I am a descendant of William Liles/Lyles/Lisle (wife Martha Ann Schaus/Shows married George Wyatt Clark after Williams death) born 1854 in Butler Co AL through his son Madison A Liles and wife Sarah Highsmith. I have pictures and documentation that far back.

According to my grandmother Hampton was father of William and of Rebecca Jane Liles who married Nathaniel Rodgers. These two stayed in AL when Hampton moved on to Texas about 1865 with sons Thomas, George and Sol.

I have found Hampton Lisle in the 1830 Twiggs Co GA census, along with a few other Lisle families. Hampton was in the 1840 Butler Co census and in AL land records.

He is said to be son of John Lyles (rev soldier) born 1755 SC who is buried in Covington CO AL father of Sherwood/Sherrod/Cherwood and Cassius. (Cassius had a son Hampton born abt 1849). Their mother possibly Sarah Rabb. John married Sally Ady in 1807 Jackson CO GA

My father's grandmother was Sarah Highsmith. His name was Robert Highsmith Liles Born in 1925, his mother was Helen Liles (she had a Polish maiden name). We're related to Martha Shows. I don't know much, I'd like to know what happened to my dad's father (my grandfather) Highsmith Liles

I have Highsmith Liles as son of Madison A Liles and Sarah Elizabeth Highsmith, daughter of Daniel Highsmith and Elizabeth Caroline Carroll Highsmith Davis.
