Annie appears to be a missing link. I can't finder her past the 1910 census. She was mentioned in her mothers obit (Mrs. Annie English) but not her brother or father's obit). She was referred to as "ish" by her younger sister Hilma who refused to talk about her at all.

I've found nothing on English. Did not know she even existed until shortly before Hilma's death in 1995. Really want to learn more about her but would love to connect with others searching.

Okay,brave yourself..I found plenty of info!!! I'll start from Sweden to England and on to the 1930 California census and beyond!
Anton left sweden on 23 Nov 1906 for England.
He sailed on the ship called Saxonia from Liverpool England and arrived in Boston Dec.1907. Now,refer to my first post for his places of residence.
In August,1920 he and Theresa sailed from Vancouver,B.C. to Seattle with their destination given as San Diego.
1930 California census
Anton 42 years old
Theresa 41 years old
Roy 6years old their son
Thor Henrickson 30 years old -- Thereas's brother.
Age at their marriage: Anton 30 and Theresa 29
Occupation;poultry farmer
Anton born in Colstad Sweden
Theresa born in Vermland,Sweden
Theresa came to the USA in August 1915 and arrived in New York aboard the ship called the United States.

Anton became a naturalized citizen on 15 Nov.1941.
Haven't found a record for Theresa.becoming an American citizen.Now,seeing that they left Canada fron the port of Vancouver in 1920 for San Diego,perhaps they married in Canada.Oh,I should say that in the 1930 census they state they've been married for 12 years....so that would be about 1918.
Haven't found a trace yet of Theresa when she landed in New York in 1915.I'll look on the Ellis Island records to find her destination.

I am looking for any information on Anton Magnuson. He immigrated from Sweden in 1907 to Aitkin, Minnesota and relocated to Claresholm, Alberta, Canada at some point. He then relocated to San Diego County in 1919. I believe he married Theresa Henricksen in Minnesota. I'm certain he had family in either Minnesota or Canada. He is my husband's paternal grandfather and any information would be great.

I'd appreciate any help/confirmation with this line. I have a John Otto Magnuson b. 1911 in Örsås, Svenljunga, Älvsborgs län, Sweden who emigrated with his parents in 1915. I believe his parents are Johan Magnusson & Agnes Sällmina (Wilhelmina) Haglund (father Otto Haglund). If I have the correct Johan, he was born 28 Mar 1861 in Alster, near Karlskoga, Värmland. Which would mean he ended up in Älvsborgs län where his wife and son were born. The parents were apparently already middle-aged when John Otto was born, so unlikely there were other children. I believe this to be the same Johan that shows on the 1920 census as leaving in Upper Michigan. John Otto married Ruth Ada Schult, was a minister, and lived in both Minneapolis, MN and Marquette, MI.

Robert MAGNUSON born Nov 1923 in Seattle

I am searching for information about Robert Leroy Magnuson, born in Seattle to Martin (Marius) and Nellie (Gunhild) Magnuson, Norwegian immigrants. His last contact with the family was around 1970 and he was living in Southern Califoria. He sent a postcard from Hawaii around that time.

Bob was a paratrooper in WWII in the 517th and has not attended their reunions. Two military documents indicate he may have married for a time during the war.

Bob was a civilian contractor with the Navy in Alaska c. 1948-51. In a photo from Kodiak he is shown with another Robert Magnuson. After Alaska he moved back to Seattle and then perhaps to San Diego before going to Los Angeles. He was a licensed pilot and flew float planes in Seattle for a time.

Family rumor is that he was homeless and probably died on the streets in LA. Have been searching for about 5 years and can find no records past 1957.

Any information is much appreciated.

I am not related, I found the info when i was looking for another person in the same parish.
I remember I had seen your querry before and started a research for Emmas family.
Either of them, Emma or Anders, were married. Both died on Takene. If I remember right, did Emma die of cancer and Anders of pneumonia, but I am not sure. Their mother died because of her age.

Did Emma or Andres ever marry?

I have figured out a lot about this family of course I am related to them after all.

Their brother Nils had his own store in Chicago and was a tailor possibly a haberdasherer(?). Brother Johan was a farmer in Michigan. Sister Maria married a Munson whom I believe was a farmer but not sure.

I am related through Johan.

Emma died in Mangskog 02/19/1912, and her mother Marta Persdotter died the same year June 30. The father died 1885 and the oldest son Anders died 12/05/1920.

