As a McConnell researcher, I'd like to encourage MacDonald researchers and others researching names that are variants of MacDonald to participate in the Clan Donald DNA Project. Males who carry the surname MacDonald or a variant may participate by joining the project. Females and males who are interested in researching MacDonald lines but don't carry the Y chromosomes of those lines may participate by encouraging MacDonald males from those lines to participate.

I encourage all MacDonald researchers to visit the outstanding website of the Clan Donald DNA Project. Even if you are not interested in testing, you might find out something useful, especially if your line is related to the MacDonald clan chiefs.
