Hi, My Name is John MacLellan, William E.G. MacLellan was my Grandfather. I Have an old book with some names mentioned in it, My Auntie gave me long ago.
It mentions some of the families in it. Not to many dates. My Granddaughter is helping me with these posts.

I am putting a few post out there on other Family Boards With other surnames mentioned in the Book, in hopes that someone will know of any of the names I mention.

Unforunally There are not alot of dates beside There Names. So I am not sure if anyone will be able to help me. I am new at this and am not great with computers so you will have to bare with me.

I don't have any info on my MacAulays in Canada (wish I did). Sarah MacAulay, born Sept. 26, 1876 (apprx) moved to Maine in the early 1890's, and lived in Bangor until she died in 1951. She married William T. Wilk(e)s.

Not really. My Neil Ban MacLellan was married to a Catherine MacAulay, that is the only connection that I have uncovered.
Where did your MacAulays settle? There are a few MacAulay families in this area.

Captain Peter MacLellan married Penelope MacDonald of Ormacleit. Captain Peter MacLellan was the first to take a steam ship up the Broomielaw.
A Lothian(a mapmaker)married the daughter.
Maria MacLellan married engineer James Lothian who died in Dublin. 2 of the children - Archibald and John Lothian came to Uist to live with the MacLellans. They stayed at Treshnish, Mull and Palace Riggs, Cumbernauld. John Lothian died 1914 and buried in S. Uist.

I have some information on Karl (Charles) Rossteuscher who emigrated in 1853 and lived for a time in Manitowoc, WI before moving to South Dakota. He was a butcher and also a brewer. He was born in Hessen-Kassel.

I am searching for ancestry of two daughters of a Tümann (Tuemann, Thumann etc) who married two sons of Rossteuscher, a butcher, and lived in Hesse-Cassel, Kassel. One girl died after childbirth about 1850, the other, Caroline, lived in Kassel unti 1890, and Berlin until 1892.

I would look for ancestors of your Tueman in places other than England.

I heard they were exiled from Scotland due to their support of Charles Stuart in his attempt to regain the throne. Dear Angela,

If you are related to anyone on Parker's Ridge, Boiestown then David MacLellan and Mary McLeod are who you are looking for. The Population of the area is very small. I still have aunts, uncles and great aunts and uncles who live there. My father is burried in the cemetary on the "Ridge".

I get mixed up because my tree actually crosses but David and Mary are there at the top. I'll have to look it up but my mother's family comes from Mary and I think my father comes from the other side. I look normal despite the crossover.

What are you looking for? I'm not a stats person but I have an aunt Erma who keeps it all straight.

I done alot of research into my father's family when I was a teenager. The Maclellan's do have a castle in Kircubrightshire in Scotland. It's only a ruin but the caretaker there was very helpful in my quest for more information.

Beverley, I think somewhere in our family tree we connect to Dumfries but I think it's going back to the 15th or 16th century. I did do my family tree when I was at school and managed, with the help of the caretaker at Maclellan Castle, to go as far back as 1436. The Maclellans were given a charter of land in 1536, by James 1st, in Nova Scotia, Canada, which is where my father comes from originally.
