Hello,

I've been looking for the father and mother of William and Cora Fournia (Maggy). The dates and places that you mentioned correlate exactly with both William and Cora. (i.e., Saranac, Clinton, New York).
Are you exactly sure of the parents of William Maille (Maggy) that you mentioned in the following post?

Annette,

I am hoping that this also reaches David Charlebois.

I have started looking at Barbara's family tree with her and have come across the French text below which can be found at http://www.archive.org/stream/guideofficieldes00bela/guideof... . My limited knowledge of French suggests is has been incorrectly copied from the original, but I wonder whethe rit suggests that in some way Alfred MAILLE was the son/ adopted son of Ulderic and Adeline CHARLEBOIS - all the other similar entries on the page appear to me to contain parent's names? Does this may any sense to you? Do you have any other ideas? Any help you can give gratefully received.

Best wishes

James

ALFRED-F. MAILLE, électricien, né à Coaticook, le ° janvier ÎS82. l'Uldéric
et d'Adéline Charlebois; marié à Mlle Clayotha Gagnon ; père de 1 enfant; proprié-
taire et voteur.

Hi Barb,

The family that I am working on is the Fourre dit Vadeboncoeur line. There were 60-80 soldiers who took the dit name Vadeboncoeur. I don't come up with your match in my line. Roger Verboncoeur has helped with my Vadeboncoeur line and her has lots of info on many of the other lines. You should be able to find his email under Vadeboncouer in ancestry.com or write me directly at Peggielouwho@yahoo.com.au

These Vadeboncoeurs were mostly in Cohoes, NY not as far north as yours....also some went to Falls River in MA

Good luck, Peggie

This is one branch of the family that still evades classification to a specific Vadeboncoeur family. Anything you can help with will be appreciated. PS. I also collect copies of vital records for my files.
Interesting hobby, n'est-ce-pas?

I was reading this thread and i was very interested. Could you tell me your documentation? i have in my family tree the following:
Pierre Vadeboncoeur married to Louise Gauthier. Thier children i have:
Joseph (whom i descend from)
Francois
Amable
Agnes
Marie Magdalene
Marie Josephte.

from my Joseph who married Sophie Laporte-St. George i have:
Alfred
Joseph
Philomine

I descend from Alfred who married Angeline Felio. Their daughter Evangeline was my great grandmother.

I do not know when this Vadeboncoeur family moved to upstate NY but they settled in Clinton County until parts of them moved into Worcester County, MA. they also americanized their name to Hart.

I am writing this because there is similarity in your names to the ones i have and i was wondering if one of us may be wrong or if we are not even speaking of the same family. would love to hear a reply!
Antoine MAILLE (Maye) m. Henriette Sophia BENOIT ~ Quebec > abt.1848 US

These are my daughters' 3rd gr-grandparents (paternal). I traced the ancestry several years ago but have had limited success with the family in the U.S. Perhaps someone is tracing the same family?
My daughters' 2nd gr-grandmother was Henrietta Sophia de Maille, b.20 Sep 1847 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. She came to the U.S. with her parents, Antoine Maille-Maye and Henriette Sophia Benoit, abt 1848. Antoine was an organ builder, and family story states that he built the organ in a large church or cathedral in Boston, Mass. The family lived in NY, New York City. Henrietta Maille married Frank Peltier/Pelletier in NY in 1870. A few years later they moved to Lewiston, Maine, and a few years after that moved West to Dunseith, N.D.

I have compiled the following list of Henrietta's siblings from census and family records.
Clarence, b. ca 1841 Quebec; Cailloux, b. ca 1844 Quebec; Ferdinand, b. ca 1846 Quebec; Victorine, b. ca 1849 Mass.; Eveline, b. ca 1850 NY; Victor, b. 1850; Albina, b. ca 1856 NY; Fanny, b. ca 1858 NY; Emmerance; Fereole; Radolph.

I will be happy to share and exchange info.
