I am searching for information on my great grandparents, Philip & Charlotte (maiden name unknown) Lyons. They lived in Montana, near Dilon, and had the following children: Irene J, Mark, Melora, Webster, Allen, Philip, and Parsons. Philip,sr was born 1861 and Charlotte was born 1864. I am looking for information about their parents and any siblings they may have had. My grandmother, Irene, went on to marry Milton C. Gunn, in Helena, MT.

Would love to see some pictures to check for a family resemblance. My gggrandfather was William (maybe Liam) Lyons from Cork, Ireland b. @ 1811-13. His parents were Jeremiah and Margarett (last name unknown) Lyons. No known siblings of William. He married Rose Armshaw of Tipperary, Ireland. Emigrated to America prior to 1848 and settled in Sag Harbor, NY prior to 1860. I am hoping John might be a brother of William. Look forward to hearing from you.

William and Maurice's parents were Denis Lyons and Maria Phelan who were married in Crookstown Co. Kildare. they lived in the Quaker Village of Ballitore where Denis worked as a carpenterm in a corn mill owned by Richard Shackelton

When Richard Shackelton purchased the Anna Liffey Mill inm Lucan, West Dublin in 1863 Richard Sheckelton asked Denis to accopmany him to Lucan.

Michael's parents were Eliza nee Callahan and Michael Lyons
Both were from Ireland. No information re Eliza's family. Have more on Michael, including having identified three other brothers Denis, Michael and Edward. Karen Loft -my cousin and I have lots of info on the Lyons Please let me know if you would like copies.

I have a William Lyons, b. @1811, Cork, Ireland who settled in Sag Harbor, NY prior to 1860, was in New London, Ct. in 1850. He came to America prior to 1848. He is my g-g-grandfather. His father was Jeremiah Lyons.

Juanita Mae Ellis, 86 of Zanesville, Ohio passed away Friday April 20, 2012 at the Willow Haven Care Center.

She was born in Zanesville, Ohio on June 8, 1925 a daughter of the late Robert and Carrie Taylor Lyons.

She had worked at Essex Wire, Jergens and Krogers and was a member of Norval Park Church of Christ.

She is survived by one son Harold J. Ellis Jr. of Zanesville, Ohio; one daughter Sally Gibson of Clinton, IN; half brother Spence Lewis of California; one sister Ellen Jadrich of Panama City, Florida; several grandchildren; great grandchildren; and great great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Harold Joseph Ellis Sr.; and one son Ernest Hiett.

Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Tuesday April 24, 2012 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME 1150 W. MILITARY RD. ZANESVILLE with Dallas Lockhart officiating.
Burial will follow in Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 11am until time of services.

Funeral services will be held in the Dean funeral home, Zanesville, Ohio for Robert Hayes Lyons, 70, who died here Friday.(Mar. 18, 1949) Rev. E. T. Acord of the First Methodist church will officiate and burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery.
Lyons was born at Rix Mills, Ohio (son of Andrew and Evelyn Dennis Lyons)and was a member of the Methodist church there.
He was a retired glass packer. His death in Good Samaritan Hospital followed a years illness.
Survivors include three sons, Clyde, of the U.S. Army, Paul and Earnest of Zanesville; three daughters, Mrs. Juanita Ellis of Oakmont, Pa., Mrs. Ellen Huffman and Mrs. Mary Corder of Zanesville; a brother, Lynn Lyons of Zanesville, four sisters, Mrs. Jennie Davis, Lake Drive; Mrs. Flora Bellinger, Moxahala avenue; Mrs. Hattie Jones, Lake drive; Mrs. Mary Mercer, Cambridge, Ohio; and eighteen grandchildren.
The body will remain at the funeral home until time for services

My 2x gr-grandfather is Patrick Lyons who married Bridget Moran. He was in Rush, Monroe Co, NY in 1850, then in Avon and later in Rochester, but I think back in Avon when he died. I have found another Lyons family, also in Rush - Thomas and Mary who had children Ellen, William, Eliza, Emma (died young), Charles(died young), Thomas and Theresa. Thomas dioed 1900 and Mary in 1901, both buried at St Agnes in Avon, Livingston Co. Is anyone out there related to Thomas who can confirm or deny a relationship between Patrick and Thomas?

I am trying to find the father of John Lyons b 1844 Ireland and died 1907 Paisley Scotland. On John's death entry has his father as Constantine Lyons and mother Mary Sullivan.
John married Anne Earley.
They lived in Paisley with their 7 children.
Hoping this sounds familiar to some one out there.

