I'm looking for information regarding Nathaniel Luther and his wife, Adaline (Addie) Preevy.

While I have seen some sources referencing "Adeline Privee", I'm not sure this is the same person as Adaline Preevy. Most of the handwritten sources I've been able to uncover spelled her name "Preevy".

Anyone with information/clarification? I'd love to hear from you!

If your William Penn Luther (1845-1911) is from Louisiana, the original family name was LUTER, and English, as far as we can tell.

We are looking for information on Thomas Jonathan(?) Luther. He married Jane Irene Dames in 1975 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Thomas was sadly killed in a car accident in 1989. His birthday is in 1952 or 1953. They had three children: Andrew Thomas Luther, Jonathan Franklin Luther, and Andrea Joy Luther. Thomas also had 3 siblings: Donald Luther, Robert Luther, and Mary Lynn Luther. If anyone has any information about Thomas's parents, grandparents, or any family members, it would be extremely appreciated. We have been looking for a very long time and have had no luck. In the Hicks - Smith family Cemetery in Burrillville, Rhode Island there is a headstone for Betha Luther "Widow of John Luther of Warren" It also gives her dates of 1767 - 31 Oct 1853. My question is: Is this John Luther the same family as Capt John Luther?

For years I've been stuck on my great-great-great Grandfather, James Luther. He was born approximately in 1810 in Northwest Pennsylvania. He lived in Venango County which later was split into Clarion and Beaver Counties. He died approximately in 1878 and is buried in the Rimersburg, PA cemetery. He's listed on numerous censuses in the 1800's. Children were Mary, William, James, John, Albert, Joseph, Lezum? Any help anyone?

I'm still monitoring this list. I'm supposedly related down the line of Martin Luther's Uncle. I can't prove the connection, only that this is family Legend and there is a Friedrich Luther born on the correct year that matches my great, great grandfather who immigrated. Do you have a big Martin Luther the Reformer Famliy tree? I am fluent in GErman and can read old German records!

I trace my line to Bernard Conrad Luther too. He had a daughter, Mary Ann, who married James Kirkpatrick and they had a large family. I would be happy to share this information with you.

I don't know if anyone is monitoring this board anymore but I will give it a shot. In my tree I am able to trace my relationship to Martin Luther through his eldest son Johannes. Dr. Luther is my 11th Great Grandfather. His several times great grandson Bernard M C Luther had 6 sons and one daughter, Mary Ann Luther who is my 3rd great grandmother. Her father emigrated to Pennsylvania from Germany. She married James Kirkpatrick in 1820.

Um, actually....my husband is a descendant of Martin Luther. When my husband's Grandpa's family went to Canada from Germany, their last name was misspelled at the border crossing and was put down as Lother. I don't know that anyone's done a lot of research on the Luthers, but I do know it's mentioned quite a bit in the family of being tied to Martin Luther.

Sammie is my grandfather was married to Rachael Luther who passed away in 2009 he had three children Rex Edwin Luther of Millsboro De, Barbara Luther of Rehobeth Beach DE, Dawn Hainey of Laurel MD and five grandchildren.

Rex Edwin was the son of Sammie and had two daughters Wendy Dickey and Heidi Thomas of Maryland Rex has 6 grandchildren Madison (17), Olvia(14) and Wyatt(10) to Wendy Dickey and Alexis (17), Callie (5) and Kiersten (5)to Heidi Thomas --- Looks like faternal twins skipped two generations.

My great-great grandfather was Israel Luther, born 28 Mar 1810-died 1 Oct 1888. He is buried at the Eel River Cemetery in Allen County, Indiana. I know that he was from the east, possibly Vermont. Beyond that, I do not have anything. He became a baptist minister, but was also a farmer. He had sons Israel and Aaron, and five daughters. Aaron was killed at Stone's River during the Civil War. Israel (2) farmed among other things.
I would like to find additional information on the first Israel. Through DNA, we know that we are related to Captain John Luther. The gap is yet to be discovered.

My 2 times great-grandfather was Richard Luther and so was his father, they lived in Stockbridge VT. at one point but came from Westport NY. My 2 times gggrandfather married a Josephine Badger of Sharon Vt. He was from a big family, he and a brother Charles moved to Lisbon Maine after his wife Josephine died and they were mill workers.He died in 1915.

The wife of Samuel Luther, who was born 1689, was indeed Sarah Chaffee, daughter of Joseph Chaffee and Annis Martin. Keep in mind that this Samuel Luther(3) had a father Samuel Luther(2), who was born 1663 and died 1714, and a grandfather Samuel Luther(1), who was born about 1636 and died 1716. The wife of Samuel Luther(2) and mother of Samuel Luther(3) was also Sarah, but her surname is unknown. In addition, this Samuel Luther(3) had a son named Samuel Luther(4) who was born and died in 1723.

The internet often gives a death year for Samuel Luther(3) as 1724, which is incorrect. His death is not recorded. His daughter Sarah was born in 1726. His son Constant is the only son to have survived childhood.

I am a descendent of Martin Luther's brother and may have the info you are looking for or connection to find it. tho my research is packed away at the moment. you can check with the Luther Association which is based on descendents of Captain John, descendent of Martin's brother. there are no living decendents of Martin, that line ended bout 100 years ago. you can email me at scrapindogs@gmail.com. oh and his uncle was probably a Luder not Luther.

Martin had several sons johan and paul but that was in the 16th century. They were in the saxony regoin of Germany.

They came from Alsace Lorraine area in 1828 with a large family. They settled in Ohio and had another child, Magdalena, my gggranmother, in Canton, Ohio in 1830. They lived in Zoar and Tiffin, OH but not much else is known about them. Magdalena (m. Hubert Shorts) and her sister, Mary (m. Charles Hoffman) were pioneer settlers in Clyde, Sandusky, OH but I would like info on the rest of their siblings (Paul, George, John, Margaret & Nicholas (all b. in France) and Louis (b. Tuscawaras Co, OH). Anyone have them in their tree or have sources for Zoar or Tiffin?

Hi Cynthia! One of my best memories of your father was a Christmas in Squantum, MA; he gave to all the women [including me] a beautiful blue bottle of Evening in Paris! I felt so grown up even though I was probably about 10 or 11 then. I have a sister, Barbara; my brother, Jimmy, passed away Dec 19th 5-6 yrs ago; I have a much younger brother, Steve, the last child of Bill & Marjorie. Joe you have George Washington Luther as being married Sarah Ann Tate first in 1854 and second to Anna Spears with no issues between them. There is a marriage license for a George Luther and a Anna Spears for Aug 10, 1867 but in the 1880 Census it shows George with Sarah A as husband and wife and then their children and the last three of those children were born 1868, 1870 and 1873. All these children belong to George and Sarah then Anna Spears has to belong to another George Luther

I have a question regarding Anna Margarata Luther. Official records show that she married Goerge Von Kunheim, and the line continues through their children. I have also seen several references to an earlier marriage to Claes Wagner, through whom one son, Emmerich Wagner was born. I am descended from Emmercih Wagner.

My question: is there a definitive site that lists Anna Margareta's husband(s) and children? I would think that Martin Luther, being raised in Catholic doctrine, would have kept good records of baptisms and marriages.

Any help would be very useful. Thanks
