognize John at first if at all. The neighborhood catholic church directed us to him and where he lived. There could be a possibility that your father is Tomas brother. Look for Casamiri and Antonio Luna in the census records there you will find their children.

Hi, I am also looking for my grandfather family in Wharton/Victora, Texas

His name was John (Juan)Luna from houston, tx. He passed away on January 3, 2003. born 1925 in October. He worked for Southern Pacific Railroad for 42 yrs. He was married to Elvira Garcia Lune. They had five children: Vicenta, Pete, Alfread,Anthony,Manuel, and Josephine (decease at birth).

I believe he had a brother and sister. Would love info on the family in Victor/Wharton. We do not know them.

Thanks for the information. I have your John Looney m. to Esther Hettie Renfro in 1756 in Augusta Co., VA. I have that he d. in 1817 and she in 1821.

I also have, (and this may be in error), that John (or a John Looney), had a relationship with the Daughter of Black
Fox which resulted in the birth of a son, John Looney, in 1776/Cherokee Nation E., AL. who m. Betsy Webber.

The daughter of Black Fox had a sister, Mary Ann ("Polly"), who m. William Davis, b. 1754/Hanover Co., VA (unk. whether he was of Native American blood or not). He fought in the Rev. and they settled settled in Maynard's Cove, Jackson Co., AL.

I'll try to make this simple:
Robert Looney is my 6th great grandfather. for his wife I have seen his wife mostly as Elizabeth Llewllyn Barber. And Robert's mother as Llewellyn Young.
John Looney(1732-1817) is my 5th great grandfather married Esther Renfro in 1759(I think she maybe 2nd wife). I have 2 sons born in 1757 & 58.
their daughter Lucy Jane Looney married Stephen Hosltein;
they had Henry Holstein who married Sarah Javins;
they had Peter Holstein mairried Mary Jane Sisson and had my great grandmother Opal Biddie Holstien (married William Bowles)
I have seen how you were saying the wifes names combined, but the dates never matched when I went back and checked. A lot of confusion comes in when people don't double check the info they put in their family tree and each generation has John, Robert, William and James. I've seen other family trees that had mothers giving birth or getting married 10 yrs after they died!
I hope this can help, my trees are both public Colles/Burns is the main one, Bowles is one I started when I was getting confused..lol! If you see anything that helps, need more or anything I'm way off on let me know!

I am trying to find some valid research re: the wife of John Looney (Elizabeth LLewellen) and his son, Robert Looney, Sr. (Elizabeth Stover Barabar).

I have found the two wives names mixed together and unclear. Does anyone have their parentage (verified)?

Robert Looney was in Augusta/Botetourt Counties, VA when my ancestor, Nathaniel Davis and his family were in Beverly Manor, and Buffalo Creek, Augusta County Virginia.

The Looney and Davis families had lines which moved to Madison Co., AL. They were very close there. My Grandfather had a brother named Holbert Luna Davis.

That is so kind of you to reply. Not the one I am looking for ,but I will keep trying. My GGrandfathers store was an old square front , on the right of the street , he also had an old warehouse across on the left. Both were removed ,I guess when the new highway came through and obliterated the town.