I have a couple of old pictures with the Lyons family. I am not sure who everyone is but I can guess most of them. We spent a lot of time with my dad's aunt Ethel and her family. Granny Lyons ,Martha, died when I was young but I do remember her. My dad took her on a trip to California before he got married to see her son there and we visited George in Detroit a few times. I also have fond memories and pictures of my dad's Uncle Alf and Aunt Lucy from Guelph. Lucy was also my grandfather Martin's cousin. I would be interested in getting in touch and sharing some pictures and information. I have gone as far as I can with my research and look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Donna, I have only just seen your reply to my Lyons question, sorry. Alfred Lyons was my grandmother's uncle so Beatrice was her first cousin.
I have done quite a lot of research into the Lyons family as I knew very little about my father's family, so while I was living in London I did lots of research.
My great grandmother was Alfred's half sister Jenetia. I tracked your part of the Lyons to Canada & I have you on my family tree, not sure how I got the information though, I added it a while ago, have we been in contact before. I'd love to know more about my Canadian cousins. I have a photo given to me by your cousin in LA which I think may be of Beatrice, I'd love to know if it is or not.

I am a direct descendent of Henry Lyons & Martha Drake also.
The information we have was recorded in 1911. It states that
Henry died July 1780, of smallpox three weeks after his discharge from the Army. A marriage date is also given -
25 September 1770 in Orange County, New York.

Orange County, New York Tax Rolls for 1775, list Lyons, Henry 9 567 District No. 9.

Her parents were Thomas b 1820 in Ireland, d 1896 in Watertown and Ellen nee Grady b 1824 in Ireland, d 1905. Her brothers all born in Watertown, I believe were Michael b 1847, James b 1849, Thomas b 1856, John b 1861 & Joseph b 1886: sisters were Ellen b 1851, Mary b 1855, Margaret b 1859 & Delia b 1865.Joanna (Annie M) married Thomas J Finneran in 1878. They had 7 children: Thomas A b 1880, Frederick P b 1882, Francis J b 1885, Ella (my grandmother, who also married a Finneran) b 1889, Annette b 1894 & Mabel 1898.

I am seeking information on the death of Maurice (or Morris) who died circa 1875. I have been told that his brother William (1863 1966) was in some way involved in his twin brother's death.

I would also like to know why the Lyoins Family who lilved in Lucaan, Co. Dublin would have attended the Roman Catholic Church in Blanchardstown, at least for the baptism of their children rather than using St. Mary's Church in Lucan for this.

Hi.I think Michael was my great-great grandad.
Eliza's surname was Callahan and she was born about 1830.Her father could be Thomas,from Cork.
Edward,b.1855/6,was my great-grandad.His son,William b.1893,was my grandad.
The address I have is Tinkers Alley,Chislehurst and Eliza's occupation is stated as farm servant.
I think Michael's parents were Edward b.1800 and Bridget 1809-1864.

I am looking for any records that my great great grandfather William Francis Lyons Sr. that have the dates, name of the rail road, possibly address where he lived. I know from the 1920's census and possibly 1930's census he lived in Chicago Ill and he was an engineer and a break man in Chicago then moved to Kansas working on the rail road as a break man. I am descended from a Lyons family originally from Leeds. Two of me great-great uncles were Nathaniel and Henry Lyons, who emigrated to South Africa in 1892. My grandmother, Gertrude Lyons, was their niece. Not sure if it is the same family, but the names and timing are similar

My mom and I have finally discovered a good lead to finding some of our ancestors. We think that possibly your great-great grandfather, Thomas Lyons, could be my great-great uncle. He was born in Ireland and moved to Worchester, MA. His brother was Patrick Lyons, who was born in County Cork, Ireland and moved to Chicago, IL where he married and died at the age of 47 in 1910. He had two daughters, Lillian (born 1897) and Julia (born 1899). Patrick Lyons would be my great-great grandfather, making you and I third cousins.

Do you have any photographs? We have one of Patrick Lyons and one of his wife and one of another woman relative (name unknown). We also have one of Thomas Lyons and his wife, which could be your great-great grandparents. It was taken in Worchester, MA. All of our photos are in Wisconsin now, and we are in Florida, but we hope to visit there this year.

My mom, who is 90, thinks that the Thomas Lyons in your message is possibly her great uncle. Her grandfather was Patrick Lyons, and he eventually moved to Chicago where he died at the age of 47 in 1910. That, however, would have made his birth year 1863. Still, this may be the same Patrick Lyons. He was born in County Cork, Ireland.

My mom has photos of Thomas Lyons and his wife, taken in Worchester, MA and Patrick Lyons, taken in Chicago. There is also a woman, but we don't know her name. Our photos are in Wisconsin right now, and we are in Florida. Where are you? We would love to see your photos and see if they look like ours at all.

She then married William Shields and had children but she named some of the kids Riffle instead of the Shield's name. After her husband William and her mother died she moved to ARK.
