William LYLES was born 15 July 1861 in Union Co., SC and died 11 September 1937 in Clinton, Laurens Co., SC. He married Mattie E. Nodine who died in 1964. They are buried beside his mother, Letticia Gregory LYLES, at Mt. Vernon Church in Union, SC. William had 2 sons, John W. and L. V. LYLES. He had two sisters, Mamie E. Tucker of Augusta and Mary E. LYLES Edwards, that died in Greenville SC, who was my ancestor. Does anyone have any information on the William LYLES family? My GGGrandfather was named Charner Washington Lyles. He moved to Jackson Parish La. near Vienna in 1849. His father was John E.(Edward or Ephriam) Lyles of Chester District, S.C.According to the info I have been given there were 3 brothers- James and Thomas who setttled in South Carolina and Ephriam who settled in North Carolina in the 1700's.
