I am thrilled to have your response. I was working on the Kiefer/Luppold connection today. Also trying to find exact locations of stones in West Newton Cemetery so I can have a son photograph them for a manuscript which I hope to publish this August. I believe the Williamsport you mention is in Warren Co, Indiana - Anna Kiefer married a Mathias Luppold (related). Her brother Thomas Kiefer and Mathias and Anna settled first in Berks Co, PA. I leave this Friday for five weeks with grandchildren and then Canada w/o email. I have much to share with you - my research does not go beyond 1st generation born in US but I can assist you to go back to 1600. Prefer direct email to djsautter@aol.com - put Luppold genealogy in subject - in further communication I will give you phone number to call reversing charges. My research entitled ENDINGEN EMIGRANTS TO AMERICA. To verify some of my research put my name as author in card catalogue of library of familysearch.org. David Sautter, Warrington, PA.

I am a granddaughter of Mary Elizabeth Luppold Streicher who was eldest daughter of Christian Luppold. I grew up in West Newton and knew lots of the relatives. I've just recently begun work on this family. I have a genealogy of Christian's descendents - some not documented, but from a granddaughter of Christians who worked all her life at the
West Newton Cemetery and was a meticulous record keeper. I have Christian's handwritten notes in a New Testament (giving date of his arrival in NYC)and also some letters - all in German. There is a letter from Williamsport, PA addressed to "My Dear Brother Christ" and signed Anna Maria Kieffer. I don't read German so I'm struggling with all this. Right now I'm trying to prove that Christian & Jacob are brothers. Would you suggest my next move would be to order FHL films of the Endingen Church records and hope I can search birth records by date?
Thanks for any suggestions you can give me - Jean

For study of immigrants from Württemberg in which surname Luppold prominent, seek data on Christian (perhaps he went by Christopher) and brother Jacob LUPPOLD. Christian born 1828, shoemaker, wife Louise, apparetly died 1897 in West Newton, PA. Jacob born 1830, was a grocer and wife was Anna Maria. I have already identified their older brother Johann Georg Luppold in Berks Co, PA. Appears as if each had children living in 1900 in West Newton.

I've just completed study of family on which you inquired with assistance from Lisa who has already reponded. Will share info with you. Study will be placed in library and historical society in Reading in September 2006. I did not locate marriage or death/burial of son Mathias (Matthäus) Luppold who had at least one son, William B. Luppold abt Jun 1872, He was married to woman named Jennie, I believe, and they were divorced. Johann Georg Luppold had several brothers including Christian and Jacob who I believe immigrated to Westmoreland Co, PA. I will post separate inquiry.

Hi, I believe John was my ggg grandfather. From the info I have I know my John was married to an Anna and the birth dates are the same for both of them. I dont have the children you have but I have Alice, Katie and Christian who is my gg grandfather he was either born on the boat on the way to america or right after they arrived in 1860 or 1861 and the girls were born later. I also know there was a grandson named William on the 1880 census and I could never find his father, probobly one of the boys you mentioned. They lived in Brecknock twp. Berks co pa. Christian later moved to Reading and married Louisa Schuckers and had my gg grandfather Harvey who lived in Laureldale berks co. pa he married Jennie Schell. Hope this is the same family, happy to finally find some missing info !!

I was looking on the internet and found your question-Is anyone related to John or Anna Luppold-Minneapolis 1900.
I have a picture of my grandfather-George E. Luppold and his sisters Ida, ? and ? (Ann and Marie in ???)- in the picture are also parents John and A___ . The picture was taken in Minneapolis.
From this picture, I know that at least one of the sisters raised a family in Sheridan, Wyoming.
George Luppold married Elizabeth Jones and had three children they raised in Seattle, Washington. Their son George E. Luppold Jr. is my father and is now deceased, Mary never married and is now deceased and the son John Luppold is living in Florida now and in his 80's.
So-I guess my answer if you get this is that I probably am !!! and I know a lot about the offspring of one of John Luppold's children and their descendants (including email addresses) but I have never been in touch with any offspring of the other sibling of my grandfather.
