Hi Lynde....Some of that is right.... (but first, under your name, it says you haven't checked in for 6 months...any idea of what that is about??)

First:
>>>>>1 Isaac Lynde b: 26 Jun 1741 in Leicester, Worcester, MA
......+ Margaret Sevar m: 13 Aug 1762 in Leicester, Worcester, MA,, d: Feb 1770 in Leicester, MA,<<<<<

This may be correct. Are there any sources we can quote here?

But this:
>>>>>............2 Sever Alonso Lynde b: 22 Mar 1798 in Monson, Hampton co., MA d. 2 Jun 1843 in Erie Co., PA.
............ + Minerva Jane Jaynes b: 14 Feb 1827 in North Carolina, m: 22 Jan 1846 in Johnson Co., Missouri, d: 26 Jan 1905 in Warrensburg, Johnson Co., MO [m. 2nd John Marr Guinn 4 children.]<<<<<

Can't be right, UNLESS there were two Sever Alonso Lynde's....All of our family info says that Seiver/Sever Alonso/Alonzo Lynde married Minerva Jaynes with the above dates you show. IF the Sever Alonso Lynde you show as a son of Issac is correct, the date he died is before his children with Minerva were born!!!

The children of Seiver/Sever A. Lynde and Minerva Jaynes Lynde are correct and she did remarry after Seiver/Sever A. Lynde died about 1859. They are in the 1850 Johnson Co. MO census in 1850....but only she and the children were on the 1860 census of the same location.... I believe he was buried in Houts Chapel Cemetery, Warrensburg, MO.... some listings show that, some do not, which means to be that the stone is gone...

Maybe if you have some links we can do some searching here....Thanks!

Al....I am related to Seiver/Sever Alonzo Lynde in MO...All I know of him is that he was born in Ohio (where?) and there is speculation to which family he was from in MA...but after all these years, I haven't seen anything that proves the connection....Would be so fortunate to finally have the right lineage for him, and certainly would share what I have so far.
To tonic4 and all those who posted in reply, I am Juanita Hurley. My mother is a Lynde. Jabez' father John b. 1736 was brother to Isaac b. 1741. Isaac is my direct line.

I just wanted to say that I am VERY happy that the Lynde message board has new postings. It has been awhile. Do any of you know what has happened to Sybil? Please let me know if you do. I do have her address where I can write if no one knows. Thanks

Charles' grandmother [Solomon Thompson md Polly [Mary/Lucy] Smith; was Lucy Lynde who md Nathanial Smith [Leicester/Malden, M.A.] Lucy disappeared with Nathanial, had 4-5 children...he apparently died [any number of reasons, all unsubstantiated] and she shows up back in Brimfield and marries Thomas Ellinwood, in the same church as her daughter, Polly [Solomon] and within two years of that event.

From your notes, I believe, sent to me some time back: "1 [1] Samuel Lynde (?Lunde) b: 15 Jun 1714 in Leicester, MA d: 05 Nov 1777 in Leicester, MA
.. +m1 Mary Lamb b: 08 Nov 1712 in Framingham, Middlesex, MA d: Bef. 1750 in Leicester, Massachusetts
..................2 Lucy Lynde b: 27 May 1741 in Leicester, MA d: in Leicester, MA
.... +Nathaniel Smith b: 16 Sep 1738 in Leicester, Worcester, MA m: 14 Aug 1762 in Leicester, Worcester, MA
.......................3 Mary [Polly] Smith m. Spears and Alice Lynde.

I understand there is a book on Lynde Family History, but seeing as how it is not readily available I wondered if anyone could tell me more about Alice or her family, or even the allusive Spears.

There was lots of postings in 99/2000 about the Lyndes but not much since then.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi aschafer and Lynde Randall.

I too am a direct descendant of Sevier Lynde and his wife Minerva Jaynes Lynde Gwinn. Of course, each one of the names are and have been spelled a variety of names.

Lynde, Do you know the children of Jonathan and his wife Polly Franklin Lynde? If not, do you know who is the Father and Mother of Sevier/Siever/Sever Alonzo Lynde, and have proof of that? He is an elusive guy, for sure! I have a new email address from the original one I had here way back in the 1990's. Please contact me at DiggerParsons@aol.com

Thank you so much for the info. Seiver A. Lynde is my direct line. I had been told that his parents were possibly Isaac Lynde & Lydia Adams, but am still looking for proof of that. Any further info anyone can provide to shatter my brick wall if it makes this connection or the right connection would be greatly appreciated. Thank you again.

In the information that you have on the Rowley's, is Guy's middle name Amos. If so he is my grandfather. I would be interested in any of the information that you have. I have been hitting a lot of dead ends. You can email me at: pattymarykay@yahoo.com. I am still working on the Firor end of the family, but so far with not a lot of luck. I look forward to hearing from you, with any type of lead.

Thank You,
Patty