Born in Beverly Hills to Herb and Muriel Engstrom, Esther graduated from Bevery Hills High School, where she was Editor of the Yearbook and voted Most Likely to Succeed by her senior class. She then moved on to UCLA to study journalism. She joined the Alpha Phi sorority at UCLA and remained an active chapter member for decades. She was also an enthusiastic supporter of all things associated with UCLA and a lifelong Bruins fan. Over the years, Esther devoted many hours in support of charitable organizations, including the Special Children's League, the National Charity League and the Assistance League. She also was an associate of the Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital Foundation. Esther was proceeded in death by her brother, Arthur Engstrom, and by a daughter, Martina Dunham. Esther is survived by her loving husband, Gordon S. Magnuson; a daughter, Kathy Dunham; a son, Scott Dunham; two stepsons, Michael and Robert Magnuson; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Magnuson, Gordon Stewart

MAGNUSON-Gordon Stewart Magnuson, a beloved father and friend, civil engineer and business executive, died on February 24, 2008, in Whittier of complications from Parkinson's Disease. He was 85. Born in Seattle on April 30, 1922, he moved to Southern California with his parents during the Great Depression. He was raised in Lynwood with his older sister and younger brother, and attended Compton High School and Menlo College before graduating from Stanford University in 1942. He enlisted in the U .S. Navy, where he attained the rank of First Lieutenant, serving on a floating dry dock with the Seabees in the Pacific during World War II. During the war, Gordon met and married Jean Shelloy Ramsing, a school teacher and UCLA graduate from Perris. Later he received his Master's degree in Civil Engeerning from USC. The couple settled in Whittier and had two sons before she passed away in 1964. Two years later, he married his second wife, the former Esther Engstrom, who died in 2004. As a civil engineer, he worked for the County of Los Angeles before moving to the private sector, where he worked for Gladding McBean & Co., Pacific Clay Products, Interpace and the Clay Pipe Institute. He finished his career as a partner at Engineering Science, which later was acquired by Ralph M. Parsons Co. He formally retired in 1987, but continued to work as a consultant to the Santa Ana Watershed Project Authority until the age of 80. His half-century-long career included many of Southern California 's most important water treatment projects. He was a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers. Gordon is survived by his sons, attorney Michael Magnuson of Whittier and former Los Angeles Times editor and executive Robert Magnuson of Laguna Beach , and his sister, Elaine Kelley of Laguna Niguel. Also surviving are stepchildren Kathleen and Scott Dunham; grandchildren Molly, Matthew, Alexandra, Gina and Katherine Magnuson; step-grandchildren Brian and Marnie Granados, and a step-great-grandchild, Liliana Granados. Whatever happened to Emma Magnusdotter and Anders Magnusson

Their parents were Magnus Nilsson 1829 Slorud, Brunskog, Varmland,and Marta Persdotter 1829 Ostra Tobyn, Mangskog, Sweden.

Emma 1873 Humsjon, Mangskog, Varmland still shows up as a piga in 1890 census.
Andres 1852 Ostra Tobyn, Mangskog, Varmland
There other siblings Johan(1859), Nils(1861), and Maria(1855 Ostra Tobyn, Mangskog, Varmland) came to America.
Nils settled in Chicago, Maria settled in Michigan and Johan settled in Michigan.

Andrew left Sweden circa 1886, he was a quarryman. Believe he came with his brother Charles (aka Carl E). Buried in Swedeish Cemetery, Portland CT. Died at age 33. Married to Johann Olivia Olson. Had 3 sons, Carl Geoge, Enoch and Oliver. Any info would be helpful

I have Peter Magnus Magnusson born Jan 5 1802 Sund Östergötland and ded 1877 in Swedona Ill. He was married to Anna Lisa Persdotter born Okt 26 1802 in Västra Ryd Östergötland. She died 1888 in Ill.
I have contact with people in San Juan Islands who know more about them.

I'm looking for information connected to Peter Magnus Magnusson born 1802 in parish of Sund, Ostergotland Sweden.

Married Anna Lisa Petersdotter also born 1802 in Ostergotland.

He changed his name to "Magnuson" when immigrating to Andover IL around 1851.

They had 6 children Carl Johan, Anna Louise, Helena Catrina, Brita, Gustafva and Clara M.

Carl left Sweden 1909 for Akeley in Minnesota.
Later in his life he moved to California and died in Red Bluff Oct 28, 1976 according to U. S. Security Act 557-10-2708.

I´m looking for GUSTAF ADOLF EK born 1877 in Frykerud parish, Sweden and TEKLA MARIA MAGNUS(S)ON born in Marback parish, Sweden.

GUSTAFS father and mother:
Jonas Magnus Ottosson Ek, born 1844 in Berg parish, Sweden,
Emma Kristina Johannesdotter, born 1852 in Frykerud parish, Sweden.

TEKLAS father and mother:
Klas Rickard Magnusson, born 1852 in Marback parish, Sweden,
Augusta Maria Josefsdotter, born 1849 in Langhem parish, Sweden.

TEKLA and GUSTAF travelled together to America 1903 and arrived in Ellis Island June 15th 1903.
Their final destination was Akeley in Minnesota.
They also married each other.

I´m also looking for TEKLA MARIAS brother CARL IVAR MAGNUS(S)ON, born 1890 in Boda parish, Sweden.
Parents: See TEKLA MARIA MAGNUS(S)ON.
CARL travelled to America 1909 and arrived in Ellis Island April 30th 1909.
His final destination was Akeley in Minnesota.
CARL IVAR was later setteled in Red Bluff, California where he died Oct 28th 1976.
